I find the longer the game is out the less abilities I use on each character. I am getting by with my necro only using blizzard and walking bomb

N00b, I just use Walking Bomb and auto-attacks.

But yeah... a lot of characters have 1-2 awesome abilities and then a bunch of terrible filler abilities.

1/5 instead of 5/5. I got a disconnect with a dying RTC as last enemy on the map. I was able to rejoin because I had a friend in the group, but instead of zone 5, the game started at zone 1. This was the second time today (well, first one was zone 3 and then 1 again).

Got kicked from a threatening game because I didn't open a door :/

Guy was one of those people who spam "come here" repeatedly, at every door, and I was sick of it. Me, a necro, and an assassin were standin in the last spawn tryin to decide if we wanted to run all the way back to the beginning spawn. Since they just stood there I opened the door, hit the font, and teleported his ass.

BIG MISTAKE

This guy (who was host btw) blew up. Not just blew up, but freaking explodes in a way I haven't heard since I quit playing CoD. He was yelling into his mic so hard all I heard was static through my speakers. I didn't even know he had a mic, because nothing had been said by anyone the entire game. He kept yelling at the top of his lungs for a good two minutes. He just stood outside the zone 5 circle and screamed. Finally he calmed down enough to be understandable and said he wouldn't get in until I was kicked. So I just stood in the circle spamming the "come here" button with one hand and started to read a magazine with the other. When I stopped hearing my Katari's voice I just searched for another match.

I did make sure to prefer that guy though just hoping to run into him again.

Killed 2 venatori commanders in one match, never happened to me before since on april fools I wasn't playing perilous yet. Firs one on Z4 as the "kill target" event and second one on Z5 obviously. I'm liking the hell out of this "punishment"

Don't know, but I might stay with the inquisition. These humans seem interesting!

This plague of door skipping now affects even Routine. For me this game is gold collection simulator with some annoying obstacles like so-called "enemies" and irresponsible so-called "teammates".

I was legit heartbroken when a buddy of mine told me he didn't take Long Shot/Opportunity Knocks, and went with some other putzy ability. I may have been a little drunk.

I can't figure this game out regarding thoughts of success or failure before a match starts.  Also the same thing for wave 5.  Sure there are some games where you know you are in real trouble on wave one but so many games and classes are tough to predict.

Playing with a decent group on threatening, we just get destroyed wave 5 in about 30 seconds.  Play with another group on threatening, win that one then move to perilous, one of the players has never played perilous before.  We win about 3 perilous matches in a row, the last one totally because of the AW in the group.

Aggro is still a huge mystery to me.  I played as a templar, Reaver, ele all reasonable re aggro.  I switch to the Necromancer and I was literally down 2 times a wave from beginning to end.  EVERYTHING was targeting me.  Same thing on last wave, I was dead in moments.

The only thing that even bothered me about the whole deal is the fact the they guy was out ~110 gold. Why throw a fit? I've never claimed to understand people, but really, why? Two guys had been downed already, why risk getting a second down right before starting zone 5?

Wish I could have gotten a recording of this guy's screaming through my crappy TV speakers. Sounded like the David Archer/VI hybrid from project overlord.

When I play my necro I just use blizzard with ice armor to stay alive. You're going to be hitting more enemies thanks to aoes so you'll take more agro.

I actually have stopped using some abilities to stay alive longer, like skittles and fire potions on the alchemist. Sure it's fun and you can hit a lot of enemies but you'll agro them all too. You can get by using only a couple offensive moves so use the rest to live. Was playing my hunter yesterday and I'm using fall back, poison cloud, leaping shot and stealth. Just need to tweak builds.

I normally don't spec into blizzard but did this last time so perhaps that is the problem.  I do use the horror AOE a lot.

I also have a question about the necro being in semi fade mode and then getting barrier cast on them?  I don't know if this is fluke timing or a known issue but about three times now when I have been in semi fade mode fighting away hoping to get back into the real world I have had someone cast a barrier on me.  I immediately die when that happens.  (Anyone else notice this?)

Can't say I have seen that happen.

As far as my necro goes I only use 2 moves now and a mindchill staff for mind blast. The lack of skills lets me turn blizzard on and off all the time since I'm always high on mana, you won't get hit if you are always freezing everyone near you.

If you open with walking bomb and detonate it right away, that is going to happen as all spawn is aggroed specifically against you. You can open with some single target spell like winter grasp or just with staff attack if you really need to open all by yourself. Also, if you still want to start with WB, IMO, you better FC and cast WB from FC. That surely helps and Drasca can explain why in detail. Let's just say that it works. If it does not help, you have to FS right away and then immediately FC again. Managing aggro with necromancer is the most tricky part for me.

I tried ice armor with blizzard or ice mine. It does not help much apparently due to low constitution/other stats. I still die in a blink of an eye even with 50% damage resistance.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but ice armor seems broken.

My understanding was that if I am standing in blizzard I will have 50% damage reduction, until the blizzard goes away.

How it seems to function is that it is a timed buff that expires regardless of if I am still in blizzard or not. So if you don't notice it running out you'll probably die.

So I just stood in the circle spamming the "come here" button with one hand and started to read a magazine with the other.

Huh.

I've heard some weird euphemisms for... you know... but that's a new one to me.

Also, who the heck uses magazines these days? With the amount of free... stuff... you can get on the Internet.

Working as intended, I believe. It has an internal time limit that we don't get told about. I use ice mine, when it runs out, I run away from the mine and back over it and the armor reappears. It seems to have an internal cooldown as well, not sure how long though as I haven't timed it.

Good to know I can just run in and out rather than recast. Would make too much sense to just let it stay up as long as we are by the cold spell.

Whoever wrote the tooltips deserves a special circle of hell filled with perilous Venatori archers and a +100 threat generation passive on their scrotum.

I don't mind the way abilities and passives work, but it'd be nice to know without relying on player testing/ trial and error.

I lol'd

It was actually a completely prosaic magazine(game informer). Besides, as horrible as my Internet is, I try to have all other devices disconnected when I'm playing online games.

I find people who insist on opening doors, fine, no issue with that, we deal with the Guardian(s) then they run off to the next area or only take the main chest, a lot of the time they leave the other 2 pots which, in Threatening/Peri usually adds up to 50-55 gold, usually matches whats in the chest..  Why risk your entire party to just take half the spoils ..?

So true.

A room chest normally equals 3 pots.

A scroll/heirlooms/nug normally equals 6 pots.

Pots take less time than chests, so if people care about gold, pots are quicker (other than free chests).

And don't trigger the scrolls/etc timer and run into a room as the objective failure is worth twice that.

Don't you just hate it when in the Orlesian Chateau someone triggers the scrolls/etc timer from the balcony with a ranged attack

agro-ing the enemies down below ??!!

I love it! I usually go turbo and try to hack the scrolls at any cost. Last time I pulled three spawns with me and then died on the other side of map, leaving the rest to deal with following clusterf*ck   :wizard:

Absolutely, always people who think they can pick off some easy targets and then you have to almost do a suicide run to get to the scrolls/heirlooms..lol, when they do that I usually leave that one..
