Hi

I'm a 3D Artist and ofc fan of Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchise. I just finished model of M-5 Phalanx pistol, rendered in CryEngine 3. I based on Bioware's concept art, which also you can see below.

Excuse my language, but this is simply a f**king awesome model you made here. I have dabbled in 3d myself to know that making good gun models and textures is such a pain.

Though, I'd like to ask, what's the polycount on this great piece of work?

Here is Bioware's concept:

I don't hide that I focused on quality and polycount is quite high. Around 7k tris. To be honest, if model is without most of the chamfers, it won't lost much from quality and could be easily 1/3 lighter. (I hope I used correctly first conditional :D) In other words, it would be less then 5k and you wouldn't even noticed.

And because of presentation purpose of this gun, handle is much more detailed then for stricte game purposes.

Ah, you shouldn't worry too much about the poly count. Typical FPS games have the weapon on the camera ranging around 4-6k polys.
