Finally did my first few pug Perilous games on my 20 Keeper.
Decided to swap out my Chain Lightning and go with Fade Step, Disruption Field, Fade Cloak, Barrier, all upgraded.
Got in a group with a Necromancer and two archers, all with levels in their late teens.
Run was going fairly smoothly, I was having mixed success Fade Stepping into a crowd of mobs, popping Disruption Field, hitting Fade Cloak and getting the hell out of dodge (Or reapplying Barrier if it was off cooldown.) And then I got greedy on the last group on I think Zone 4 in Tevinter Ruins. And instead of retreating after Disruption Field I actively searched for another archer to Fade Cloak. I found him alright, him and his two other friends outside the Disruption Field
was turned into a pincushion in no time flat.
After that I left the lobby in shame and decided to go back to what I was used to. Swapping Disruption Field back with Chain Lightning and found another group with a Legionaire, a Hunter and an Archer. That one went relatively smooth as well(And I was much more cautious lol.) There was one memorable scene where we were fighting Demons in Tevinter Ruins. The hunter went afk, so the Archer and I were hiding behind the Legionaire while he had his shield up, reflecting back the bolts of like 6 or 7 wraiths shooting at us, while I kept Barrier up. It was kind of comical, us slowly inching forward gaining ground.
Eventually, we got to Zone 5. The Hunter and Archer grabbed the Demon Commander while the Legionaire and myself stood guard at the chokepoint in the room. I just want to say holy crap the Demon Commander is like in turbo mode on Perilous! His three shriek fear thing is so fast. I did what I could to alternate Barriers between the ranged and the Legionaire, but eventually the Hunter and Archer went down and entered the Fade.
Then something happened that I've never seen happen.
The Legionaire grabbed the Demon Commander, did that thing where you run a little then turn around and block his uppercut. And then the Demon Commander just stopped. No attacks, no burrowing, he just stood there while we dps'ed him down. It was weird.
