thats the spirit.
I had a good few matches, free of arcane warriors - which was nice.
Switched to my archer as my team already had two reavers and a keeper and I initially wanted to play my Templar, and then proceeded to pretty much carry them for three matches. Apologies if you were in the group, can't have been very fun with almost nothing to kill.
I screwed up an assassin run on perilous. I got caught by an archer's swag shot on round 5 red templars and we wiped, which is probably due to the fact that I went down.
Sorry boys.
On a better note, I went on to repeat the game this time using Penguin's Keeper Vanguard build (I use chain lightning instead of cage, but it's essentially the same) and we extracted. That build is ridiculously good defensively for your team. 3 short cooldown abilities and Clean Burn means my cd on barrier is stupid short.
I really like that it excels at short range, meaning I can always be by the melees who need barrier the most. On normal builds I have to make a choice, keep myself safe or keep other people safe. I can keep everyone safe with this build. EVERYONE. AHAHAHA.
speaking again of arcane warrior, was doing some test necro runs on threatening pugs, testing combos like mind blast+walking bomb etc to see what I like and how reckless I can play, like fade steping into mobs and going rambo (without barrier on me), was lvl11 with a group of higher level keeper and archer I think, we where doing just fine. actually the usual, wiped all the mobs with wb + mindblast really fast, when playing organized. then at area 4, some arcane warrior decides to join our game. we go into a treasure room while the arcane warrior decides to rambo the areas mob, and dies. I lulz, I do not revive the arcane warrior on purpose even as he is crawling pathetically towards me and just concentrate on destroying all the units coming at me, he quits in frustration. it costs the keeper unfortunately an extra life and makes the final area 5 more challenging, but we finish the game.
Not going to say which class (care to guess? lol), but I got into a pug where one guy kept rushing through enemy lines by himself while the rest of the team was miles away in the middle of opening a treasure room. You'd think he'd get the idea after getting downed the first few times, but nope. ![]()
My last game crashed at the end of zone 4, twinsies!!!
But I was having a very good spell of games before that happened so my salt level is low right now.
Crash buddies!
Well today was a lot better than yesterday, ran some Perilous pugs with my Keeper while trying out some of the weakening passives in the primal tree, specifically Smothering Veil and Twisting Veil. Not sure if I'm seeing any difference in the damage the enemies do, the poor Alchemist in our group still died pretty quick. I'll need to pay more attention to see if I'm doing more damage though. More trial and error is required methinks.
Anyways, I got Narnia'ed on Zone 5 during one run and had to get on my mic to inform my group. The only thing I could do to help was spam Barrier around me and hitting whoever was near. It worked for a little while, but we eventually got overwhelmed, felt really bad, but next run was fine. Nice contrast from last night.

omg, your mentor is Kenny Bania! He's a hack!
I met that guy last night, you know the one, the one that just never ever stops talking, not even for a breath and he is constantly telling you how with just one more, just one more skill point and he'll be able to clutch the whole level and he shares a constant and endless stream of advice on how to play your class and while he's not consistently wrong, he's also a long way from giving the best advice and while he's talking he is just baffled by how is it possible that he got hit or how he could have possibly face planted and dude, check this stat I now crit 52%, dude that is literally a crit every time!!! Umm, nope, it's not dude, it is LITERALLY a crit every OTHER attack.
He's the guy telling me how amazing this Blue ring is he's wearing and how if we all get one we will never die.
I didn't have the heart to tell him I was wearing two of them, and I'm still waiting for my improvement on them...
Regardless, I'd play with him again as he was harmless, not a weak player; just not quite as amazing as he'd convinced himself he was and the banter was good for a few LOLs as long as I muted myself so I didn't have to explain the laughter.
i prestiged my Mighty AW. got my ass kicked.
then next game i was level 6. had a good game.
AW is OP at lv6

I was tricked by grammatical semantics! My comeback was sabotaged!
The assassin. My god. It was only threatening but I played a few matches against Venatori where wave 5 had maybe 10 enemies since I killed the commader so fast. One Hidden Blades and half of a flank attack, she was dead. With buffs here and there I was getting crits up to 1900 with regular attacks.

Are you by any chance playing on XB1?

My new favourite thing to do is on wave 4 chateau when you walk over that bridge thing that overlooks the last group of enemies, if you get kill the target you can Hidden Blades and get your bonus gold about 10 seconds after getting in the wave.

Careful, the assassin is addictive

I had gotten hooked to the alchemist, but when my crits hit twice as hard with the assassin it makes it hard to want to play anything else.
My thoughts from a series of PUG matches last night:
- Holy hell, the Necromancer is a DPS beast. And this was my first (almost, more on that later) promotion with her. And for all the AW hate, they're always welcome with my death-loving madam. Pull of the Abyss + Blizzard + Walking Bomb = LOLOLOLOLOLOL
- Joined some REALLY good PUGs (PS4). In one case, it was 3 guys who knew each other, welcomed me into their merry band, and proceeded to slaughter Threatening matches for a while.
We then went into Perilous.
First match, first stage, first room: ALL HAIL BRONTO MASTER RACE. I said, on comms, "Hey, just let [the Venatori and the bronto] fight for a while." ON CUE, AS IF THEY HEARD MY VOICE, the Venatori and the bronto put aside their differences and massacred us.
Second match, third stage, the bane of my ice-tossing Necromancer: Unfreezeable Despair Demons. Welp.
Still, a great time.
- I didn't actually promote. I've never had so many CTDs (PS4) in one night. I wonder if something's changed, either on Bioware's side or on my network's side, or if I just had an unlucky night. After the 4th CTD, I gave up, a match or so short of promotion. Very frustrating.
1. Walking bomb is so much fun and a good Arcane Warrior is awesome to have, not the ones that want to spam their laser swords and nothing else.
2. Yeah Perilous can be merciless, but even if it's kicking your ass, with a fun group of people it's still entertaining.
3. Yeah the CTD's seem to be happening more, not enough to just make me say 'Screw this' and stop playing, but enough to get me good and annoyed. And one game short of a promotion due to CTD leaves me full of vinegar ![]()
Did some more Perilous Pugs this morning with my Weakened Passives and it feels like I'm contributing more, I can at least do my fair share of the killing. Trying to keep track of how frequently I weaken and debuff the mobs, but it gets hard to pay attention to that on the big pulls. At least I'm succeeding 75% of the time ![]()

I just played my weirdest pug match yet playing Tevinter Ruins on Perilous. All was going fine, until we reach 5/5 and the map went all wonky. It looked like I was underwater, everything was all murky and there was weird scrubby grass everywhere, with these square craters in the ground. Every time I tried to move I fell through the floor and was teleported back into what I can only imagine was the doorway, since my teammates kept throwing traps there, and I took damage every time I popped in.There's me... taking a nap at the bottom of the sea, apparently. If my teammates read this, I can only hope that it was even funnier looking on your end than it was on mine.
You found Narnia. Congrats! Or maybe you found Rapture... in which case, yeah, same outcome.
ITT: Crimson is OP and needs a nerf.
