With all the discussions on here, there doesn't seem to be one about the return of previous characters. We already know Leliana's going to be in the game, so she doesn't count. So I figured I might as well start one. 

 

As much as I'd love to see the Warden from DA:Origins return, there's better luck of seeing the hound the female noble owned that the Warden, so I guess we're going to be treated to another Alistair cameo, not that I have a problem with that. Alistair is one of my, if not favourite character from Dragon Age: Origins.

 

That being said, how do you think characters like Alistair and Hawke will return in the game and what part will they play in the game?? 

 

Also, do you think they'll be some mention of Morrigan's Old God demon child??

Demonspawn? The OGB isn't a demon and... he is perfect everything my Warden could hope for but anyways its been confirmed that the Warden won't appear. As for Hawke I expect that he/she is going to "help" us and as for Alistair I think we would deal with him when it comes to having the support from Ferelden.

Loghain is rumored to be back, Anora is probably back, Alistair's voice actor is back so he's probably in as well.

Shale, Wynne and Zevran are confirmed NOT to be in Inquisition.

Hmmm....I don't see why they'd bring back Loghain if people let him live. I know I didn't. He deserved to die for what he did, not only to Cailan but to Ferelden. Shale, Wynne and Zevran's stories finished with DA:O so there's not point in having them back. I'm looking forward to the Alistair cameo, whatever it is.

But how did she escape the deep dark dungeon my Warden and Alistair had locked her away in? A pity she we couldn't make her join her father ... ^^

I don't think the OGB can have an important role because he is optional.  He might make an appearance if he exists, that will likely be all. 

 

I wonder if we will see any of the other companions:  Oghren, Nathaniel, Sigrun, Velanna, Fenris, Isabela, the Hawke sibling, Aveline, etc.  I wouldn't mind at least hearing about some of them, particularly those who we haven't heard much about in a while (like Sigrun and Velanna).

The child is definitely going to appear, if he exists. He'll probably influence a major plot, but nothing more, since his existence is completely optional.

I'd like to see a bunch of DLC characters return, I pine for Finn, Arianne and the Dace brothers.

Well all LIs from DAO are back except, of course, my LI  Thanks again, BioWare, for hating Zevran-mancers LOL

 

So that being said, since I romanced Fenris, I'm expecting Anders, Merrill, and Isabela to reappear and for Fenris to either not appear or to be totally bugged and try to sleep with my inquisitor despite being romanced.

As for actual cameos, we know Hawke is returning, presumably sans-love interest (just a guess). We may see a Hawke sibling, via the Wardens, templars, or free mages.

Besides the obvious choice of The Warden and characters that have been confirmed to reappear I would want cameos from the following 6 characters:

1) Oghren- that dwarf is just too awesome not to come in and have a drink off with Varric

2) Merrill- She had an interesting dynamic of being a Dalish elf who was secretly practicing blood magic, plus she could have the completed eluvian which after the Masked Empire will probably come to be very helpful

3) Sebastian- Despite not being a cool companion he is the rightful ruler of Starkhaven and them lending support to my Inquisitor would be great

4) Hawke sibling (mainly Bethany)- since Hawke is already confirmed I figure it would be appropriate that their sibling be with them or get a dedicated quest line to the sibling with some connection to Hawke

5) The Architect/Avernus- Considering the trailers for DAI have pointed to some type of confrontation with the Grey Wardens and the recruitment of Grey Warden Blackwall being a thing I hope one of these two characters plays a significant role in the event

6) Duncan- Please resurrect him as he was badass

I want to see Bethany/Carver again, along with Anders, Isabella and Merril. I thought I saw Merril in the tavern in the Skyhold demo.

With the reveal of scout Harding it makes me think "What are the chances of 2 prominent female dwarves in Inquisition...".

I really hope Dagna is our chief researcher or something.

i would like the hawke siblings if they join inquistion long with hawke and we atleast befriend if not more. niot saying bioware is lying. but im not sur if 8 romance the true count...but that just me

I had to lie to him about stealing all that...stuff...before joining the Wardens....couldn't break the man's heart.

He was fairly old though...
