Think of it this way, these "eavesdropping with dialogue" conversations require less animation budget, less animation budget means more conversations, and more conversations means less "can it wait for a bit, I'm in the middle of some Calibrations".

Based on the cutscene with Dorian and Cullen and Leliana and Josephine, it looks like we'll be getting some cutscene dialogues as well, potentially just as many as we got in any other game, but now we'll also be getting these side dialogues to fill the void during the slower parts of the game.

Hmm. Well, less "Can it wait for a bit, etc etc" is always good.

"I want moar interactions with my companions!!!!"

"Okay, we made that possible"

"Not good enough!!! I want moar camera focused cutscenes!!!!"

I like the light dialogues, it goes with the flow of the game, which is what you need for just flavor banter.

Can we move the camera around, pan it, zoom in, etc. in those conversations?

I think they showed that off in the PC KB/M gameplay stream. Not sure if it exists for consoles.

I assume so.

On consoles one stick would control the camera and the other one the conversation wheel.

Cameron also clarified on Twitter that they deliberately avoided showing many of the cutscene companion conversations because at that point in the game they were full of spoilers.

Yeah they where walking a tight rope in that stream to avoid spoilers.

I don't think he was really making full use of the tools available to him at that moment. That was supposed to be a relatively tricky fight, but I didn't really see him pausing and switching in between companions as much as I would expect in a situation like that.

Also did you notice the health of revived characters regenerated to only 10%? Hasn't it been said it regenerates to 25% on Normal and to 50% on casual after death? Maybe he played on "Hard".

This is a great point. I was always frustrated when I couldn't talk to my companions because I hadn't unlocked the next cutscene conversation. We get cut scenes when the conversation warrents it. I'm all good with that.

Yup, either hard or nightmare. Both modes bring you up to 10%.

Just seems odd how the whole video is all about CUSTOMIZATION CUSTOMIZATION CUSTOMIZATION!

And then you've got  your Inquisitor trucking around in a mandatory burlap sack.

Not sack-like exactly. It's too close-fitting so that it looks modern, that's my problem with it. That and the coloring that looks too much like skin from a distance. The first few seconds of the video I considered the possibility that they were showing us an Inquisitor wearing nothing by accident. Imagine the reaction of the press to such a mistake...

Is it just me or is this game going to be really really good?

I get that impression, indeed. My remaining concern is not so much alleviated but overwhelmed by an avalanche of the fantastically impressive.

Yeah, I think this is why I was so surprised by the casual wear.

At least if it was red or orange or something it might look more like a noble's outfit, but that colour and the lack of ornamentation looks a bit strange.

I think it should be black with silver ornamentation and red highlights. Quilted black velvet or something.

Skyhold is beautiful, a really amazing place, also i don't mind the drums that much. The crafting system look very interesting. I like FemInquisitor walk, i don't mind a bit of eyecandy. Still i'm a bit disappointed that specializations have yet to be revealed, also it seem that there are no news on a demo of the game...

I'm not expecting a demo, there is plenty of information out there and a demo would conflict with EA Access.

Commenting generally, I think Skyhold is terrific. Any minor grumbles will need to be sucked up as with a week or so to gold, it's not changing.

I only watched this today and nervously went in full of the complaints voiced in this thread about the Inquisitors clothing, the oppressive war drums, the porn star walk and a whole host of other minor niggles people immediatly lept on and amplified.

Well I didn't even notice the war drums until I actually remembered to listen for them and when i did I found it pretty unobtrusive personally. The walk is no where near as pronounced as Hawke's. Can't say either were a problem for me.

After watching all I can think about is how amazing the lighting is. When the Inquisitor opens the door and theres that brief glare as we adjust to the brightness; the shafts of sunlight coming through the windows; the shades of shadow in the corners and way it moves across the quizzy as she moves through a light pool. Just stunning in my opinion.

Someone mentioned that the Skyhold seemed lifeless, I don't think so. There are more than enough NPCs to chat with..., it's not an empty place.

Perhaps something that it's lacking is some movement (as usual in Bioware's games).
You can see some tree leaves falling here and there and some birds in the sky, maybe adding a few chickens or birds on the ground, butterflies (in the garden) and some soldiers going from A to B would be the icing on the cake.

There are some minor flaws, maybe in the subjective side, drum's song on the background, swaying hips (I think too many sexualized glasses in some forumites), playing chess in armor, trees in that high place (microclimate?)...

As many have pointed out, the "major flaw" would be the lack of customization in casual outfits, not only the inquisitor one but the advisors too.
Anyway I can see this one being a low priority task given the amount of work and details that the Skyhold got it.., I think it has a magnificent design.

Having finally watched some of the Twitch video <_< it looked a little lower res than the full glory we've seen before.  It seems highly likely to me, therefore, that the Inquisitor's casual wear will look better in the final game - better textures, lighting and so on.  As such, there is, I believe, no need for anyone to throw a massive strop about it.

I don't like the casual outfit that much . seems more like something to wear on the Normandy and when u went into the sun looked like u were in the buff hahaha

they need to have different outfits mainly because everyone is creating a different inquisitor with different personalities . now if I was making a more my way only I'll snap at everyone I wouldn't wear a wannabe grey catsuit . id want something over the top all black with crazy feathers :)

I'm happy with the graphics on the Xbox One.

Skyhold looks huge and beautiful. I never though it would be anywhere near that size. I like all the customization options. I think I will spend most of this winter pottering around upgrading Skyhold.

1) do we have to capture Skyhold or is it abandoned and we just move in?

2) do the repairs need resources or are they made over time and as you gain more power and agents? (i'm talking strictly about repairs and unlocking new areas and not upgrades)

3) do we actualy get to play that chess minigame or not?

They could do it the way the Sims do. You can buy the Diesel Collection for your Inquisitor as a clothing pack.

1.) The recent Hero of Thedas trailer made it seem like Skyhold was abandoned and the Inquisition just moved in.

2.) Not sure about the repairs. You'd have to ask though I would think so

3.) I don't think we get to play that chess minigame. We didn't get to in the cutscene with Cullen.
