I won't say it is nitpicking, but I do find it hillarious that when skyhold was announced a lot of posters were requesting that there please be something else to wear besides our armor because they didn't want to be running around their castle in the bloody things they kill people in.

Now, we want to burn said casual clothes at the stake.

They are not the same people though.

We didn't ask to have a casual attire, just to shout that we don't want it now. Nor should we pay the price for those that "demanded" it.

Some people wanted a casual attire, and others don't want to be forced to wear only that. We are not a single entity.

So some of us, would like an option, a single button, there, now you're in your pajamas, and now you're not.

It doesn't make sense to be forced in something like this.

It's so ridiculous it boggles the mind.

It's utterly absurd to have to ask for something like this.

Being forced to a casual wear in your keep, no matter the circumstances, is nitpicking?

Dude, i don't like having people decide these things for me.

It's a valid complaint, and takes no resources to fix.

No need for more attires and DLCs, make a toggle from an item usage in your room, to change into your armor. There, problem solved.

If it took no resources to fix, they would have fixed it. Toggles don't create themselves and they don't bug test themselves. It would have taken time away from other tasks that the devs deemed more important. You may disagree with their priorities, but if they don't limit the scope of the game they'll run out of money before they can ship. That's just how it goes.

I am not in disagreement with you nor am I meaning it is the same people asking for it. But the overwhelming comment was for something casual to wear.  Now that the casual clothes have been announced it is the complete opposite.

Mind you I am not criticizing, I actually agree with not liking the casual clothes, I just find it amusing.

What makes you say that? For all we know, it could be a design decision they took, and it hasn't occured to them still that some people might not like it.

You assume that they would have fixed it.

And no, the resources needed are laughable. I can do it myself in DA2.

But right now, yes, it might not be a priority, because the game is about to ship.

This is something that should have been considered some time ago. One extra drapery arrangement was more important the Inquisitor's appearance having options?

Anyway, i will wait to actually see what is happening, because i am certain, in a previous video the Inquisitor in the crafting section was wearing armor normally.

In general, when we see something bad, we say it. There is no harm in that. If you feel the need to defend anything and everything, well, whatever works for you.

This doesn't make the game less awesome, it's just weird and out of place, contradicting the "infinite customization" for your throne and tapestries and Skyhold in general.

Yes, I'm making that assumption. I think the possibility that it never occurred to anyone at Bioware that some players really want to change the Inquisitor's casual look is extremely remote.

In any case, it's too late to put it into the game at launch. I'm hoping that it will be added as DLC in the future.

You mean, the ability to wear your normal armor instead of your casual wear in Skyhold, should be a paid DLC?

I will respectfully disagree.

I can cope with appearing in important meetings and judgements wearing my normal gear.

I certainly hope there's more to it though, since, as i told before, there is indeed a video that shows the Inquisitor in normal gear in Skyhold. He even has sword and shield equipped.

No, I'd certainly prefer it as free DLC or a bug fix patch. I think the ideal solution would be to allow for switching to armor via patch, then offering a selection of casual options (perhaps bundled with a few other goodies) as $2-3 DLC since that requires creating new assets.

That could work.

Here is the video i'm talking about. I can see the Inquisitor in normal armor here. Then again, we might have normal gear on special occasions, or at certain events, depending on story elements, or it's an early video.

It appears you recently discovered Skyhold here. However, it also means the code for allowing normal gear on Skyhold is there and ready. Should be easy to fix, if it's not an option somehow, or is not affected by anything else.

@user

@Lazertuna Please answer this! In the stream today you can hear music with drums while at Skyhold. Is that really the soundtrack of Skyhold?

Jason Hill‏ @Lazertuna

@user nope, those drums aren't part of the Skyhold ambient music

It sounded weird when the drums were playing over the Cullen/Dorian cutscene, to begin with...

Although, if it's not ambient music, I wonder why it disappeared when they loaded up the Emerald Graves file? And why did it come back when Cameron went back to Skyhold at the end?

Maybe it wasn't the release build and they had no music for Skyhold yet so placeholder music?

Well...

FYI, the game also doesn't ship with a tiny window showing two Bioware devs sitting on a couch, despite what you saw on stream.

/sarcasm

To actually answer your question, that music was piped over top of the stream because it sounded cool.

God, i hate it when people bring out that stupid myth. The human eye can 100% see the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps. 25 pictures per second (for movies) is just the minimum that is required for the brain to interpret the succession of pictures into a smooth motion.

24 fps actually only became the standard when audio was added to film, because it required a fixed framerate. Before that, framerates in movies ranged from 12 to 26 (usually 16). Silent movies are projected at an increased framerate (and in fast forward) now. I haven't been able to see a 16 fps projection, but I can assume it must be nauseating. :P

My 2 cents on the FPS debate, the next game that gets made or ruined by the FPS rate for me will be the first.

Because video games render perfect frames with no motion blur or artifical motion blur, we're much more sensitive to low framerates in video games. To me, 30 fps is unacceptable in a fast-paced game.

eh, personally i cant tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, or even 20 and 60....but hell, i also cant tell the difference between 720p and 1080p...

Normally, I wouldn't either, but it becomes apparent when put side by side.

Dude, i don't like having people decide these things for me.

Then you shouldn't play video games dude. Actions / decisions will always be finite and never enough for the end users, no matter how many they put in.

They are not the same people though.

Which just goes to show, you can never please everyone. There will always be some party who feels aggrieved by some decision. And of all the things to be most annoyed about, seriously that is the laughable. My character could wear a paper bag in Skyhold for all I care, it doesn't change the gameplay at all.

Can't wait until the game is out and I no longer have to read these forums with people complaining that the grass is too green or the sky is too blue..... And yes..... I have to read the forum to get my daily DA:I fix.

Anyway, it's obvious some development choices will be made, regardless of how we feel, and that's fine. No one is dictating how they should model their buildings, or armor. The point was that this tiny type of optional customization, could be left to us.

"You shouldn't play games", is an over-generalization, that i don't get at all. I did say "these things", after all, i don't expect to have a say in what goes in or out of the game, but i would like an option to at least customize if i'm gonna wear a casual attire in my base, in a game that customizes even the drapery.

Of course you can't please everyone in general, but making an option out of that, does please, almost everyone for that subject.

Hey look, I can use bold font as well. See what I did there? Is it hyperbole, yeah perhaps.

There is a laundry list of features people want in the game that will not be there. Bioware have to release the game as per EA's timeline. And even with more time, I bet extra clothes / toggle / whatever for Skyhold would be right down the bottom of the priority list. Maybe in future DLC it will become available.

I hope if you do decide to buy the game (because omitting that one feature does seem like a terrible deal breaker for you), that you can walk around Skyhold and enjoy it for what it is.

It's hardly a deal breaker, and i have pre-ordered it anyway. Skyhold in general was gorgeous, and i'm sure we will all like to take strolls in it just for the fun of it.

It was just... weird i guess.

Hey Inquisitor, you can customize your throne, your bed, your carpets, your banners, your garden, your drapery, and a looot of other stuff as well, since this is about customization!

Oh yeah, you're stuck in that outfit in here. No normal armor either.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then again, there is that video that shows the Inquisitor in armor normally strolling through Skyhold, so there's that. I'm just confused, and i think Cameron answered to whether or not we could have more casual attires, but didn't say directly what happens with the normal gear.

So i'm just assuming, that it's mixed. We probably don't choose what to wear, and we appear according to occasion. Some times with armor, and when we are more free to plan something, on casual clothes.

Or something.
