Man, just got kicked from 3 routine lobbies in a row with my level 1 alchemist. Maybe my reputation precedes me? Is the Faceplant Scrub an e-hero...? The fame! The riches! The Highland dirks!

Seriously though, level 18-20 characters should be able to carry a level 1 player through routine, right?

Still, managed to find a group and we got a couple of laggy extractions. The rubberbanding was of epic levels. At one point, I stealthed and ran up to an archer at the back of the group, and as I was about to start murderising, I was suddenly flung back into the previous goddamn room!

Damn, but alchemist is fun though, and I didn't even need to be carried, hell, I was top scorer (not that that means anything). You were right, Jeremiah. You were right.

And where are level 1 characters supposed to level up other than in routine ???  :D

(awaits 'I run my L1 on Perilous' response...)

I got a kick from someone spamming me to enter 'The Room TM

when my Reaver was doing very nicely dealing with the Demon Commander just nearby on 'The Stairs TM'.

Seriously guy, routine lobbies are for over-levelled, over-geared 1337 pro players. No Caliban on your Lego? GTFO. Playing a Lego? GTFO. Playing any class that isn't AW or firestorm spam ele? GTFO. (Templars will be tolerated only if you constantly brag about how you solo perilous with your penis wrapped in bacon and a hungry alsation between your legs)

Haha, I love the room. The smaller, the better. Kiting RTC is for n00bs, real pros facetank him with an archer.

Today was a first. I dropped into a routine game with three level twenties. Convinced myself they were there for the routine challenge to make myself feel better before moving on. Otherwise, plain sailing. Very plain, in fact.

I do find myself regularly tanking bosses with my archer. Technically my own fault, but it's hard to resist long shotting a nicely formed line. As long as you save your leaping shot for when you need it and use the boss to line up a few long shots, no worries. People do seem to prefer that face method though.

Treasure Rooms are like the siren's song to PUGs. In the middle of a fight, they head to either open the room, to spam the "come here" button in front of the room, or to trigger the guardians, instead of finishing the current fight and then getting treasure. Wonderful.

You should never auto-kick a level one from a routine mission. That's rude and flat-out pisses me off. What are these wussies doing in routine together anyway?

Instabombing on super-easy doesn't make you tough. If I play on routine as a high-level I always look out for the lower levels. Granted not everyone appreciates being carried, but kicking them out? Someone should get flogged.

/end rant

So these bugs.... they seem to come in streaks.

I swear there is a barrier boycott with Keeper's today. EVERY PUG game I have played to day had ONE keeper who refused to cast barrier until the end of the Zone 5 AFTER boss dies.

I don't get it. You see your team mates dying. I even pick your elf butt off the ground twice before Zone 5. So instead of, I don't know, spamming barrier on yourself so I don't have to revive you or better yet, putting up barrier on your front line warriors you are just gonna spam auto attack and Energy Barrage?

Gawd...

Some keepers don't even have barrier. Which is sacrilege imo. If you want to spec into the other tree, that's fine, but you start with barrier. at least take it with you and use it when you can.

Edit: Energy barrage sucks

The game hates me today. CTD, driver crash, host migration failed, unable to move after joining the game, extreme lag, grandma behind the closed door.

No grandma in my case and video drivers behaved, but all the rest were there. I quit after about an hour of struggle.

There is a good thing about it, as it does not have screen shakes.

That's it, then! No more wondering what I could've done better. Things will be going so well from here on out!

Really, my least favorite Room Experience is...I think it's in the Elven Ruins where it's just that longish narrow lane with these little alcove things off to the side. The whole area outside is a giant square with these great longshot opportunities if you stand in a corner but no.

What's really outside that room? Demons? Venatori? Red Templars? I'm starting to wonder if it's just Mother Giselle threatening to sing and everyone is fleeing in terror and your party has the misfortune of standing in their way.

There are two strategies aren't there  :)

  • Deal with the treasure room before getting aggro from the next mob.
  • Deal with the treasure room after defeating the next mob.

But the 'come here' spamming when other party members are fighting is silly...

