Eww. But I suppose a good idea if they want to encourage MP fans to shell out more.
Not a good idea if they want my money. If it's MP things then I will get the cheaper digital version.

Deluxe Edition Multiplayer Chest.
The Origin web site should be updated sometime soon.
Is this for the digital version also?
Should be as both versions are advertised with the same ingame content.
Seeing how much people complained about Javik (and story-related content in general), I'm not really surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.
Oh well. At least I'll get the digital soundtrack.
honestly id be disappointed if they would have gone that route.. they shouldnt be taking story content (regardless of how "minor") from the main game, and charging extra for it. i dont care if its "optional", or if another team made the content. if i spend $60 on the game.. i expect the ENTIRE story and missions, including the "optional" and "minor" content.
obviously there can be ADDITIONAL content developed AFTER the release and added as DLC/expansion content.. but thats ADDITIONAL content. completely different than removing already developed content from the main game (sorry, but no matter how you slice it, thats what they would be doing) and monetizing it.

Thought it would be something like this, thanks for the update!
Do not want, this is truly disappointing.
Why?
You also get the bonus items and soundtrack in the digital deluxe edition, a multiplayer chest is a ridiculously tiny extra unlock in comparison.
Were people expecting an extra mission or something?

Apparently. Either that or they are single player exclusive and would want to hog all the goodies for something they play, not for anything others might also like to play.
Content I will never use since I don't care about the MP enought to pay the PS+. So no MP for me. Disappointing.

People were most likely hoping for "something not MP-related" since quite a lot of people (apparently) don't want to play the MP or pay extra for it (again, its behind a pay-wall on 3 of the 4 consoles).
And if I'm honest, I wouldn't have minded and extra mission, but then again the Deluxe Edition is only 10 € / £ / $ more than the regular one, and it's already coming with cool extra stuff (soundtrack etc.), so asking for an extra SP mission on top of all that would've been a bit too much to ask, I imagine.
But I'm okay with this. I would've enjoyed something with story content (mainly because that's what I personally like) but I'm okay with MP content too.
Again it's just an extra tenner. The soundtrack alone is worth that much.

Mission? No, I'd have taken any small, insignificant crap* over something I can get for free by playing the game.
* Let's get creative:
-Casual clothes for Skyhold/the Ball
-lite, digital artbook
-nug/mabari/whatever cute pet that just makes some noise and follow you for a while (See ME3)
-objects to decorate Skyhold
-etc, etc etc
To my mind the digital soundtrack alone more than justifies the extra $10, and then they've thrown in a bunch of mounts and Skyhold gear too.
If people really don't want them to do day one DLC, that needs to be a consistent viewpoint. Any extra SP story content for the Deluxe Edition would be interpreted by somebody, somewhere, as "stuff that was cut from the game".
A chest? As in you can place dropped gear to be shared by other MP chars you create?

I think it means bonus starting gear for MP, like how ME3's deluxe edition gave you some chests that might contain rare items.

True and true.
As someone who has never really had a problem with D1DLC, that kinda makes me sad, but I guess the backlash just isn't worth it. Javik and Soldier's Peak debates got really ugly at times, so I'd rather we avoid that altogether.
So this is probably for the best. And the soundtrack is going to be epic either way.

I'm super excited about the OST..like really ridiculously excited. Is it just me, or does it seem that the closer we get the release, the more people are complaining about anything and everything? I've not really followed another game obssessively like this before so no idea if it's just something that always happens...

I see. I've skipped ME3 but that line of thought makes sense.

I don´t mind minor content in DLCs, but not the major storyline kind of content, like happened at least 2 times back in ME3 and 1 time in DA2... and we could go so on...
But back to OP, if it´s some sort of RNG loot like back in ME3, then it´s not even bonus, because it was very random and loot was many times repeating itself.
I don't mind considering I'm shelling out a lot of money for the Collector's Edition to get the physical loot stuff. But it is a bit weird they haven't said anything yet. I don't mind MP stuff as I am already considering playing it.
Getting a Bog Unicorn to terrorize the countryside is a bonus. ![]()

I still want an armored Bronto as mount for my Dwynnquisitor.
Maybe I should cancel my Inquisitor's Edition if all it is is MP, I don't want to pay extra for mp stuff.

Erm ... if you didn't want the physical goodies that come with the IE over the ingame stuff, why did you order the IE in the first place?

why wait so long to tell people this? Shouldn't it have been announced right after mp was?Deluxe Edition Multiplayer Chest.

might as well, since flames of the inquisiton pack comes wih pre order of standard edition. Not very exciting then. I wonder now if I might as well save money and get the physical standard ed
