I noticed that there wasn't a chantry support thread, so I thought that I would create a thread for the Holy Chantry. So feel free to discuss anything related to the chantry.

So to start, lets start with pictures!

The entirety of Thedas is under its banner.

I support the chantry as a religion but not a place of power in politics

The great Templar Order and the holy Chantry must be one again, but some things have to change.

Supporting the chantry is like giving tithes to the wealthy.

It's hard not to support the Chantry, it's everywhere. I wish they toned down the whole Templar thing, tho.

They need those to police and ward against mages and magic though.

For now...

Uh it isn't going anywhere.

It's the religion of the continent.

Not a single country, not a province, or city or even a people or race.

But the majority of the people living on a land mass.

Mages are not the enemy here. I'd like to see the inquisitor closing the breach and fighting demons without magic.

Not true, there are several nations and people that have yet to embrace the Chantry. then you have the blasphmers in Tevinter who think enslaving others and being a blood mage and a Maleficar is a great thing.

The great Templar Order and the holy Chantry must be one again, but some things have to change.

I am curious, what would you think needed to be changed?

The Qunari, The Dwarves, the elves?

The majority of the elves follow the teachings of Andraste, the Dwarves are restricted to either two underground cities or living upon the surface where they will more then likely convert and the Qunari just need to die.

The teachings of the Chantry are dominant in Thedas.

So was the worship of the old gods, and the elven religion before that.

Just because a religion is the most widespread now does not mean it will last forever.

Greater freedom and support for technological and magical research would be nice. Thedas has been in a technological deadlock for almost a thousand years.

Indeed. Quite frankly, it is apalling that bittering old  coots have the final say in military matters upon which thousands of lives are reliant.

It is time for the Most Noble Templar Order to take a more direct approach in the day to day runnings of both Chantry and Circle.

The worship of the elven gods and the dragon gods of the Imperium never went beyond their own cultures and territory.

The Maker is omnipresent throughout Thedas.

Fun fact, using magic =/= a mage. The Warden uses magic all throughout DA:O.

The Imperial Highway spans almost the entire continent. The worship of the old gods was world wide.

The Maker is an fairy tale because people don't know any better.

Imperium territory was the majority of Thedas. And the Chantry is slowly beginning to lose ground against the Qun. Religions shift in locale and its number of worships all the time, just look at our world. Dead religions all over the place, and the ones that are still here have shifted borders for as long as they existed.

No it wasn't :P

It followed the Tevinters that settled in a handful of spots but beyond that? Not really.

Considering the majority of the populations of the places the Tevinters went to, already had their own religions.

Fereldan is probably the most notable example of that.

And i cannot honestly see the Imperium actually trying to convert barbarians to their faith, doesn't seem their style.
