It'll be like Mass Effect 3, where a lot more of our brief conversations were relegated to third-person, but the more involved ones got actual cutscenes.

Anyone else think the drums were massively annoying? And they said you can't change the music?
They were just so out of place... surely the place for war drums and music is on the battlefield, not when you're growing pretty flowers and trying to seduce your husbando or waifu?

Make up your mind, will ye? As long as she doesn't do the open-legged sitting ala FemShep in ME2, then I'm OK with it.
I liked the open legged sitting. ![]()
Though honestly, I don't really mind either way.

Entering the War Room, and drums like that would seem appropriate. But I had to giggle and shake my head a bit, when the description for the garden choices came up: Chantry Garden or Herb Garden. One for utility/usefulness, the other for quiet contemplation.............

You know it occurs to me we are making a assumption with this non quitable cut scene system. It could work like ME 3s where you get big cut scenes when you meet them, or during important character moments, but when you are just investigating things you get the smaller ones. So...not saying its too much better but just keep in mind, they probably do not want to show off too much yet.

Hmm, I think that "wardrums ambient" music may not actually be the background music for SkyHold. It's from the start screen of the game w/the mages and templars marching.
Sooo, maybe they just layered that over the SkyHold presentation? Perhaps there's no background music at all for SkyHold? And they just wanted something interesting for the twitch stream?
I hope.

As long as there's more of the "involved" scenes than there were in ME3...

I didn't mind that at all. In a way it's preferable to Origins, which only ever had one perspective for the conversations.
I was replaying DA:O the other day and the companion interactions felt massively less advanced than what they did in ME2/ME3/DA2.

I remember we've been told that the cinematic camera will be there for important dialogue. Am I the only one that considers talking with our companions important? Kinda sucks we can't see their faces and mimicry properly when talking with them in the Skyhold.
See comment I quoted below for my opinion.

Yeah, and this doesn't bother me. If seeing facial expressions and so on was really important, then they would use the full-on cinematic camera.

I think I prefer Mike to lead, Cameron seems to enjoy getting destroyed by enemies, lol. This Twitch was a mix of really awesome info and disorganized uninformative stuff.
Pros:
We actually saw crafting beginning to end for the first time, despite the fact they weren't really trying that little 2 min crafting gave quite a bit of info and I can't wait for the screen caps.
Skyhold Customization was very informative.
Got to see more of Josie!!!!!!!!! !!!!...!!!! ... ...!
Cons:
Twitch seemed very confused, Cameron kept asking what should we do next. I don't think they planned out this twitch as much as they did previous entries.
Spoilers (beyond what they expected, that pop up was a big oops)
Very little Combat (stop dieing Cam
)
All-in-all I enjoyed it and I hope for another next Monday ![]()

Those drums were annoying. That's the kind of stuff you put on an war camp. I must say I'm surprised Vivienne shaves her head. For someone that cares so much about looks, you would expect her to have some fancy hairstyle.
Interesting scene with Josephine. I would actually side with her in that scene, but not because of some noble idealism. I don't think I should waste the life of agents in an personal matter of one of my helpers. Either I bust in that vault myself, or no one goes at all.

We've never been able to change the ambient music in any scene in the other DA games, why are you surprised we won't be able to change it in this one? If we'd been able to do so previously the complaint would make sense.

I suppose since the comparison was made to the Normandy, and Shepard could change the ambient music (at least in their cabin) in ME2 and ME3.

Okay now that I've watched the first part I'm wondering about some things. Some of the animations seem badly wooden/jerky, do ya'll think that's still something that's gonna be fixed or just one of Bioware's quirks? The facial animations on some of the characters are really nice and communicate exactly what I assume the writers/animators want (like Cullen but ESPECIALLY that look that Leliana gives Josephine when she leaves, a sort of exasperated amusement at someone's continued naivety) but in others not so much. Like that slight smile the Inquisitor gives Cullen after winning, it seems like it should've been 'playful smirk' but instead it was a sort of awkward twitch. With 4 different races and two genders I imagine finding a nice balance when it comes to facial expressions must be a challenge. Then there's Skyhold. Some of the decorations seemed out of place or like there just wasn't enough? For instance the Inquisitor's bedroom seemed kinda empty. Vivienne's area seemed weirdly decorated, to me anyway. And the great hall seemed very empty, especially the throne area BUT construction was clearly taking place there so maybe that's why.
Also Skyhold is huge and I am going to get so very, very lost.

I am getting tired of hearing people hating on the female run/walk style.
It's neither extreme nor unnatural. I have a somewhat similar body type to the (human) femquisitor, and yes, that's pretty much how my natural walk and jog (and that's what she's during, not really running) looks!
It's a result of broad hips and a very curved "feminine" spine, which is something the (human) femquisitor model has.
I understand that people want a set of animations that fit their inquisitor perfectly (hell, I'd love a more effeminate male style!), but until they make multiple animations for each gender, that won't happen.
The animations we have aren't any more unrealistic than any other set would be, and quite frankly, I'm starting to get insulted by hearing how the way I move looks like a strutting wh***, or how no powerful, confident woman can run like that! ![]()
