My first character will be  human male mage. And because I love Supernatural, his name will be Jensen, the best actor ever.

For my first play through I'm playing a Dwarf warrior. I'm going to role play as Tyrion Lannister

Male human mage: Angelus mean angel in latin

Female rogue elf: adulescentia means "youth" in latin plus it sounds nice.

Female qunari warrior: either optime which means "best" I think or Basium which means kiss

But I also like benevolentia which means either benevolence, kindness, good will So hard to choose =(

Male dwarf: bellicus which either mean martial, military, war-like.

I've come up with several new Inquisitors, though I might not actually play them.

The ones I'll definitely be playing are:

Issala, meaning "dust" in Qunlat. Female qunari rogue (tempest).

Hayden, meaning "hay valley" or "hay hill". Male human rogue (assassin).

Asta, a diminutive of Ástríðr. Female dwarf rogue (artificer).

Meraad, meaning "tide" in Qunlat. Male qunari warrior (templar?).

Some I've created, but may not be playing:

Revas, meaning "freedom" in the elven language. Originally planned to be a female elf rogue (tempest).

Samahl, meaning "laugh" in the elven language. Male elf rogue (assassin).

Mana, meaning "distant past" in the elven language. Female elf mage (necromancer).

Aylin, meaning "moon halo" in Turkish. Female qunari mage (rift mage).

Merryn, a Cornish name with an unknown meaning. Female human warrior (champion?).

Tristan, the Old French spelling of Drustan, which was originally a diminutive of the Celtic name, Drust, meaning "riot" (knight enchanter).

Tathas, derived from one of the possible heroes a city elf Warden can make up for the Alienage children. Female elf warrior (reaver?).

Reiner, the German form of the name Rayner, originally derived from Germanic Raganhar. Male dwarf warrior (reaver?).

My female Dalish mage is named Serana.  I used a name generator, because I wanted her to have a Dalish name, but I'm not creative enough to come up with one on my own uvu

Mine don't mean anything but I like them - though they're all subject to change;

Huon Trevelyan (male warrior)

Laura OR Eglantine Trevelyan (female mage or rogue)

Cos Lavellan (male rogue)

Sahaeris Lavellan (female mage)

Adolar Cadash (male warrior)

Gilda OR Marthe Cadash (female rogue)

Caanarie Adaar (male mage)

Banana Adaar (female warrior)

Usually, when I finish her/him I choose the name. I  just looket at him/her.... and then ,,Ah, this is good! This really suit her/him!" Funny, because I have ideas for my  3-4 play, but don't have for the first one. My elven male mage... I don't want to build him "for his name". :P

If you are curious here is some of my ideas:

Little evil, chaotic elven female mage: Arie

Good, friendly with everyone, smart, optimist human female mage: Eleanor

"Shining armor knight" elven female rogue: Dreda

Friendly but tough, for the mages human female mage: Nadyla

et cetera :P

I'm going with noob elvish Dashem da'-like in little and shem-like in quick but in this case remarking on speed of moment rather than speed of life. Also means that I can make horrible puns about the Dashing hero in my head

By the way, speaking of the bolded, I'd love it if somebody named one of their Inquisitors "Blargha".

I know what I will name my first multiplayer character...  ChainThong.  j/k :P

I dunno.  Helista, Goishen, Lisen, Cax, Malgran, Jils, Mijel (that j is supposed to sound like an h), Meaven.

I dunno.  That's one thing I've never had trouble doing is coming up with names.  Some people just can't come up with a name to save their life.  *shrug*

Always my first character (female, if can be mage even better) is called Alexandra, Alex (for short).

roughly translated from Greek as "defender of man" or "protector of man" or "one who comes to save warriors".

Why my parents didn't call me Alexandra? I LOVE this name XD.

Probably after my first name, it'll do a nice trio with the Warden Commander and Hawke :P

It is nice to know I am not the only one who does this, thanks :)

The first (and only so far) character I've planned is a female Dalish mage.  I'm still undecided on her name.  I've looked through some Welsh names and liked: Gwendoline, Eirwen, Rhiannon, Aelwen, Aerona.

Have a theme for names, so:

F Qunari: Najma - means star in Arabic
F Elf: Seren - means star in Gaelic
F Human: Tara - means (you guessed it) Star in sub-continental languages.

Seren actually means star in Welsh. Welsh and Irish are both Celtic languages, but other than that, they're pretty far apart linguistically.

Right now I'm still debating on a lot of my Inquisitor's names, though I'll probably end up naming them after OCs anyways. |'D

As forum name, my canon Qunari's name is Kierro. It was also the name of my Warden-Commander. For RP, "Kierro" would been 14yo by the time of DAO. So, he was a kid looking for a hero. And who better, than someone who pretty much saved your life so to speak. So, he took the Warden-Commander's name as a way of honor.

My Qunari 2h warrior, will be called Ataashi, which is Qunlat means dragon.

My Dalish elf rogue will be Dust. Why? I downloaded a cute indie PSN game, called DUST: A Elysian tail. The main character's name was Dust.
