Just took my hunter through a threatening race with 2 AWs. No doors, no pots, couldn't even hit the healing font because it took too long. Upgraded hook & tackle with griffin bow outscored both of them.
Got a nice hard kick from the lobby after the game.
lol, those Arcane Warriors must have been full of vinegar.
Had some irritating games tonight unfortunately.(WARNING: Incoming long post.)
I actually decided to play my lvl 13ish Elementalist instead of my Keeper as Fire Wall is pretty fun. Join a Threatening game, Orlesian Chateau with a Legionaire(the host), Archer, Alchemist and myself. We get demons as our enemy faction.
I notice the damage is kind of low, but shrug it off as we work our way through the first zone. The lego is doing a good job, all up in the mob's face, taunting, using Walking Fortress and such. The Archer and Alchemist are doing their thing, it's slower than what I'm used to (Guess I've been spoiled.) But stuff is still dying.
And then we get to the first warrior treasure door.
Let me first say that I like playing with new people, helping them get through runs that they might've failed, showing them how to dodge boss' attacks etc. And then there are new people like the Archer and Alchemist.....
Okay so anyways, first warrior treasure door. The Archer and Alchemist are just spamming the "Come Here" command nonstop, but you know how you get those trail of mobs that just keep coming? Yeah we had one of those and the lego had kind of overextended, so I was helping him kill stuff. The Archer and Alchemist? Didn't lift a damn finger even though the mobs were right there.
We finish up the mobs and I stand still and wait to see what the lego would do. He takes a step towards the treasure door, then a step towards me, pauses a second and then heads to the font room. I chuckle a little at that, the Archer and Alchemist continue to spam their command until the lego ports us to the next zone.
The rest of the run consisted of the rogues beelining for any treasure door they could lockpick, unsealing a guardian(Usually when the lego and I were in the middle of a swarm of mobs.) said guardian killing them and them spamming the "Come Here!" Endlessly, to the point I actually went into the options screen midgame to turn down the voice volume so I wouldn't have to hear it anymore.
We make it to zone 5, I plant the banner and run back to the font room. We hold off the mobs pretty well until the Demon Commander aggros on me. I kite him away from the group, usually when I do this the rest of the group finishes up the normal enemies and then helps me take down the boss, not this time. The two rogues go down and of course the screen explodes with glowing shields as they try to get me and the lego to pick them up. But the lego had problems of his own in the form of wraiths and a terror demon. I dropped a fire wall near him while kiting to try and help, but no good. I actually drop before him due to wraiths being spread out and taking potshots at me, whittling down my health. Operation Failed. I leave that lobby irritated at the spamming rogues.
I was so full of vinegar I started a Threatening game of my own switched to my level 20 Keeper(Kept 20 just in case some buddies needed a body for Perilous) and proceeded to solo it. Zone 5 gave me a lot of trouble (Red Templars my most hated faction.) but I managed it through the power of saltiness ![]()
Another game of note was late tonight, had trouble sleeping so decided to hop on and play a few games. This time I'm on my lvl 11 Necromancer, join a Threatening game with another Necromancer(host) and an Archer, Demons is the enemy faction. A level 7 Keeper in the starting armor joins and asks us on voice chat what zone we're in, we answer by porting them to zone 2. Nothing of incident until zone 5.
At Zone 5, I plant the banner and head back to the font room, the Keeper stays out in the open and starts taking concentrated fire from the wraiths so he retreats back to the room with us and says "I hate this ****** room, this strategy is so stupid!" Okay yeah it might not be as good against demons but it still can work. Demon Commander aggros on me again, his first shoryuken downs the Archer and the Keeper once again chimes in "Oh look someone's down already! Big surprise!" I take the Demon Commander out of the room and kite him until the group finishes up the mobs (In the font room.)
We regroup, kill the boss, get back to the lobby screen. I plug in my mic and say "Just want to say the font room strategy might not be as strong against demons, but it still works. You guys still killed everything." or something like that. I was expecting a rude reply from the Keeper, I saw his mic Q'ed up a few times, but he didn't say anything and I waited a good twenty seconds for a response, nothing. I guess he wasn't planning on anyone saying anything? Either way I left that group. Gonna try and get some more sleep now ![]()
I joined a Threatening match in-progress with a bunch of low-level guys who were all using their mics and seemed to know each other, so I went in. After a few really smooth runs to grind out the weekend chests we went to Perilous, which I haven't had a lot of success with yet. After what might have been another three hours of Perilous runs, we only failed the last one. And we only failed that one because they were pushing the boundaries of how low our characters could be (7 and less).
What I learned: Much like ME3CoOp, the most important factors for success in Perilous are positioning and situational awareness. Class, level, gear, promotions -- these things are secondary. Thanks guys for the education.
--edit-- Nice guys too.
Very good, I was a hunter and we had two keepers and an ele. I went down in each of the 1s two waves, stinking RT archers but things settled after that and we extracted on perilous.
Banner kicked.
I'm tired of people standing near a door they can't open spamming their "Come here" button while the rest of us fight enemies nearby. We hear you shouting. Come help fight, THEN we'll open that door for you.
Here friend! Over here pls, HERE!
I have run into a lot more really new people, as in people who haven't made it to a boss for example, this weekend. I don't know if there is a recent influx of players or just chance but the level of inexperience has been very high in my PUG's.

