Had one of my best PUGs ever, all mid/lower level guys on routine. I was taking my Templar out for a spin, along with a Keeper, Archer and Reaver. No one was rushing, Keeper and Archer were on mics, but I kept mine muted. We completed against Dem and TemCom.

At the end of the last match, the Keeper and Archer were talking about a friend who was nicknamed McConaughey, because of one of his lines that this guy always quoted, but they couldn't remember which movie it was from... After the two ran through a couple titles and before I jumped lobbies, I chimed in with what turned out to be the right answer, Dazed and Confused.

Great group, a few good items, some exp for the Templar... All right, all right, all right...

That's what I love about high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

 

EDIT: To keep it on topic, cleared 2 Threatening matches in a row in my Lego with an Archer, AW and a keeper that had removed Barrier from her skill set. Yep, she didn't even drop Barrier on herself to stay alive. xD

As with most pug games, we thrash the enemy through the 1st 3 waves, if the party is decent we get by the archer wave, if not get fail there.   We then fail on wave five 7 out of 10 times.

yeah, the first 4 waves are pretty easy overall, but them archers sometimes...

Played a handful of good pugs this morning with players whose names I forget atm. I must look pretty strange with my Hypothermia banner and title running a hunter with a fire rune on his bow. On the plus side, lots of kill streaks. Love my Griffon.

 

On the minus side, still don't have a unique staff. Well, not one with the damage of my common adept ice staff with a master spirit rune. Hypothermia indeed.

So far only been playing in PUGs since I have on friends who play this game.

I first dreaded the thought of having to play PUGs due to bad memories from different MMO:s but it's totally different here. I rarely have runs on threatening that we fail to complete and most of the time, a  perilous clear is manageable even without mics.

 

The only problems are the bugs, it takes ages sometimes to find games and you sometimes get locked in while joining sessions with no other way than to alt f4 the game. Several games you managed to join, you can't move your character but you can still damage and get damaged by opponents and use your abilities.

 

 

But as I said, so far the PUG experience from my side have been positive.

I only play 2-1-1 games. Like 1 of everything (Warrior/Rogue/Mage) and one person as whatever.

Trying to level my Arcane Warrior. It's 19 and I screwed up on his build. Trying to prestige it.

2 Mages, 2 warriors. 2 mages, 2 rogues. 3 mages. 3 Rogues. 3 warriors. Literally every combo BUT one of everything. I leave every time. Because at least I have the common decency to not deny others the treasure rooms. I wish they would return the courtesy, but nope, everyone always drops right into a game in progresss and makes me ragequit. GDFI.

"Baaaaw, that's not how -I- want to play the game!" Oh, oh, so because I want to play COD like it's Zelda, I get to go around complaining that they "force" us to use guns!? Grow up. Seriously. If you have a mic and speak my language, and the team has 2 assassins and an alchemist, and I politely state my reasons for asking "I don't suppose anyone feels like changing?" I expect a more polite answer than pitch-black vitriol being shrieked. I mean what the actual hell.

Seems I rely on ingame sound more than I thought. Game sounds stopped working in the middle of a match, it's fixed now, but I died so often it wasn't funny. Probably wasn't helping that I was trying to play the Keeper as a CQC mage (to drop Disruption Field). I, as a level 20 Keeper, died more often than a level 1 Assassin... on Routine, as host. I could almost hear the shaking of heads from my team mates. >_>

If these are growing pains... ugh. Searched for a match until I just couldn't take the endless loop of search, error, search, error... finally just started a game by myself. Had 2 archers and an elementalist join. Venatori on the Tevinter ruins. Routine, so ez victory. I switch to my Keeper and we go again. The Elementalist left and a Legionnaire pops in.

 

Game crashes to the desktop on the end of the 3rd round. I start up again. Search and get dropped back into the exact same match, where they're just starting round 5. Unfortunately, I cannot move at all. Demon Commander. But, I can fire my abilities off, so with a combination of regular attacks, lightning and barrier, we bring home the gold.

Weirdest match ever.

11 min Threatening PUG

 

Me any my brother were both using AW's and the 2 puglings were using archers. We only had to miss 1 treasure room, otherwise we got them all.

 

We alternated PotA rather effectively and the 2 archers were using high damage bows.

 

This was the most trivialized Threatening match I have ever been apart of .. didn`t hurt it was against the Venatori

Last match today was with 3 keepers and a AW. ( level 7-8>
Threatening and we did well.

Not optimal but it was my last of the evening.

And we wiped. It's weird, since we were all higher level than any of our previous 3 attempts, but it's the first time the team wiped. Oh, well.

had a really bizarre streak of pugs today. did 9 threatening runs with 2 arcane warriors, alchemist, and archer and we finished all 9. it was amazing. losing a warrior treasure room isn't that big of a deal if we are going to actually finish the run.

Don't worry about that. This game is a lot tougher than ME3 MP, so expect a lot of wipes.

So far, I seem to be having an easier time than I did learning bronze on ME 3.

 

We'll see what the future holds, though. I've only played about 5 games!

Is the Orlesian Chateau the FBW of maps? It's been the location of all but 1 of my games, so far.

 

Edit: HAHA I was set to "Orlesian Chateau" in my menu. I didn't even know it. I changed it to Random, and it's easier to find PuGs, now! xD

I seem to lose connection to lobbies while joining about 5 out of 6 times.

 

Is this a common problem for everyone? My connection doesn't seem to be experiencing any other difficulties, and I've set up the DMZ around the XBone for playing multiplayer, so I can't figure out how it would be a problem at my end.
