I actually often use the default names, though it means I have about 4 Marian Hawkes who are all mages, look identical, and romanced the same broody elf.

 

Nonetheless, I like the default names. Except Evelyn Trevelyan, which I think sounds a bit odd. Running with a Karaas Adaar or a Valya Lavellan, whichever wins the coin toss.

Mine will be called whatever his/her default name is. I HATE having to come up with names myself. I always want canon-names. When I can't find any I check official videos to see what they named their's. The only exceptions are Elder Scrolls and Fallout were I used to name everybody Weslor (a name I made up so I wouldn't have to make up anymore) but I have started to try and make more unique names (like mine in Skyrim are called "Helmer").

What I did was change the name just slightly in DA2. Maria, Mary,, Merian, Marien, Garet, Garret, Garett aso.

For my male Inquisitor: Talion (the name of the protagonist from shadow of mordor) My female Inquisitor will be called Evelyn.

I have about 30 names set aside for my f!Adaar. I might use one of those names for my agender Adaar as well. I also plan to roll a Dalish Inquisitor named Zavien. I'll probably also roll up someone called "Janora" but I haven't decided if she's human, dwarf, or qunari. It's hard for me to plan names in advance because I need the face to go with them.

I use either names I've made up myself or names taken from the setting.

 

Maelyn Trevelyan - chosen after a long search for a name that would sound ok with "Trevelyan".

Lilaeya Lavellan - chosen for the rhythm it makes.

Darinia ex Adaar - the female variant of the first Archon's name.

and my elf is going to be called Inquisitor at least then someone will call her by her name lol

Qunari Male Mage: Tal-Ketojan Adaar.

 

Meaning (first name) : "True bridge between worlds" Adaar is the default Qunari surname means "Fire thrower" 

 

He will be a Flame wielding Rift mage.

I want my adorable Human Necromancer Mage to be Hecate (Hekate) cause in Greek mythology, she is the goddess of magic, the mother of demons, and is one of the three gods that resides over necromancy.

For my Qunari (Kossith) Warrior, I would want Akilah who, if I remember correctly, means 'intelligent one or one who reasons'. Could be wrong though. I chose this name especially for my Qunari (Kossith) cause I imagine her to be the most logical out of my characters.

And more my Elven Rogue, I would want to name them Lucien, cause why not? Lechance was the best!