My most recent notable pug was on Sunday, when I was helping the PS3 community finish up the Community Weekend Challenge.  Ran into a group of pugs who were talking to each other on their mics.  Oddly, it seemed like they knew each other, but listening more intently on what they were saying to each other said otherwise.  I was playing as my Keeper with a Reaver, an Archer, and an Elementalist.  You know what's sad?  They were legitimately surprised when they saw me Barriering the entire party.  Seriously, Barrierless Keeper is that common on DA MP?  Seriously?   -_-

Anyway, back to the matches.  We were on Threatening and were steamrolling everything.  Granted, everyone was playing as high-level and well-geared characters, but even with that in mind, we were doing very well.  I would've turned on my mic and started talking to them, but I was listening to music and didn't want to drown the lobby, so I waited until I was done listening to it.  Played quite a few matches with them and wouldn't you know, after I finished listening to my music, we got to the last zone (this was in the Orlesian Chateau) and I got the dreaded map glitch.  I couldn't leave the last room or I would fall and respawn right back inside it, and I couldn't see the enemies, so I was completely useless.  So, I turned on my mic and let them know what was going on (the Reaver switched to an Alchemist and the Elementalist switched to a Reaver while the Archer switched to an Elementalist, forgot to switch out staves before starting the match, then said he'd leave and rejoin after switching out) so the Alchemist said he'd try to keep me covered (this was against Red Templars, btw) and the Reaver got taken down a couple times.  I got taken down a second time, then fell to the point where I was below the map on the Alchemist's screen, so no revive for me.  Just as well, considering the circumstances.

The Reaver went down for the last time and the Alchemist had to kite the Red Templar Commander who had 1/4 health left (according to the Reaver) and, right before the Alchemist got taken down, the Elementalist dropped in and kited the Commander before reviving the Alchemist, who then kept kiting him and dropping Elemental Mines.  The Elementalist got taken down, but the Alchemist managed to kill the Commander with 1 last set of Elemental Mines.  Would've been much easier had I not gotten the map glitch, but we still managed to finish the match.

We kept playing match after match until one of the pugs said he had to go to sleep (this was around 7-8 am), but not before throwing me a friend request, which I quickly accepted.  One of the other pugs tossed me a friend request too and again, I accepted.  The last pug didn't send me a friend request, but it didn't seem like he was really paying attention at the time, so I shrugged it off.

Overall: 10/10, would- and probably will- pug again.   ;)

Barrier-less Keepers are a thing that I've gotten used to seeing, even if I can't understand what they think they are doing.  However, the guard-less Lego was formerly a myth--until this weekend.  Now I've seen the horror, the awful truth with my own eyes, and I'm not sure that I'll ever be okay again.

To this day, I'm still not sure whether "he" (or more likely, it) was just trolling, or was some sinister alien intelligence here on a scouting mission.

Some things you can't unsee, bro.

I snuck into a threatening game in progress with my freshly promoted elementalist, managed to out damage the high level assassin, who also didn't finish wave 5 yet I somehow did.

Had a very entertaining couple of matches just now.

I got into a lobby of what I assume are new-ish players - no portraits, no titles. Alchemist, Katari, and an Archer fairly leveled for Threatening. I went in with my Archer thinking, hey, we'll likely do dps well enough that the Katari doesn't drop before all the enemies are killed. Long story short, we wiped on 3/5 against Red Templars.

So we go back to the lobby and for some strange reason I start thinking, you know what, I'm not giving up on these guys. Thankfully I had a level 19 Legionnaire all set up to go. The game starts, and I'm just praying that we don't get Demons as the screen loads. And we get... Venatori! Awesome! We went on with it, the others still weren't doing too well. The Alchemist and Katari were in perma-fade by 3/5 so it was mostly the Archer and me cleaning up (painfully slowly, as I don't have offensive skills on my Legionnaire).

In the end, Alchemist and Katari went down again, but we managed to beat it. It was tiring and definitely wasn't a clean run by any means, but I had fun!  It was a nice change from lobby hopping just to get the run of the mill matches done.

I played my lv 16 ele with a friend on his reaver on threatening.  We had two pug keepers and I was the only one casting barrier!!!  I was fawking flabbergasted to say the least.  The keepers were downed multiple times and perma-died on 5/5 but we managed to take out RTC.  You know, static cage is a wonderful thing....but come on......seriously?!!!  Get farking barrier and be the got damn barrier biatch you were born to be!
