Oh so it wasn't just me then that had an unplayable day yesterday, so many failed loading screens.

Isn't your multiplayer experience basically:

I've had a better MP experience with ME3MP over many many months than this one month or more dip with DAMP. My connection ain't great but at least it was more stable with ME3.

Yeah, I have far more drops and crashes with DAMP than with ME 3, too. :P

I've also noted that more of my Threatening PUGs lately have been unsuccessful than when I first started playing.  At first, I cautiously eased into Threatening and enjoyed successfully completed rounds.  I think I was fortunate in my groups.  Now, I have better gear and (think) I'm a better player but have seen more wipes at level 5 than ever.  Is there a new group cutting their teeth on threatening or have I lost my edge?

So random the quality you get. 2 weeks ago it felt like I was drawing all the just leveled a character to 10 for the first time and now wanted to run threatening types now the last couple of days been finishing everything.

Yea just bad luck. I was carrying a team as a level 5 lego in threatening the other day. Needless to say it didn't end well.

Seriously, I've grown used to having seasoned players running low levels through threatening or perilous, but lately there's a huge influx of complete noobs trying to run perilous on lvl 6's and such.  I'm even seeing level 19 and 20's in routine who are going perma-fade by 5/5.....

There are certainly newer players.

Reach zone 5, AW heads to plant banner, rest of party stay in/near The RoomTM

Keeper calls out: 'come here...'

AW comes back, banner unplanted...

(sigh)

Odd game last night.  Tried a couple of Perilous PUGs but they either wouldn't populate or wouldn't ready up so I dropped to Threatening with my Archer.

We get a good team with my Archer, a strong Legionnaire, a solid Keeper and an AW that is OK, but tagging along.

After a couple of matches, I almost missed it but caught that the leader switched us to Perilous.

Fine by me, we have a good team and that's what I wanted anyway.

A Legionnaire to keep aggro off me, a Keeper to keep everyone standing up and an AW to flit around and clean up targets I miss.

Except, the Leader swaps in his AW for the Legionnaire.  OK, I'll just play a little bit recklessly because an AW will bleed some targets past him, but hey, barriers still.

Nope, the Keeper swaps in a Level 1 Necro at the last second and i'm thinking, uh oh, he didn't see change to Perilous, but whatever, we'll carry.

Match starts and while I don't notice it immediately, what happens is the Lvl 1 Necro hides at the start, the Leader's AW takes off and aggros the entire map and tries to fight them at a midpoint location.  The other (weaker) AW is acting confused and can't decide whether to stand and fight or follow the other AW deep into enemy territory. That AW goes down and this is probably when he or she sees this is Perilous because they very quickly drop out.  I give it a try, but I'm essentially fighting solo at this point and the glass in my Glass Cannon is clearly showing.

This continues for all 5 waves for two Perilous matches.  The 4th player with us changes at least 3 or 4 times as they try to figure out what the hell our team is doing and probably drop in frustration.

I took it as a challenge.  I lived some, I died some.  Mostly to Venatori Assassins that seemed to come at me in stealth in waves of 2 or 3 or a random Druffalo but the Leader AW was clearly all about a solo carry so we did mange to complete both before we suddenly were back in threatening territory.

I still have no idea if he trying to annoy us in Perilous while he carried a Lvl 1 friend, because the Lvl 1 Necro clearly knew he needed to just hang back and avoid being noticed as much as possible while the entire level was pulled or if he actually thought our previous clockwork success in Threatening meant everyone was Perilous Solo ready, or maybe he just didn't care and was ding his own thing regardless of who hung in there.

That's epic Chinook.

Makes me wonder once more why is there not a chat option in the lobby. The console's on-screen keyboard is awkward but at least one can communicate with it, besides, all the consoles should allow connecting a USB keyboard in them for better typing.

Also why not as well allow console peeps to use keyboard as their control method if they so choose. It's not like it's too hard to implement, especially in a cross-platform game.

