I learned there are those that do not understand the difference between carrying and clutching.

Just because your character can SURVIVE when the DPS goes down and you might be able to whittle down a boss for 8.5 minutes of attacks with an eventual win does not mean you were carrying anyone.

If you had used your survivability to help the DPS to stay up instead of running away to face a third of a Perilous map on your own leaving two thirds for the glass cannon to face you might have discovered that together we could have cleared the map in a tenth of the time it took you to "carry".

If things do hit the fan and you can scratch your way to a win, HURRAY!  But when your bad play creates the excrement on the fan, you weren't carrying.

No enemies to fight, no barrier to gain :P

What if they attacked... each other??  :o Barrier forever.

Tried soloing threatening with my necro cuz my Internet was actin up. Was fighting venatori so it wasn't too hard until wave 4. Had a druffalo in the second spawn who fighting the venatori until I got too close. Druffalo hate me way more than the venatori, and they are immune to freeze :( Needless to say I wiped. Shoulda had spirit mark.

You can panic them using horror.

Been pretty busy these past few days, had one series of 3 games.  First one was a Threatening with a Reaver, Legionaire and I think Archer, can't remember exactly.  Tevinter Ruins with Demons.  It was kind of a rough run on the first game, but we made it.  The second and third game we got roflstomped.  At first I thought I had messed up on my build or accidentally equipped the wrong staff.  Didn't realize that the host had switched it to Perilous, whoops!

Also had another couple of Perilous games with a group of 3 friends on voice chat.  They were the treasure hunter sort, wanting all the gold from the pots and the treasure rooms, that's fine.  We open a room in the Tevinter Ruins and I'm waiting by the treasure chest ready to barrier the team.  Two of them arrive, but the third keeps yelling at me to get to the chest(the one I was already at.) so that I could barrier them all(what I already intended to do.).  I really need to find my mic again.  Anyways, one of his other friends finally speaks up and says I was already there.  Still, left me to wonder how he could have missed me, it's not like I'm hard to spot .

At one point in zone 3, they all get downed and go to the fade, and I had to finish off the last handful of mobs myself.  It was rough, not gonna lie.  The last two mobs I had were two venatori spellbinders who kept doing their little fade step all over the place.  Eventually got them down and we make it to the last pull in Zone 4 where the archers ruin us.  Once again I was the last one standing, but this time I mess up and get turned into an elven pincushion, run unsuccessful.  Ah well, can't win'em all.

I tend to barrier centred on myself, because it's faster and more convenient than playing 'chase the party member'.
But I will try to stay close to either the action or the ranged group, so that I usually barrier one or two others at the same time.

Yup, this. Run in, drop barriers, leave a big old static cage in the toilet, run away Month Python style.

"oh my" perilous pug with full party against demons. I did not believe the stats at the end :o   . 121 staff kills, 88 ability kills as necro. my best record so far. just got my fury of the veil, - fully upgraded of course and having a blast with it :-)

Finally had a perilous win vs demons after about 4 or 5 early game wipes.  Bad luck but moreso people treating perilous like casual or threat by just barging into spawns.

I know u said ur rolling with necro, but really try to land wide-hitting attacks like fade step, chain lightning, firestorm, etc. with that staff. It's glorious.

Just did a threatening match with the host running a reaver and, unfortunately, a mic. Got to listen to him complain about not drawing aggro as a warrior. 5 seconds later he was a pincushion from a whole spawn of venatori archers.

yeah I use fade step, fade cloak, and walking bomb they all hit multiple targets that is why it so effective. and ice mine with virulent pssive for control, that is what I consider the best build. usual sequence is: 1.) lay an ice mine in the middle of a mob, preferable in the middle of an archer group but really at the center of the mob. 2.) tag an archer standing near the mine with a bomb, 3.) fade step into them and immediately exlode the bomb, or vice versa depending on health / threat level. 4.) hit fade cloak walking into enemy on mine and attack, 5.) fade cloak exlodes and kills and freezes everything around. 6.) if needed fade step out of harms way. 7.) /rince and repeat

the fact that the veil strike proc from the staff often amid the mayhem knocks them down now is just mean.

Too complicated. Necro goes like this,

1. Use walking bomb.

2. Do stuff.

3. Use walking bomb

SIde note, no more routine solos on my alchemist any more. I finally got the damn 2500 poison kills.

Had a good bunch of rounds yesterday.  Some players stuck around for 4 games in a row, and we kicked butt each time.  We all went for the gold.  Good bunch.  Fun part was in the lobby, I'd see we needed a warrior so switched to Katari, only to see two others had switched to warriors.  We switched chars a few times, of like mind.  I had a good chuckle at that.  Anyhow, point being, despite all the horror stories of PUGs (and I've had a few too), this was an awesome group.  :)

It might as well have been a solo - a full team and the other 3 guys did very little. You know when you get 3 20+ killstreaks in a single game that somethings wrong

Poison kills I think is gonna be the hardest get because that alchemist skill seems the only "sure" way to do it. Prison blades give some shot if the poison is the killer but nothing else has poison -- there is no poison gas spell or anything?

I get "good" about 60% and most of the other 40% are well meaning but poorly equipped teams.

There are always some special cases. Over the weekend I had a guy complaining that my lego was "hogging" all the kills because all the bad guys were swarming all over me all the time. I tried to explain that was my job but he chose to disagree. The other problem recently are the guys who I presume have Kinects and I get their music piped into the match. Needless to say I'm too old for most of that crap.

yeah never understood the idea of 'stealing' kills, unless they have HOK stuff I Can see how this would be an issue.. as long as we complete I'm good.. I was grouped with the typical AW douche, dude had a mic and kept mentioning '2 kill streak' '3 kill streak' 'etc'... then when he noticed I was playing my AW more ranged he's like 'dude that's not how you play the AW, just spam Blade'... internet.. SMH

I got up to the first 500 just using the poison cloud move (I am really bad with skill names) on my hunter and alchemist casually. I ended up farming routine with my alchemist for the rest. Fire flask, cooldown amulet, poison cloud w/ 30% dmg ring, stealth. You get 110+ kills or so per solo. Only problem is demons because the wraiths are stupid idiots that A) don't take double damage initially B. fly out of the clouds all the time. In the end it's worth it because the picture looks cool.

5 out of 6 of the perilous pugs I joined yesterday wiped on zone one.  Then I got into a group that made it to 3/5 on templars, carrying a complete noob (in every sense of the word) on a lv 6 AW with Inquisition gear, who complained that we weren't good enough players to carry him because he needed more xp to level faster and he didn't want to do routine!  We finally kicked him and proceeded to wipe in peace.

Was it a win or a wipe?  Things have been very streaky in that regard lately for me.  Several wins in a row and then a bad streak.  The archer round is just brutal on perilous.

Well the even worse thing was that I wasn't doing much kill stealing because all I was doing was cycling through walking fortress, counterstrike, war cry and payback strike so there wasn't much damage going out it was just me taking the beating and trying to maintain guard and not being knocked down.
