I've heard the same with regards to Megadeth as well. I am picky about them, but not necessarily in the same way that many other people are. I want to be able to understand them, I want to be able to discern that they are singing (as opposed to speaking or growling), and other than that, I mainly want them to fit with the general atmosphere of the music. That part's very subjective. There are some vocal qualities that tend to bug me, as well, but that's somewhat hard to describe (although an excess of breathiness is one of them).

And yes, I do! More than Rammstein, in fact, but as somebody had already mentioned Rammstein earlier in the thread they came to mind first.

Mostly melodic metal since they mainy have what I appreciate in music.

 

But I also like some stuff from ELO, Mike Oldfield and some others since they were part of my childhood.

 

And Dare, which is mostly soft Celtic rock nowdays, Darren Wharton's voice is just simply amazing.

 

One of my favorite "metal" bands is Keldian, these two guys from Norway are obsessed with outer space and they tend to have clever lyrics and music.

 

The first one for example I think is inspired by the two games Freelancer and Starlancer.
