Nurse, since I was in the medical profession, or maybe housewife (since I've retired). I'm the old gramma who sits on the porch and tells kids about the 'good old days'--which everyone acknowledges was anything but.
If you were a character in the Dragon Age universe what would you be?

I've not read Asunder, so I'm not sure. But, if so, then Rhys sounds like a swell guy.So you'd be Rhys.
In my real life, I'm a doctoral candidate and researcher in education. And I'm a burly guy with a beard. And in the game, I tend to agree with Wynne's stance on the Circle. So, that's how I came up with my description.
Now I'm off to look up more details about Rhys, my new BFF....!

Realistically I could probably attempt to be a Bard and work some of that intrigue up in Orlais since they're the most fashionable place in Thedas.

Based on what I'm like in real life...short, engineer, army.
Dwarven inventor like Dagna.
Or
Templar trying to do the right thing, (acting as policeman not jailor).

If the question is what I'd realistically be if I was somehow teleported to Thedas, probably a scribe. Literacy can be a marketable skill in a medieval culture.
If the question is what i'd like to be, probably a Tevinter magister (with the proviso of not keeping slaves, obviously). I'd love to study and practice magic, and Tevinter seems to know the most about it.

I could see myself being a human historian of sorts; occupying my mind on all the different races and nation's culture, history and more. Dwarven merchant would be another possibility.

I could totally picture you as a dwarven merchant with a enormous beard and hassling everyone with coin and how your wares are not for cheap and educating anyone who badmouths someone/something ![]()

If I was fortunate enough to be a mage I'd probably be in the Circle Mage (when it still existed), I guess now an apostate/dead. If not I'd probably join the Chantry, become a monk or something.

Based on who I'm in real life, I wold probably be a citizen of Antiva, my father being a dockmaster in some coast city of Rialto Bay while my mother will be a high ranked member of the merchants guild. As for myself, I would be an aspirant painter eager to leave the country and move to Orlais, where culture and art have reached their highest.

A dwarven noble son - I'm not sure I should be proud to admit I'd be REALLY good at dwarven politics.
- I would take back the damn Deep Roads from that Darkspawn filth
- require the surfacers to pay a "blood tax" in men, gear and supplies
- build golems based on a volunteer basis of allowing great boons to families to have a person join the ranks of golems. Also pour research into golem technology - Shale's abilities are insane and other golems don't seem to have them. Why is she unique and how can she be reproduced?
Story-wise - I would make golems be the only way dwarves can actually become mages.
- for crap sake stop being so stupidly superstitious and embrace the surface. March on the surface - fortify where the Deep Roads meet the surface - and begin expanding. The surface is where dwarves can make families safer from Darkspawn. Dwarven numbers need to be increased by mandate.
- and finally, unleash the Casteless upon the deep roads. Outfit them with meager gear - allow them to become "frontier" settlers fighting Darkspawn as they go - regaining lands that they will legally be able to keep once they are secured. I'm no friend of the Casteless system - but unlike that moron Celene - you can't just say: "Nope, no more casteless." Reform has to be seen as advantageous. This will be a chance for power for the casteless and a great boon to the dwarven people.
Anyway - it's not like I've been thinking about this and hoping one day for an entire dwarven game or anything....

I'd want to be a Grey Warden, and yeah go ahead laugh at me but I invested in the idea of the Grey Wardens of old who is the guardian of Thedas, those who place themselves between the people of Thedas and the oncoming Blight. I find their cause worth fighting and dying for.
Alas, in reality I'd probably be some very strict librarian at some university who's always worried about someone damaging the priceless books, making loud noise in library so that I have to say "shh" every ten seconds, and I also be an unimportant scribe/author who wrote a book like "The Lusty Elven Maid"
Basically just someone who's unimportant, faceless, and a bookworm who's pervert enough to wrote something scandalous. Otherwise I'd be dead.

I would be a elven Circle mage who would be mostly content with his life studying magic in the Circle, but who secretly yearned for freedom and to explore the outside world.
Following the destruction of the Circles, I would gladly join the rebel mages, thankful for a chance to make more of myself.
