I can create a waypoint object at the PC's location, but am I able to set properties on the new object, such as Map Note Text? About only map function I can find is to SetMapPinEnabled .

I have not found a function that will let you do that, but I wish I knew of one.  Alternatively, you can create a blueprint with your map note text already set in the blueprint, and then spawn it as you need it.

Thank you Tchos. I thought that was the answer. Shame, as it would be very efficient to just create map points (waypoints) as needed. Plan B is as you say, place map point in toolset, starting off disabled, at the foot of the sign, and enabling them when PC uses the sign.

That's the easiest way to do it, what you describe now, and most likely what you should do in most cases.  What I was describing (create a UTW blueprint, and spawn it by script) is another way, which can be useful in more specialised circumstances.

You can also enable the map point via script when the pc enters a trigger, with no interaction required. Depending on what you are doing, that may make more sense.
