The last item in the deluxe edition is a mp chest. So what? We still get the entire gear set for the Flames of the Inquisition (unlike the pre-order which is just weapons), mounts, thrones, and other goodies. The amazing gear is enough incentive for me to invest the extra $10. The last "mystery item" was unlikely to sway me one way or another as we knew the majority of what we were getting.
Will the bonus digital content be announced before the game's release?

This type of consumer response is likely why they waited so long to tell us. If they had told us earlier, than a lot of people would have not bothered with the delux edition. They probably left it unannounced, to bait the consumer who preorderd/bought on the off chance that the DLC was something major.
Different teams don't mean ****..the mp components affect the SP, otherwise they would not function together.
yeah, I agree. I have ordered it as well but I guess I would just keep the deluxe edition for the few additional items.

Source?
Agreed. Sorry Trojan, but you have a source for that or is it just your opinion? It's fine if it an opinion, but I've never heard the devs say that in relation to Inquisition. The one time that a BW team did say that, it went over like a zeppelin and they patched it out of ME3 in about 3 months.
Since I played ME3 after they got rid of the MP requirement, I can safely say that the MP in that game never affected my SP experience. I see it as being no different here. I have no interest in MP, yet I have no problem having that included in the cost of the game. I've paid $70(US) for games before that didn't have a MP function, so I see no difference in the price in the end.
I hope I can use some of these MP goodies in my single player game. If not, I'm not going to waste my time and energy getting upset over this in any case. I'll save it if I get stuck on a pixel or have a quest bug out.

Oddly enough, there are more people interested in the single player aspects of what was a single player franchise.
Well there is no doubting that, but its kind of selfish to only want single player content...and I find it hard to feel pity for those that do. There are other aspects to this game, and I think it would be a huge shame to skip out on multiplayer....and its a deluxe chest (which we're assuming is early access to un-lockable characters and equipment)...so really....the overall contribution to multiplayer (in terms of the deluxe edition DLC) is tiny, and yet people still complain.....
But hey...to each his/her own...I just hope you don't get too upset when the future DLC that is announced is focused on multiplayer as well as singleplayer (because it likely will be).

Meh, don't have any issue with it. While I probably won't touch MP much, I got the deluxe almost entirely for the soundtrack, since I always get Bioware game soundtracks anyway, going back to Baldur's Gate. The extra expense is roughly the cost of a soundtrack alone, so anything else is pure extra for me.

For me its not so much that it's an MP chest. Its that they kept us in the dark about it for months even after they announced MP. Dragging out the suspense just for a chest of items is kind of a let down.
That said, I'm still happy I got the Deluxe overall.

I'm quite happy. I absolutely hate story D1 DLCs.
People were whining over that in DA2,ME3...and so on
Now that we don't have story D1 DLC people whine because they are not story DLC...

I think it's more the fact of how they went about it, and how long it took to announce a mp pack. It's a rather deceitful marketing/sales tactic that gets on my nerves.

Yet it's better than carving out the "meaningful" DLC from the finished game and sell it to you for a "meaningful" Deluxe Edition.
At some point it's either what we get now or what we got in the past (Javik ME3)
I for once bought the Uber Edition specifically to award BW of not doing that shady D1 story content DLC business again.
It's good what we have now.

Deluxe Edition Multiplayer Chest.
The Origin web site should be updated sometime soon.
Yay! Thank you Derek!
Hmm this is tempting because I know myself; I love playing multiplayer.

Honestly though guys, I do believe the soundtrack alone is worth the money, in addition to the other goodies it's like the icing on the cake.
That being said I'm poor, so this is a bit.. Problematic for me ![]()

How about you hunt the forum and find it, then link it?
Referring to something and then saying "look for the proof yourselfs" is incredibly lazy at best and a cheap cover-up tactic at worst.

I pre-ordered the deluxe version for the Soundtrack more than anything, though the armoured mount, red hart and bog unicorn seemed pretty awesome. I kind of assumed this was a MP Chest the moment MP was unveiled, so this doesn't exactly strike me as odd. It's odd they took so long to announce it, though. My guess is that they were still working out the exact Chest details.

Different teams don't mean ****..the mp components affect the SP, otherwise they would not function together.
From dragonage.com:
Will playing MP be required to get the full-game experience?
· No. The SP campaign is separate from MP. In SP, you have the support of three specialists who can send agents to missions. MP characters are agents. At the start of a MP mission, you will hear one of the specialists explaining the goal of your mission.
Is MP going to affect my endings in SP?
· No. Absolutely not. Our goal with Dragon Age multiplayer is not to affect your SP campaign. We simply want to give our fans the chance to play with their friends for the first time in the Dragon Age universe.
Edit: Trojan, I - and other posters apparently - thought you were talking about an equivalent measure to EMS' impact in ME3. That definitely doesn't look to be the case. If you're making reference to something like combat as Paul E mentions in the post below, then I misunderstood your position. ![]()

The same FAQ also states that combat in SP was designed in conjunction with MP, which should be worrying for all kinds of reasons - one being a supposedly tactical RT w/P game, and the other a purely real-time dungeon crawler.

What that means is that the core mechanics in combat, stealth, magic, health regen etc. are matched in both SP and MP to unify the gameplay experience as best as they can.

anyone who buys this game is going to play the SP, but not everyone who buys this game is going to play the MP. it is selfish for MP players to want MP only items not the other way around. I am happy with all items I always glady pay 10 dollars extra for Bioware goodies and I am sure I will play MP next year 6 months from now after I get my fill of SP and Smash bros.

Pardon my internet, but LOLWAT???
The disappointment most people expressed in this thread isn't because MP got goodies, it's because SP didn't get more goodies than they already do. Just to remind everyone, those SP goodies ... are not for MP. So what exactly qualifies the MP goodies to be such a bother or selfish thing only because a couple people make the conscious and entirely voluntary decision to not play the MP?
There's nothing selfish about any of the goodies. It's extra stuff you pay extra for. Whether you feel that is worth your money is your own economic dilemma but the existance of MP only goodies in no way diminishes the worth for the SP or vice versa. In fact, if any SP-only player would look past his SP bias and objectively assess the situation, it is only FAIR that the MP, being part of the game whether you play it or not, gets the same extra attention in bonus content as the SP does.

To my mind the digital soundtrack alone more than justifies the extra $10, and then they've thrown in a bunch of mounts and Skyhold gear too.
If people really don't want them to do day one DLC, that needs to be a consistent viewpoint. Any extra SP story content for the Deluxe Edition would be interpreted by somebody, somewhere, as "stuff that was cut from the game".
because it would be "stuff that was cut from the game just so we can make a quick extra buck". why people are ok with this is beyond me lol..
