Even though I know every tiniest detail of it by heart, the haunted hotel in VtMB still creeps me the **** out. The only thing I dislike about the game is that the Brujah and Toreador get disciplines that are powerful, but just really boring. Especially when compared to stuff like invisibility, mind controlling somebody to attack everyone around them until dying of a heart attack, summoning swarms of insects in an AOE that eat people alive in seconds, causing someone's blood to literally boil until they explode in a gory AOE attack and being able to turn into a goddamn werebat.
what rpg?

Games I love other than DA are Uncharted series, Mass Effect series, the new Tomb Raider, the Last of Us, Dragons Dogma, Witcher series.
I am buying my PS4 next week and need a good RPG or action adventure game to play while waiting for November 18th. I don't care for first person games, or games designed for more hard core gamers with no difficulty levels like Destiny or Shadow of Mordor (although that looks rich). Suggestions?

I didn't like how the ending basically was a bit like getting trolled, but still, awesome game.
That is.. literally life for a neonate in oWoD.

Personally, I thought the mental Disciplines were the most fun. Nothing beats convincing a mafioso's lackies he's a bear who's about to rip them in half.
Ocean House Hotel was scary as balls, though... Andrei's freaky little lair wasn't much better.

Definitely not an RPG but I'll be playing Dreamfall Chapters in a couple days up until DAI comes out. I kinda want to check out some of the other games mentioned here but I'm broke...

Kingdoms of Amular Reckoning
Finally! Someone other than me who's played this game!
On a side note: I've been playing Tales of Xillia to pass the time while I wait.

There are a lot of people here who played kingdoms of amalur.
And it was GLORIOUS! It really is an underrated game. Actually, no, it isn't underrated. The lack of publicity just killed it, sadly.

That and releasing 2 weeks after Skyrim.
It's actually one of my favorite lesser known games.

Kingdoms of Amalur is easily one of the worst rpgs I have ever played.
It literally doesn't have a single redeeming quality. The story is pathetic, the characters are flat, the world is lifeless and repetitive with nothing interesting to discover, the gameplay is trivial and utterly devoid of challenge even on hard. You supposedly have the power to shape your own fate, yet you get to make a total of zero meaningful decisions. There are no decisions to be made in the main "story", and in the guild-type side quests chains you only make a single binary decision at the very end, which is acknowledged with barely more than two throwaway sentences from a single character.
It's like playing a bad mmorpg offline.

I don't see how it's any different from a single character game.I'm just not a fan of create your own party dungeon crawlers. To me it's just controlling a group of hive mind murder automatons.
But then I play all my parties like they have a hive mind.

Drakensang 2 if you speak German. Beautifull RPG.
Well, you can get that one in english, but ... its 20 € on Steam atm, might be a bit too expensive. And I tried to play through both Drakensangs (I am german), but *sigh* they were so utterly boring I couldn't get very far...The Dark Eye never made click with me as a fantasy-setting..
Anyway, it has been mentioned already: Wasteland 2 is a nice game. The character-models are so ugly you'll appreciate Bioware's work even more, and you get all the skills, attributes, turn-based-combat, decisions etc that you can only dream of from an RPG. Also the post-apocalypse is a nice setting to prevent "fantasy-fatigue" before going into DAI.
The story is ... slowly picking up pace, but somehow all is more fun than Divinity, which sadly left me rather ... uninterested. Though the battles are more fun in Divinity...decisions, decisions...

The OCs were bad to good depending on which NWN you're talking about, but I can forgive that for gems like HoTU and MoTB.
Yeah, OCs weren't really interesting. But if I had to choose I'd play NWN again. Player's background was up to us, while in NWN2 we were set to be... a random villager. Some NPCs were even suggesting we stink of West Harbor (if my memory serves me correctly). That killed my RPG experience in this game

Highly recommend Bound By Flame, the game isn't getting a lot of attention but it's an awesome middleware title...and their aren't too many of those around anymore. Also Skies of Arcadia is the best!
