Wow. This was a lesson in humiliation, patience and pettiness.
Joined a perilous lobby as a L15 Archer. It was set at the Fereldan Castle (frost) and in the lobby was a Lego, a Necro host and an Elementalist. The Elelementalist didn't have a banner or title and just a default icon, and when we started the game they had a tier 1 armor. We begin clawing our way through the Red Templars, and it became quite clear that we were probably not going to make it to the end zone. Not even the gong, at the rate we were dying. I died twice - one time when I was low on health and ran away to get away from the action for a bit, instead I got hit smack dab by a dragon ice ball. The other time was when the archers on top of the stairs decided to make me their personal pin cushion.
The Necro went down two times too, me and her took turns reviving each other
mid-fight the Lego decided to open the door at the middle of the first zone and ran off on his Call for Booty while the rest of us were floundering. The Elementalist and Necro did alright (even if the Ele didnt have any barrier): CCing and panicking enemies left and right, which was probably the only reason we weren't overrun. We finished up, and while I stayed to get some stray pots the Lego and Necro ran back to the first zone of the door, signaling "Over here!" Despite that, the Elementalist transported us to the next zone just as she opened the barrier door. I suspected that, if they indeed were new, maybe they didn't know any treasure room etiquette. But the transport faux pas was too much for the Necro host to endure, so we immediately got a host migration.
I didn't disconnect and decided to stick around. The Lego was also still there, and we were joined by an Avvar. The Avvar and Ele ran out to do some damage and I followed them, but I noticed that the Lego was standing still behind me. Lag? Caught in Narnia? Apparently not, as some Red Templar foot soldiers got past us and ran to attack them. They were perfectly able to defend themselves, but as soon as the two mooks were dead they went stationary. The Avvar and Ele in front of me were overrun by templars, and I ran back to the font room shooting some arrows at the Lego. Then the Red templars came pouring in, I tried to evade them for a while but my heart wasn't in it. When they finally cut me down I welcomed death's sweet embrace, and the Lego tried to run out but soon followed. Phew, I'm glad to be out of that game, that was a mess and one of my worst PuGs in some time.
