Tip: Try another class.
You now have more Perilous runs than I do.
I hate you.
Not really.
Maybe just a teensy bit of jelly...
Number of successful gold missions 1, number of face-planted attempts 10. Learning to use crutches again priceless. When you fail at everything else there is always the AW.

Not cheesey enough, and she doesn't have blades and she has a bad haircut. Keeper needs a stylist bioware pls.

Ah, in that case you have tried more often than I have.
Number of successes: 1. Number of hosts who stealth-switched from Threatening to Perilous without me noticing: 1. Number of times I've had the balls to try since then: 0

Wanna play who has the most disconnects, bet I'll win.
Got matched up with an AW and a Keeper while on my Elementalist in Perilous. Ended up completing 6 matches before failing the 7th on Stage 5. I had just promoted back up to level 9 and was lacking some key stuff that made we very squishy which didn't help. Was great fun and bumped my Perilous wins from 9 to 15 ![]()

You could stop playing tomorrow while I played another 5 years and you'd still have already won.
I recently switched from Fire Pillar (or Pillar of Fire, or whatever it's called, you know what it is) to Fire Mine on my Elementalist, tried it out on my last several pug matches, and I'm loving it. Always feel like a boss when I hear my Fire Mine going off in the distance. I'm all, "Ah, yes, you've utterly been crushed by my explodey magey genius".
And then the next enemy comes along and casually strolls 1 millimeter past where I plant the damn thing. ![]()

I see you've stuck with your ME3MP motto of only ever playing the most OP kit.....
You mean Wall of Fire?
...Probably, yes, thank you. The spell where you cast that wall... of fire... yes.
Was playing against red templars on tevinter ruins I believe. I was playing my Lego and my team had decided they wanted to fight in the center area instead of the room. No big deal, my Lego can hold his own. Somehow in the fight I didn't notice the commander about to use his whirlwind move. He knocks me back and I was thrown into this tiny space surrounded by red lyrium crystals and boxes. Apparently in this particular spot, if he is standing in front of you using whirlwind you get stuck in place and can't escape. That move feels like it lasts so much longer when you are trapped and have to take every single hit.
As this is my first thread to reach 50 pages, I'd like to thank god, nerds, gamers, the inspiration to steal the idea for the thread from someone else, and that painting in my attic that none of you are supposed to know about.

IT WAS RESEARCH CRIM IT WAS RESEARCH FOR A FILM ROLE
So at the end of a perilous match last night the damn demon commander had it in for my elementalist the whole last wave and I was running for my life and doing the odd attack while the rest of the team removed the mook rabble. We get down to just the DC and he is still after me. i am running around assuming the group is attacking him from a distance (we had no tanks) and I start hearing the 'over hear!' shout. I see all three other players are standing in one area and after a few more seconds I realize they are standing over a fire mine.
I can see what they have in mind but I don't like it, finally after a few more shouts I do their bidding and run over to them all standing on the fire mine 'trap' well out pops the DC and kills one guy puts me to walking dead and scatters the other guys,
Is this a thing these days putting mines down and then using players as bait vs the DC for when he pops up?
Well if you are an elementalist who can put a mine down, and use barrier so you don't die then yes. I find my best matches are when someone tanks the boss off by itself and others kill adds. Why on earth all of them would be standing around on a mine I have no clue. Once DC agros he is going to stay on you until you die for the most part so really, they should have all been way the heck away and left the mine to be used by you.
Last Night did a few Perilous runs, first one was with 2 Arcane Warriors, an Archer and myself as a Keeper(Shocking I know.) Venatori on Tevinter Ruins. At like Zone 3 or 4 we get a giant as well. I have never fought a giant on Perilous and we manage to kill every mob except him, should be simple with just one giant right?
WRONG!
The giant crushes the arcane warriors into oblivion, I dodge him for a bit, but screw up my timing once and he proceeds to just smash my face in. There's a mad scramble of revives that go out, but eventually the giant just crushes us all into paste. Epic fail on our part. Group breaks up after that.
Second Perilous game, Orlesian Chateau, Red Templars(Ugh). Group is a Katari, Archer, Elementalist and myself as a Keeper. On Zone 5 we use the font room and do a good job of holding it for a solid minute or so. Unfortunately, I aggro the RTC so I start to kite him in the back of the room. I tunnelvision a little bit to make sure I don't die to his attacks, but during that time the Archer and the Katari get downed at the door entrance. The only thing keeping the mobs from completely swarming us is the elementalist's firestorm and our downed teammates are right in the middle of the swarm. And with me in the back with the RTC, it would be very difficult to get to them in time and not manage to die while getting beat on by the fodder.
So we had to leave them to die and enter the fade ![]()
The elementalist continues to do an admirable job of holding the wave of mobs back with his abilities, I would throw a barrier on him whenever I passed him while kiting and throw out a chain lightning that would usually proc a sleep on one or two mobs, then go back to kiting. Using this method, we manage to kill all the mobs and then work on the RTC. It took longer than a usual run, but it was tense and exciting! I guess the rest of the group didn't think so because they immediately dropped out when we got to the lobby ![]()
*snip*

I don't see how effective it would be if all players are under the same Fire Mine... Seems like a recipe for a wipe. But, using Fire Mine to asplode the DC as he pops out is very effective in my experience. As long as only the person who has aggro gets on top of the Mine, I guess?

Please give us the definition of 'carrying', most people do not want or need to be carried in this game. Most often AW and 'carrying' means running off a ahead ignoring the rest of the group killing whole spawns then jumping through the door before the rest of the team is finished doing what they want. AW rep is becoming pretty justified because about 15 of the last 20 I've played with have been dickwads.

Yeah that is what I thought. I was having a tough time just keeping barrier up with my sliver of health. I have never use these mines, is fire mine worth it as far as big damage goes?

I hate playing with AWs but I still like using mine. I tunnel vision sometimes and need to remind myself to slow down but for the most part if I'm ahead of the group I'll always wait until they catch up. Doesn't kill someone to stand still for 5 seconds!
