I wonder what a "Firm Tournament" is?

I guess it is better for the ego than 'Flaccid tournament axe.'

Perhaps they wanted to play catch up with kills/score but this is a co op game and if someone kills everything and carries everyone, we all get the allotted Xp afterwards.

I feel like a good chunk of the casual player base doesn't understand that all exp is shared and that all gold is shared.

I've had pretty bad pug experiences the last couple of days.  I ran my lvl 1 hunter through routine with a 20 lego who had original inquisition gear, 20 ele with about the same, and 19 necro with upgraded armor.  I figured it would be a cake walk.  We got templars.  It was a cake walk through hell.  Somehow I roflstomped them all with my massively OP exploding shot.  I felt bad for killing everything so I tried to let the others kill stuff, but that actually entailed me standing next to them watching them beat on mobs for 10 to 20 seconds to get a kill.  I really just wanted a nice fast 3 levels but this run took forever.  They wanted to open every door and get every 11 gold pot.  The necro actually went perma fade by the middle of 2/5, pwnt by an arcane horror.  The lego had apparently taken some kind of "dps build" because I never saw a single bar of guard on him and he felt the need to run ahead constantly and get killed after aggroing everything.  The two casters went perma fade in 5/5 and the lego was nowhere to be seen, running around the whole map trying to get kills, I guess.  I actually managed to kite and kill RTC while cleaning up mooks in the process.

Then they kicked me when we went back to lobby.

How dare you carry them. I'd not only kick you but try to get you banned.

I decided to finally try my first perilous game and loaded into one in progress with an alchemist, elementalist, and templar.  There were two perilous icons and one banner, plus I was trying the mindblast/frost step/static cage build for the first time, so it seemed like the perfect moment for me to faceplant and look like the worst keeper ever but things went well. The alchemist switched to a 13 hunter for the next game and we had another smooth run except for one exciting moment that looked like a wipe.  Overall it was a lot of fun and not a bad way to break into perilous :)

I see the same names in pugs reg, maybe our pool isn't as big as I thought.

That's the ping limiting function on matchmaking. You're very unlikely to ever see anyone in a PuG outside a limited regional pool.

It was the Demon Commander that wouldn't die. Or have his attacks blocked by Shield Wall. He was on his last pip of health for two minutes, but nothing would damage him.

He eventually stunlocked all four party members to death, even though there were no other demons backing him up.

DC fights back against the nerf!

I had an amazing PuG Lego in Perilous today. Even after the entire team whelped against the Demon Commander, he expertly tanked and murdered the remaining demons, the DC, and then proceeded (I'm assuming, after it faded to black) to spit on our useless corpses.

Hats off to that dude. You give me hope. Unlike most everything else in my life.

Was playing as my Katari to level him up for the Weekend Challenge.  Got up to level 9 on Routine before the host  -switched it to Threatening on the Orlesian Chateau.  It was pretty much a train wreck.

Had an lowish level Alchemist with starter armor, a mid-teen level Archer with starter armor, and a mid-level Assassin with starter armor.  I'd been pretty much carrying them through Routine for the most part, mowing down rows of enemies.  When we started the Threatening match, we ended up with demons and got a great bear show up right off the bat.  The Alchemist went down and I took a beating, but we managed to kill it.  Went down the main passage past a mage door and fought through the Rage demon, Shades, and occasional Deepstalker, the Alchemist getting downed yet again in the fighting.  Found a rogue door and opened it up, grabbing the chest as we made our way through the shortcut.  Let the Archer open up the door and I charged through, plowing through 3 Shades, a Rage demon, and a Terror demon.  I was hammering away at them and just before the last 2 were taken down, I got downed.  Immediately got revived and went through the next zone with little issue.

Got to zone 3 and made it to the last treasure room before the Alchemist decided to draw the last mob towards us, a nice long line of Shades coming towards us.  I charged right through them and hit them with a Mighty Blow, killing a couple before I started hammering away at the rest.  Then a Pride demon showed up, backed by 2 Fear demons.  I switched my attention to the Pride demon and, for whatever reason, found myself without backup.  Got downed by the Pride demon with only one Fear demon left, and the Assassin Twin Fanged the Pride demon from stealth before reviving me.  After the last 2 demons were down, we went into the treasure, only to find it guarded by a revenant, who then took me down for the 3rd time in the match.  Got through zone 4 fairly smoothly, though there was a couple close-calls.

Got to zone 5 and the Assassin went to drop the banner.  The demons started spawning in and I met a Shade outside The Room before smashing it into paste.  Then started charging through the map, trying to find something to hit (damn Wraiths kept dodging before I could hit them), only to get the Demon Commander locked on me.  I figured that I may as well keep the Demon Commander off the others, so I kited him around the map, killing whatever adds I could.  While I did that, the Alchemist got downed and took a trip to the Fade and it seemed like the Archer and Assassin were doing a pretty decent job of holding off the adds.

After another minute or so of kiting the Commander around, I saw that the Archer was down in The Room and the Assassin was nowhere in sight.  Decided to risk it and charged my way to the Archer from across the zone, getting hit a few times.  After I revived the Archer, I saw that the Assassin was down as I charged out of The Room, so I went in a circle and went to pick him up, only to get humped by a Fear demon and hit by several Wraiths.  I ended up taking a trip in the Fade and less than 5 seconds later, the Archer was down yet again.

The thing is, we might've been able to extract if the Assassin had tried to revive the Archer instead of trying to get kills, but of course, that would've been too much for him to do.

Meh, on the upside, I got to level 11 and completed the Weekend Challenge.  Topped the scoreboard too and after I finished leveling up my Katari, I saw that everyone else had left.  I just shrugged and followed suit.

Okay, so what's with this challenge and people rushing? At least 2 AWs or 2 Keepers per group wherever you go. Sure you get the EXP earlier, but why bother playing at all then? It's not like it's supposed to be a chore, especially with this challenge which basically encourages you to just... play.

Not to mention that one can also clear it by playing successfully in a normal Routine group just 3 times.

Maybe I just had bad luck, but all PuGs I joined last night were utterly terrible o.0

Teamed up with a Necro, Keeper, Lego and me with my Alchemist for some threatening. Everyone did great, we took our time and actually waited for people to break pots gather gold etc. It was so much fun, no one was score whoring with the AW and we actually worked together as a team.

Oh my god... Where has Spirit Mark been all my life? I've been having giggle fits all night!   My last few pugs consisted of teammates attacking Spirit Mark'd enemies, teammates curiously posing beside/in front of Spirit Mark'd enemies, and a Spirit Mark'd Bogfisher ramming enemies to death.

Whoa whoa whoa, watch where you're swinging that thing!

My first games were awkward, like some weird speedrun panic attack to get 10 levels that resulted in an excessive number of deaths.  Luckily after that I found myself duoing in routine with a level 1 hunter on my level 1 keeper, got to play with a friend who joined us for a while (before blackscreens did their work), picked up a reaver and alchemist, bumped up to threatening a little earlier than usual and had some really fun games.  I hear a lot of pug horror stories on here so it seems I have incredible luck finding nice people to play with.
