There hasn't been many details.
The game was originally going to be human only though, so maybe that's why they released more information. They took a lot of time out to develop the others later, so I'm sure there's something

We don't know for sure. However, it seems that most Inquisitors come from the Free Marches. The humans from Ostwick, obviously, and the Lavellan Clan of the Dalish wanders the Free Marches. As for the Dwarf, the Inquisitor is said to have spent their life in several Marcher cities. I wouldn't be surprised if the Valo-kas mercenary group where the Qunari Inquisitor comes from has its headquarters in the Free Marches too.

Thats it, next game needs to be in the freemarches, all the freemarches, just so we can get the scale of the place and understand where our characters are from.

I thought it was known that the elf origin was Dalish.

Qunari is Vashoth from mercenary group called Va-lokas (or was it Valo-kas?).
Elf is dalish... idk if there has been more.. mage elf is Keeper's first!
Dwarf is related to Shales clan (same surname) and they are surface dwarfs who have relations to Carta.

Human. we are from a noble family in ostwick that has close ties with the chantry. if we are a mage we are sent to the circle.
Qunari. we're born outside of the Qun and joined a mercenary company that guarded the peace summit.
Elf. we are sent by our dalish clan to spy on the summit because the keeper thinks the summit is important to all races. If we are a mage we are the First to the keeper
Dwarf. we are a member of the carta and are at the summit trying to make back room deals with templars to sell lyrium. we are also a surface dwarf and some of the last remaining family of the Cadash house.

Im curious about the qunaris link to the Qun, were his/her parents heavily involved with the qun, what pushed them away? (Love?) Was the qunquisitor an orphan left by someone who didnt think the qun was the best place for the newborn? Are they just part of a long generation of Tal-vashoth that broke away soon after the Qunari first appeared?

That will probably be left vague.

Qunari background about the Qun is that a Inquisitor Qunari is a Tal-Vashoth which is one that rejected the Qun and never lived in the Qunari homelands.

Doubt it, the other races have clear cut out backgrounds, it would be a shame to just leave the Qunari there with only the detail that they are vashoth and a mercenary

Tbh the qunari background is one of my favorites because it is completely neutral, both culturally and politically, and therefore is the most flexible option. I like to get a bit in-depth creating backstories and personalities, so the closer we can get to a blank slate, the better.

The Dwarf is rather neutral too. The only thing binding them is the Carta and I doubt they care much for that crappy group.

But being part of the Carta is itself saying a fair bit about the person.

That was their only option. They were pressed into service. If your options are hired thug or die in the gutters, you'd pick hired thug.

But if you're born into the dwarf mafia, it's a bit different than just joining for the lulz.
