Race height comparison?

In DAO, all elves were shorter than all humans. In DA2, all elves were shorter than male humans, female elves were shorter than female humans, and I have no idea if male elves were the same height or taller than female humans, though I'm 99% sure they weren't shorter this time around...
IIRC the female Qunquisitor towers over Dorian.
So, is it male qunari > female qunari > male human > female human = male elf > female elf > male dwarf > female dwarf?
Oooor...
Male qunari > female qunari > male human > male elf > female human > female elf > male dwarf > female dwarf?

Was it ever decided if male elves were the same height, or taller than female humans in DA2?

i believe females of all the races are shorter than their male counter parts with the exception of dwarves, i believe dwarves are the same height.

The party members seem to have unique body types, so there is some variation among members of the same race this time... at least, as far at the companions go. Cassandra seemed to be shorter than both the female elven Inquisitor and Sera in the recent PC UI demo, and I have heard that Solas is very tall as well... so it could be that elves in general are much taller than they have been in the past. I don't think the dwarves have changed much, and we all know that Iron Bull is much taller than average for a qunari.

Solas is about the normal height of a female human. I'm not sure where everyone is getting that it's different from. Cassandra was also taller than the female elf Inquisitor.

I don't think so... she looked shorter than the Inquisitor in that demo. Since there has been some confusion over this, I'm going to make it a point to stand all of the companions side-by-side the moment they join the team to get a better view.

Seriously. Not knowing is driving me nuts.
For now I'm gonna assume that female humans and male elves are about the same height, with male qunari and female dwarves at the extreme ends of the spectrum.

It's not that easy to do. You can take shots in DA:O showing that Isabella and Merrill are both a similar height and a very dissimilar height.

I had always impression that Fenris just was very tall elf.

I think this is how it normally is, but I swear Cassandra seemed really short in that PC UI video... and I watched it repeatedly to see if I was catching her at a weird angle or something... ![]()

Why do you have to crush my dreams like that? Are you saying I'll never be certain of this? ![]()

That's not how they looked in combat, though... although I admit, I did skip that part of the video.

Well, Isabela did call him "lanky"...

They're in stance in combat, and Cassandra's a tank for all of them anyway, so that will change how tall she looks during combat, but I really don't see why that matters. Elves definitely didn't get taller from anything I've seen.

Basically, yes. It's really hard compare height when it comes to camera angles. It's why Tom Cruise doesn't look like a midget in every shot he's in.

The devs said that female dwarves are the shortest in DAI.

I lol'ed considering the first question I asked in that post... xD
Well, in any case, Br3admax seems to have proven that I can't trust my eyes. I just hope that it doesn't get too disorienting when people start appearing different heights in relation to one another depending on the cutscene or what have you... I don't remember anything like this in DA:O...

A human female mage was used for that part of the demo.

This is even more confusing... are you saying that the Inquisitor in the combat section was human?

Yup. The female elf was only shown in the cutscene at the war table in haven.

I think Solas is in closer view than Cassandra in that picture. I reckon they will be about the same height. I hope the Male Elf Inquisitor is slightly smaller than Solas though.

Yeah, unless Solas is also taller than Cole, which he isn't since he's shorter than the human male Inquisitor.
