80% of PUGs don't have a mic, don't listen to any tips you can give, mess the spawn points, use the worst combination of equipment for his/her character, die at least once during a wave, etc.

Yeah, but I probably will only play with peeps that show up on TS. There will hopefully be a couple of open TS servers like there was for ME3MP. That's what I liked most about it, the social element.

Since much of the experience is tied to support action, I expect it will encourage better team play. That being said:

OMG! Guy runs ahead, agros EVERYTHING and DIES! Spends rest of match complaining about no one coming to revive. PuGs

I am expecting people to complain that people keep spamming the Keeper's Barrier. "L2P, best support is deeps! Spec Keeper for damage! Barrier locks up my active abilities!"

The first few matches will probably be awful and wipes for most people in PuGs, and probably for people in groups too.  We'll be at a level disadvantage the further we go into the levels and we'll only be level 1 with crap gear and minimal abilities.  I actually kind of like that it will be nearly impossible to win the first few times.  You can really use it as a learning experience and you'll actually feel like you're growing more powerful.  Looking forward to it! :)

I only used PuGs in ME 3 MP, but I am hoping that the threads for people exchanging gamer tags takes off and people actually come together.  I've already friended a bunch (also let them know I'll only be doing weekend challenges until I do one playthrough on single player, haha).

Yeah, I still fondly remember my first ME3MP match in the Beta. I decided to try Vanguard as that was my main class for SP. Died constantly, only made it to extraction thanks to a very skilled Salarian Infiltrator and his Krogan pal. They revived me at least five times a piece. I remember thinking I would never "get it"... Then by playing obsessively for over a month and reading the forums every night, I started to help my weekend group consistently get to extraction. Stardusk's character build guides saved our bacon... TY sir, wherever you are!

Hey, Jeremiah, how long did you stick with State of Decay? I hung around the Undead Labs forum just long enough to tell them their game sucked then sailed away on a river of nerd tears and warning points.

I eventually got tired of the patches that never fixed the game's biggest bugs, and stopped playing.

Your last pug in the first couple of weeks will be horrible, because I WILL be there and run around without a single clue.

I bet that everyone is going to be wiped on their first game. The enemies are just too powerful.

^ That's one thing that might scare off some casuals. The game is harder at the very first matches, than it'll be in a few matches. The standard thing will be for people to fail early matches and that might be very frustrating for some players. I don't mind it much, but some people might be scared off by this. Now... if scarying off the leaast patient players is bad thing... I don't know. Maybe Bioware is doing it on purpose, to keep the most casuals players on singleplayer only. There is no room for yolo shenanigans in MP.

That's a good point.  I LIKE the fact that I am very unlikely to succeed for the first few matches, but I can definitely see it scaring some players away.

Taken from this ME3MP thread, Bronze/Cerberus was the most succesful games with only 47% completion rate. That means that at best more than half of the games failed on Bronze (super easy mode) and at worst almost 3 out of 4 games failed (72%). Gold, which isn't really hard, have seen at best 77% of its game fail and at worst 91%.

With that said, I'm worried about more powerful enemies in DAMP...

Don't be worried, it''ll be FUN! If you wipe out, just try again. I have no expectation of even making it to the 5th area before my 3rd or 4th match, and I'm not even going to try and guess at when I'll finally make it to mission complete, but I know I will have loads of fun getting there.

I think it will be a blast as long as you have a patient group.  The streams have done a good job of showing how difficult it can be.  I just hope no one is yelling about poor play (feedback and suggestions are necessary, but negative attitudes will only make things worse).  None of the roles are inherently easy to play and it may be a lot of players first time in this type of environment.  I know I have little experience with this outside of single player and this a whole different monster with no pause and play as well as unpredictable players.  Coordination will definitely be key.

I do wonder what the population will be like once I finally get around to diving in full steam.  I'm planning to do my first single player playthrough before doing much multiplayer.  I only plan to try out the weekend challenges early on.

I might get DA:I as early as this weekend (depending on the reviews from those who've actually finished it) and if I do, I look forward to gettin' carried.

If you play on the PS4, I will place you upon my unexpectedly strong Templar shoulders and carry us to victory. For the Inquisition! :D

So, to start the actual intent of the topic:

Painfull

My keeper, two legionnaires, and an archer.  All at level 1.  Out of the four of us, I was the only one who had actually looked at the keybindings, so I was the only one who knew that the "use" button is F.  Plus neither of the legos used sheild wall the entire match.  We wiped early in the second wave.

Wipefest.

You guys suck.  :P But, that's okay because we all do. The important thing is you get gold and experience even when you do wipe. The crappy thing is I haven't unlocked my Necromancer yet.

Is it just my bad luck or Warriors aren't as tanky as they appear to be? Granted that many of us are still leveling and learning at the same time, a lot of the Warriors seem clueless and can go down in seconds.

Btw, I'm playing on 'easy' difficulty at the moment.

Except half the time I don't get any xp after the match...

Also we need "Claymore vs Wraith" and "These are people you are pugging with".

I enjoyed those.

Team was entirely European, couldn't even guess at the language being spoken.

Playing a lvl 9 Keeper at the moment.

Tank did his job pretty well, everyone let him go in first.

Archer and second keeper kept running off and aggroing other mobs, trying to solo them. Keeper didn't figure out about Barrier until Zone 3, and by then he was overriding my own when it was still up.

Died to a bunch of archers when the guys in back didnt help take out smaller enemies.