Yeah, I would except River already rushed ahead and killed everything...
...Ok so I have been waiting for a FF reference to be made in response to you, but so far nothing. Welcome to BSN! lol

Yeah right, the majority of people just keep pushing afterwards anyway.
If I wait at a door after a wave clear and I get ignored I'm not gonna help push faster, I'll autoattack most of the time unless I myself am in danger. Neither am I going to pick up those gold pots they keep ignoring thinking someone else will get it.
I'm not their personal gold collector ![]()

Fair enough, just be aware that this normally won't bother the people who don't need the gold. Unless you also fall under that category, you're likely only hurting yourself.
Not that I blame you about this bit. Fighting urns isn't exactly exciting so I'm not going out of my way to pick a fight with one myself; I'm certainly not going to spend an entire game playing gold collector for someone else.

Obligatory like for FF reference.
No routine has always been just that, routine, it's most likely you leveled up your gear and promotion stats. Routine is the difficulty level that you can actually tell if your armor upgrades makes any difference but on perilous you still won't survive 2 arrows regardless. It's same thing with the templar faction, people were commentating in pugs that the rtc got stealth buffed, he did not, it's just that the demon commander got nerfed to oblivion so it's much more apparent how strong he is compared to the other two bosses. Than again, red Templars have always been the toughest faction due to the the ohk shadows and ranged mobs, especially on perilous.
Never understood why the RTC was called strongest boss. Imo he's the weakest. DC and venatori easily do more damage to me than the RTC.
As for my experience today...
Only able to find one perilous lobby, had a threatening lobby that absolutely refused to kick a level 1 assassin leech, and had a bunch of bannerless who insisted on spamming "come here" for treasure rooms NO ONE COULD OPEN.
On the up side, I managed to solo the Red Templars on threatening with the archer and only take a total of 5 hits from beginning to end. Gf and I both counted. Too ez.
Did a match a little while ago on Threatening as my Keeper with a Necromancer, an Alchemist, and an Archer. I kept the team Barriered as much as possible and everyone seemed to know what they were doing, especially the Necromancer. Got to zone 3 before encountering a warrior wall, which both the rogues decided to camp at while spamming "OVER HERE!!!"
Me and the Necro both just looked at each other and made our way to the last mob while the 2 rogues stayed behind, trying to get us to go over to them. Cleared the last mob pretty quickly with a Veilstrike-Blizzard-Chain Lightning combo before dragging the Archer and Alchemist to the next zone.
Extracted, but the highlight of that was me and the Necro going on to finish the zone while the Archer and Alchemist stayed at the wall. Only had that happen once before with pugs, though it was only a 1 pug instead of 2. Was pretty funny, actually.
2 games threatening with assassin.
fun.
Well I was pugging late last night and I eventually bumped into a friend, he was hosting and after we finished a threatening game bumped it up to Perilous. As I ended up promoting most of my mages after I finished the weekend challenge the only one who was gold worthy for me to use level wise was my AW (also not totally comfy in Perilous yet)
Anyway it was a very smooth number of games, the team worked together well and everyone cleared the treasure rooms with ease. Stuck together for a few games. Last game the team broke up so we decided to duo it, was going surprising very well, would have been cool if I happened to pull of a gold duo successfully but another player joined in the 3rd wave, same person who was in an earlier team.

Hey I'm somewhat proud I managed to survive 5 golds so far dammit, even if I am using Mr. Invincible to do it. ![]()
Had a nice string of Perilous games with a smart team tonight. I'm gunning for that title! Only 83 more matches to go. Haha... ha.
used necromancer. love her outfit except the head thingy
fun games.
simulacrum is annoying though.
fed up with us
It's not like that ![]()
I just want to do one act of charity per day and I haven't fulfilled my quota yet and I thought carrying you would count... ![]()
Did a match on Threatening as my Legionnaire with the host as a Legionnaire (was just me and him at first). After clearing the first zone, another Legionnaire drops in and we continue fighting through the match (the new Legionnaire dropped once in each zone afterwards). Onto zone 3, and a 4th Legionnaire drops in as we're mopping up a Revenant. Rest of the match was pretty uneventful and actually pretty quiet. Seems like having 4 Legionnaires traveling together isn't a good way to ensure conversation.
On the upside, everyone actually tried to generate Guard (host had the Magehunter shield while the Ser Dropsalot Legionnaire had the Wintersbreath shield and the 4th one had a regular round shield, iirc). Ser Dropsalot took a trip to the Fade a minute or so into zone 5 and I grabbed the attention of the Venatori Commander, occasionally getting some of the mobs on me as well, who I quickly killed. Eventually got to just the Commander being left and it was me and the 2 surviving Legionnaires just hacking away at her as she tried hammering us with fire spells. Very little effect, considering how I used a Fire Resistance Tonic after the banner was planted.
Other than that, it was pretty uneventful. Was still pretty damn fun, though. Would pug again.
Pity the host switched to an Elementalist and an Arcane Warrior dropped in afterwards. Would've been fun to do another quad-Legionnaire match.

Yeah, now that Boatzu doesn't play much anymore, I'm short on pros to carry me through Perilous... ![]()
Apologies to the group from this morning: I finally have an answer to the question, "Can you not complete the 'kill this target' side mission."
Killed everything. Heard key drop. Headed for door. Red Templar Shadow murders rest of team. Oops.

I had a game on the weekend in which one shadow killed our whole team. Killed me and a player standing right next to me in one shot. Player 3 comes to try and rez, killed. Player 4 who was out in front cleaning up comes back to investigate, killed.
It was one of these bizarre games because the team was pretty good and we were breezing though the levels then within 10 seconds we were all dead.
The lack of a killfeed in this game makes stuff like Red Templar Shadow murder sprees more likely.
In other games you would see something like [JRandall0308] was killed by [Red Templar Shadow] and you'd know to be careful.

yeah, had the odd round like that.
I remember one day playing ME3MP. The team were all experienced players, having good weapons, acc. Problem was, we played like solo artists rather than a team, and because we were spread out we died in dominoe fashion--by wave 2... *facepalm and LOL*
