I'm actually interested in reading what would constitute an "unrealistic sex scene."
Like if they were doing it in outer space and their genitals were made of pavlova or something..

Wearing pants (hi Geralt), wearing underwear the whole time (hi DA:O). I guess you could try doing it that way, but that's not going to work so well.
Ah. That's a bit more boring.

Morrigan is a special woman for she is capable of conceiving a child through dry humping.
There has been some f/f content in the Witcher...I'm not exactly wowed by the mature, realistic sex scenes this series supposedly has. Spoilered because children shouldn't watch or something.
Spoiler
Hey, maybe that's just what they do in their spare time. Don't judge.

Actually, in the Triss scene at least, Geralt does take his pants off eventually.
...his, er, unit is probably too occupied somewhere else to show itself, however.
I actually like both, for what it's worth. With the Western RPG scene the way it is these days, the more the merrier.

Spoiler
One really has to wonder why women are so concerned about Geralt's infertility business if he's just going to dry hump them anyway.

Sigh. Read the books.
She's also an established bisexual if I recall correctly.
...I'm sure that'd alleviate some of the complaints I often see with the series...
Well, her first and only lover so far was a girl, but she showed slight interest in men too. Could go with bisexual.

Aye, bit sketchy on the details. I really ought to finish reading the books - I read the first couple ages ago, but Lady of the Lake has been in my backlog for nearly 13/14 years and I've forgotten to ever do it.
...probably could do with just re-reading the whole series at this point. I doubt I remember much after that long - not to mention my Polish wasn't anything to write home about at that point. :S

and I'd love to have you.Why don't you go write for Polygon or Kotaku or something. They'd love to have you.
This guys is really not believed to be attractive? I'm a bit surprised, because there are several complaints, that he looks to handsome in comparison to his description in the books. What do women or gay men think about his look? Really curious about it.

The Witcher 2 had great aesthetics. But it's true that I really enjoy having a great character creator.
Overall though, I don't get why both games are seen as "rivals" of some sort and why many people who play the one game don't want to play the other.
The two games are nothing alike in terms of gameplay. Dragon Age focuses on tactics, pausing, party management and constant interaction with your companions.
The Witcher games focus on a more actiony type combat and though there are sometimes companions, they aren't controllable or any such thing.
A person who likes one type of game doesn't necessarily like the other. For example: while the aesthetics and the storyline of the first and second game really intrigue me, I never managed to finish either one of them. Because I dislike the camera perspective, the quicktime events and generally the combat wasn't for me. It's not a bad game for that, on the contrary, it was a much more expansive game than DA2. But just not one I personally would enjoy.
the witcher is a game mainly designed for male players. no doubt about that.
not that there is anything wrong but i get get why the female players do not find this game interesting. but to call the game sexist maybe a bit too much. it is just a game mainly for male players to role-play into the heroic character who save the world left, right and center while bedding (and collecting cards) of beautiful women while at it.
and best of all, the guy looks pretty average (at in in TW 1 and 2) which is actually the norm for most people. not ridiculously good-looking like typical male leads which will make the role-play more difficult.
for women to immerse in that game, they must have always enjoyed playing typical male characters or the main character must be ridiculously perfect. i mean they cannot even imagine the male lead to look this normal, unlike the dashing guy they are looking for to be involved (think Christian Grey although he is more sexist than all the witcher game put together).

He looks more attractive in some screenshots of 3(such as the second one you've shown), others he looks kinda like an old homeless guy. Witcher 2 Geralt is ugh, Witcher 1 Geralt is...really different looking from Witcher 2 or 3.
I'm pretty sure CDPR said the series would continue after TW3 but Geralt's story would be concluded, so I can literally think of no one better to take up the protagonist role than his badass adopted daughter. In fact, I'll be pretty disappointed if they don't do it.
And I have to say I really like how she looks this game, to boot.
She'd have to play really differently, though.
By now she probably has approaching Geralt-level swordsmanship and all that, but she doesn't have Witcher reflexes due to not being mutated, and can't use Witcher signs, etc.
She can warp time Elizabeth-style though, so I guess they could play around with that for gameplay mechanics.

Ciri would be the perfect protagonist for Witcher 4. Gameplaywise she is a swordsfighter and sorceress, so we would have the two most popular classes in a rpg covered. (warrior and mage). Storywise the developer would have unlimited freedom considering her special
Don't you kind of wish there was a better looking object to be able to fulfill that role?
I think Geralt just got objectified.
With all due respect, I believe you missed the point of the trailer then. This wasn't a matter of what was "right" or "wrong." Regardless of whether the women was innocent or not, what Geralt saw was cruel and monstrous in nature. As others have suggested, it could have been anyone. Geralt will come to the defense of anyone, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. He himself has been discriminated against and is seen as an outsider. He merely can sympathize with those who lack the power to defend themselves.
Exactly. Geralt is first and foremost a Witcher, a monster slayer. Regardless of who it is and what is happening, Geralt will do what he does best.
*with all due respect* why do you feel the need to "mansplain" and *set us straight* to every woman here who doesnt perceive things the same way that you do. You can make as many rationalizations for the witcher series sexist and overwhelmingly one sided portrayal of women as you want, doesnt change the facts. Where the hell does a straight man get to co-opt and tell women how we should perceive things and *how they really are* because he says so. And as for the woman who pulled the "im a woman card" , so what? "im gay but i dont find said homophobic thing offensive" does that sound familiar? Members of minority groups not finding something offensive doesnt make the portrayal of said minority group any less demeaning.
All that being said, if people want to play and enjoy the witcher series, i dont give a rats ass, but dont pee on my leg and tell me its raining,
As for the topic at hand, im on the same page in regards to wanting to create my own char, and make them classically beautiful, but i have to disagree with you about runway models. With they exception of 2 or 3 VS angels most high fashion models, imo dont have very feminine features, and are not really what i would considered highly attractive.

so its ok for you to want to be surrounded by beautiful women and collect cheesy cards for banging them, and cant imagine women looking "normal", but we suck because we want to be surrounded by and romance handsome men, gotcha
I enjoy both. I am first and foremost a role-player. I enjoy diving into all kinds of character roles. I definitely prefer having my 'own' character such as in DA, because that gives me the most replayability. That said, The Witcher is a much darker, grittier world than even DA and that is very appealing to me. DA:O tops pretty much every game ever made in my book, but the Witcher 2 easily outmatched DA2. The loss of character options combined with the near anime-style combat in DA2 dropped so many points from the realistic side of the charts, that I found Witcher 2 a much better game for me.
I am hoping that DA:I puts the series back at the top of my gaming charts.
I never minded Geralt's looks or roleplaying his gruff demeanor. The role just ends up more limiting than was available in DA:O, but not much more limiting than what you found in DA2.
Welp, this sucker is sure getting locked now.
