My last successful pug was my first successful perilous run ever! I wanna personally thank God, my parents and the AW.

He carried my noob a$$ to glory, bless you Cillian. I also got a FR from this too, thanks for the games MR-JC91 even though I sorta defo murdered the team in the last game by opening that treasure room, my bad. ![]()

Incoming long post!
Decided to pug a Routine on my level 9 Keeper and got a group with Legionaire and another Keeper who were new to the game. They were two friends who were talking on the in-game voice chat because apparently PSN's Party chat was broken? (Their words not mine.) They were really chatty, which was fine, mostly talking about saving up money for another large chest from the store and such.
I took it upon myself to be kind of like their silent bodyguard, keeping them barrier'ed and focusing on the stalkers/archers to ensure they'd make it through each pull safely. We get to Zone 5 against Venatori in the Elven Ruins easily enough. The newbies didn't know about using the font room as a funnel and just charged out to the banner, which for this one was right in the center of that pit thing, nice big wide open area for the archers to pick at us. I thought about getting on voice chat and informing them about using "The Room." But then decided, "Screw it." I'll see if I can get them through it this way.
We almost get through the entire battle with neither new person getting downed. Unfortunately I tunnel-visioned for a little bit trying to pick off a few archers and noticed off in the distance a lone Venatori Archer taking potshots at the other Keeper. His health is low and his barrier is almost gone, he's asking for help on the voice chat.
The Venatori archer nocks another arrow...
I Fade Step towards the Keeper, hitting my barrier button as fast as I could, but right as I get there the other Keeper drops.
I had failed! ![]()
Still successfully completed the run, albeit I failed my personal goal ![]()
We get back to the lobby and the new guys are like "Let's try threatening I want to see what it's like." I wince, as my Keeper was missing some passives I like to have for Threatening, but I figure it was another challenge I could tackle for myself. Of course, we get Red Templars, I am not a fan of Red Templars ![]()
We get to Zone 5, the new guys have been downed once or twice, nothing big. Plant the banner and the chaos begins. Eventually, despite my best efforts, the two newbies and the third member of our party enter the fade, leaving only me, the boss, and a bunch of red templars.
I almost do it, I had only the small melee templars left with one red templar knight. I take a gamble and blow all of my abilities to burn down the red templar knight as with my build, he was the biggest threat. I kill him and then immedately the boss jumps on me, with everything on cooldown and no pots left, I could only watch helplessly as the boss and the few remaining red templars cut my Keeper down
was still fun though and the new guys seemed entertained with my mad scramble to try and stay alive ![]()
I do one more run. Our fourth member leaves and we get a level 19 Archer who had the different colored initial armor. Elven Ruins again, this time we get Demons. We make it through fine, some close calls for the new guys. Again, I'm the silent bodyguard, keeping the stalkers and archers off of them as best as I could. I also would make any treasure rooms they missed pop up on the minimap, which they picked up on and proceed to loot.
We make it to Zone 5, the newbies stay alive almost to the end, but fighting out in the open with stray wraiths plus the Demon Commander aggroed on them equals dead party members. Of course I did what I could with barriers and killing off as many mobs as I could, but sometimes you can't save'em all
. The archer and I finish the boss off and the new guys were really excited about it over voice chat. I was glad for them.
After that I took my leave, gotta get sleep for tomorrow.

You know what I don't like? When someone teleports everyone to the font room just as the others have finished hacking away at a Revenant. It's like... can't you wait just a few more seconds for us to, you know, actually loot the treasure chest?
Sometimes, I swear...

At Stage 2-3 ish, my group got joined by another Hunter, naturally whielding LBOTG.
Guy rushed ahead in every instance, left us fend off treasure room guardians etc on our own. I revived the guy twice before we even made it to the boss fight -each time he had been overwhelmed by a group of mobs on his own- and he got downed during it, too. We had two guys spamming Barrier whenever possible.
At the end of the match, he had outscored me regardless o.0
I usually don't give a rat's behind on my score (though I feel uncomfortably high-maintenance if I don't get the Immortal medal), since I just try to keep the crowd neatly poisoned, spiketrap-bodyguard the mages and take out enemy casters; since you always have a guy doing enough damage around. But I will say I'm not simply not used to doing that bad on paper. I'm usually second only to AWs or skilled mages. Obviously his weapon does three times the damage (the best I have is a lvl 22 rare with HoH - 4 months in), but I really don't know which approach is preferable at this point. It's just, like he wasn't even trying.
I now question everything I have ever known. WHAT IS REAL?
TL;DR Dear RNGesus I want an LBOTG. And a pony.

I would also like one of these. The bow, not the pony. Too much responsibility.
I think you're in the same position as me. I've been using my Bow of Cruel Redemption for a long, long time. Not that the crits and heals aren't nice.

If I see the health font being triggered I'll do a 'fall back' call in those circumstances.
At least they can't say they didn't know if they do press ahead.

Yup. That's just the one.
Though honestly I wish there were more variety. If the damage difference weren't so severe, I'd gladly hold on to it.

Favourite PUG conversation last night was a random player proclaiming quite randomly how old his college Economics professor is that he wants essays handed in on paper doesn't know how to scan essays checking for plagiarism and how he is going plagiarise the snot out of his papers for this old prof.
In itself some rather odd banter, but whatever.
Then this small (older?) voice chimes in from a much more quietly playing Necro that says, "I'm just going to close my college professor ears and pretend I didn't hear that"
It went silent after that, but in my heart of hearts I so badly want that Necro to actually be a college Eco prof that asks for essays to be handed in on paper...

Carried by AW on Perilous ![]()
With my low promotions, Demons are still really bad as Katari... Biower plz buff the big horny one!
Not helped by an archer made out of paper, and a Keeper who barely cast Barrier (not that i ever expect that).

I had one where it tried to load me in right at the end, I just got hung up for like 30 seconds and ended up back in the lobby with the people who just finished, yet it still gave me the xp.

We had a Reaver who killed stuff for the first two rounds then on round 3 n' 4 kept spamming come over here for some weird reason, he/she dropped or left at the final stage. AW, an archer and my necro worked pretty well finishing off the last stage, few games previous to that one were unsuccessful but

on my final game of the night when we bumped into each other again, so it worked out for both of us, you more so, that was jammy. ![]()

I do a quick ping too when I see someone closing in on the font room. This particular instance, the guy - two of them now that I think back on it, so it could have been either of them really - was already waiting by the entrance of the next zone when the rest of us were getting to work on the Revenant. So... I don't know what happened there. ![]()