Yeah, the mics all stayed silent.  I could have tried but it became clear to me that the Leader AW and the Keeper dropping to Lvl 1 Necro were in party chat and not game chat so it wouldn't have helped.  they were just too in sync for what was happening to not be talking.

All on X1 btw.

Some very frustrating Perilous games earlier - I had one match were I literally went down twice for no reason (must be another Bioware bug). We completed a zone and as I went to open the door to the flask room I suddenly went from full health to down instantly. There were no enemies left and I had not taken damage and was not under any status effects. I got revived, went through the flask room and then as we opened to door to the next stage the same thing happened again - Instant down. We hadn't aggro'd any of the enemies in the next zone and I instantly went down both times instead of going into the Simulacrum state

I played with a barrierless Keeper in a threatening match today. He begged several times "please help me" when he fell during the game, much like the Inquisition Messenger - same tone, same rhythm, which was funny in itself. In zone 5 he fell again and I was practically standing above him, when he said "please help me ... ... idiots" ..

I was terribly sorry, but I had to decline his request, since I couldn't make it on time. Had to kill the archer on the other side of the map first.

Does a barrierless Keeper even have enough abilities to spend all their points on? Meaning if you count out all the Barrier related actives and passives?

Not to mention you get it for free and it only gets better the farther you dive in the tree. He must have gone all the way the other tree then.

Was in a perilous pug with a kid who was bragging to us about how good his arcane warrior was. He made a comment on how much harder perilous was compared to threatening even though he playing the ham warrior, tried to singlehandedly face tank rtc, went down in a matter of seconds. Complained that we were noobs, than rage quit.

Had an.... interesting group.

Dropped into a Threatening match as my Necromancer with a level 1 Legionnaire and a high level Archer and Hunter.  They were all talking to each other and it seemed like they knew one another.  I dropped in at zone 2 and helped them finish up the zone before heading back to one of the treasure rooms.  It was a rogue door, so I waited and tried to signal them to come open it (couldn't because it wouldn't let me signal them.  Seriously, half the time I can't use the dialogue prompts, anyone else have this issue?) but it looked like they were completely ignoring the treasure rooms.  Alright, so it's an experience run.  Sure, I'm good with that.

What's weird was that at the end of zone 4, me, the Archer, and the Hunter were waiting at the end of the font room to head to zone 5 and the Legionnaire tells us to wait so she can get the rest of the pots.

Very odd.  So, you're telling me that you're going to completely ignore the treasure rooms (every door I saw was a rogue door), but you're going to grab every pot you can before going to the next zone?  Yo soy confused (#Spanglish).  What exactly is the logic behind this?  Do they think it'll give a higher chance to get uniques from the chests?

Anyway, we extracted easily enough.  I was DPSing everything and freezing the VC solid whenever I had a chance.  Went down once, but that was because I wasn't watching out for the archers.  Legionnaire left and I ended up being host, so I dropped out as well.

On Threatening running a Reaver against Demons (zone 5) - 3 player party.

Archer has gone down permanently.

Legionnaire thinks that sticking close to me is a good idea !

No it isn't !

The DC is guaranteed to hit both of us, stop running after me !

If we stay apart we can pick each other up in case of difficulty...

Stop %!@£&*$ following me around !!

ouch...

wipe...

I feel your pain Sofa. I've had games where I was a lego trying to tank the DC away from everyone and my team kept wanting to bunch up on me. In what game is it ever a good idea to stand on top of your tank.

Reminds me of standing next to your cloaked infiltrator in MEMP clearing the 4 objectives.

Sure, let's stand next to the invisible dude, that'll protect them from all the enemies now heading their way  :P

Tanks and invisible people. They need to get rid of the "over here" and replace it with "WTF ARE YOU DOING I AM THE TANK/INVISIBLE GET AWAY NOW"

You know I like to try out new and different builds on some classes....doing that with a keeper never occurred to me.

Played a few pugs today that required liberal use of the Block function. Starting to think "Perilous" designation is referring to your level of tolerance for offensive gibberish. I've never met so many less than desirable people before in my life and I'm 40 years old. /SIGH.

Thank god for gaming friends.
