It would be a crime to have an Arcane Warrior without the only weapon made specifically for Arcane Warriors. My silverite sword that gleamed as I magically cut down wave after wave of Darkspawn! Please for Andraste's, The Maker, all of the Elven Pantheon, and the Ancestors sake; GIVE ME MY SWORD!!!

Seriously though if they are going to have the Arcane Warrior, Battle Mage would probably be cool with a sword too as well as the Knight Enchanter, they should have like pinnacle weapons! Weapons reserved for that character. It could be crafted the way you want it but can only be used by that Character because it does some kind of buff to stats or stamina/mana or health that benefit that character's predominate roll in a mission. I don't know, I just think it would be cool to go into battle with a weapon tailor made for your hand alone. Like the Qunari and their blades; it's their soul.

I think that this character is an Arcane Warrior in name only.  He won't be using the powers he had in DA, he'll be able to learn Spirit Blade in addition to 7 powers from the Knight Enchanter and mage trees.  The other characters seem to follow this pattern of not having unique abilities... from what we've seen at least.

Where did you find that information?

http://forum.bioware...source-library/

The characters listed here have spells and abilities from the normal trees... right now I am assuming that all of the current classes will follow this pattern.

As for specific information about Knight Enchanters...

Well, I think you might have a point but from what I read as your suggestions they never flat out say that Arcane Warrior will use Spirit Blade so I still have a little hope. Not to mention the fact that the KE in single player is staff locked but those limitations may be lifted on the MP characters or at least the Arcane Warrior. Obviously if they have the Arcane Warrior in it then they will have to nerf him a little bit so he does not become OP like he was in DA:O.

But what did you think of the Pinnacle Weapon idea at the bottom of the paragraph?

Well, you're right that they might switch things up for MP, and for the record, I wanted the Knight Enchanter to use normal weapons so that I could wield a customized sword rather than a custom staff... so yeah, we both might be in for a pleasant surprise with AW.  It's not out of the question, at least...

As for the Pinnacle Weapons, that sounds good, but I thought that we were allowed to craft weapons in MP?  I know that we can break down unwanted or useless items, so wouldn't those components be used to make new items?  I was also under the impression that items could not be transferred between characters, so whatever you make or find on the Elementalist can't be given to the Arcane Warrior... eh... maybe I'll look into that some more just in case I'm mistaken...

Either way, that's pretty much what I plan to do in single player... nobody is going to be using the Inquisitor's hand-crafted weapons, and all the companions will have items specifically created to take advantage of their abilities... if we can't trade items between characters in MP, it would work the same way by default.

edit:  Yeah, we can craft... looks like it works the same as in single player, so you can probably just make a "Spellweaver" for your AW.  Whether that takes the form of a sword or staff remains to be seen... :P

SWEET BURNING ANDRASTE I'VE MISSED ARCANE WARRIORS!

But with that in mind do remember that you aren't playing with an arcane warrior you are actually playing with a different class called a "knight enchanter" that is reminiscent of the original mage tank. This class conjures up weapons instead of being able to actually wield them, the same probably goes for armor too.

In the single player you can be the Knight Enchanter but there is an Arcane Warrior character in multi-player that you can play as.
