On the topic of the randomizer, there's also the pug randomizer. 3 people make a lobby, let a pug join, and everyone copies what the pug's using.

Ping me when someone's organising one of those. Although I have a very sparse manifest on PC so I'd have to approximate.

I want to share some hilarious fun my peeps and I had using the wonderful ME3MP Randomizer (thread , website ).

If you don't know, the Randomizer gives you a map, enemy, and suggested classes / loadouts for your game. It's a fun way to break yourself out of the jaded rut of grinding with the same classes and weapons over and over.

I've attached pictures so you can see what happened.

Note: we decided to ignore the suggested Gear. Maybe next time....

We got Firebase Hydra vs. Geth, and we chose Platinum for difficulty. Not a bad map, with the easily defendable "glowing blue sphere" room in the corner.

S_______T______ was assigned the Krogan Warlord Sentinel with the Wraith and Locust. Hah, that's an easy one! As he put it, "just like I would normally play the class except with a gratuitous Locust sidearm".

I (JRandall0308) received the Talon Mercenary Engineer with the Typhoon and the Arc Pistol. I had never played the Talon Merc on Platinum, so I was a bit concerned,, but the weapon choices were reasonable. Arc Pistol is strong.

Here's where it starts to get goofy and fun.

P___G__ was assigned the Battlefield 3 Soldier with the Argus and the Predator. (Sorry for the blurry picture). Oof, those are some terrible weapons! P___G__ had never fired the Argus before and had to ask how it worked. Me: "It's like a crappier version of the N7 Valkyrie." Him, during the match: "Adrenaline Rush doesn't seem to make the Argus any better." Everyone else: "That's why no-one ever uses it...."

Finally, poor a___1 received the Volus Engineer with... the Venom and the Black Widow. He told us his cooldown for Shield Boost was around 30 seconds. And he didn't plan to detonate the Recon Mine too often, either. On the plus side, nice weapons -- not necessarily both together, but nice individually.

The game went surprisingly well. a___1 placed the Recon Mine on the non-LZ side of the "glowing blue sphere" room because most enemies tend to arrive from that direction. S_______T______ stood out front with the Krogan Warlord, hammering enemies in the face. And P___G__ and I hung around behind him shooting things.

I will admit that I did use Cain Mine spam on a few enemies, but for the most part I actually used Armor-Piercing Arrows to debuff all the bosses. I also found out that my Typhoon had *just* enough ammo to kill a Banshee in one clip, assuming good aim.

Our objectives were Targets, Devices, and Devices. Fortunately we didn't get the dreaded center Hydra device!

Unfortunately I was an idiot on the Extraction Wave and got synch-killed, but everyone else extracted.

It was one of the most fun matches I've played in months. So I highly recommend the Randomizer!

Hahahahah, yes!!

I believe we decided "these clowns" are known as the Conrad Verner squad. When they're not saving the galaxy, sometimes they look through crates for spare credits.

Nice. Alternatively, when BF3 walks away from an explosion, he always makes sure his good side is properly lit. Y'know, for the papparazzi.

No, I meant that I've run out of "likes" to give other people.

But since you asked:

BonkGif_zps51456bac.gif

I am a like-w**re who is fond of both giving and receiving. :D

.....You know what, that GIF really makes me want to use a Respec card for my Paladin to get Fire Shield like... right now.

I don't care if I have to spend a million ops pack, I wouldn't call my ME3MP experience complete without first achieving this feat.

In 2014 a "special" commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a minimum security stockade to the Citadel underground. Today, still wanted by the alliance, they blunder on as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...

Last night the Conrad Verner Squad Version 2 convened for another randomized game. Unfortunately, we didn't extract, but much fun was had by all.

XxD___M__98xX was the N7 Slayer Vanguard with the Claymore.

a___1 was the Asari Adept with the Locust.

E______ B____ was the Volus Protector Vanguard with the Mattock.

JRandall0308 was the Turian Havok Soldier with the Raider and the Indra. (Yeah, I took both weapons.)

We fought Collectors on Ghost. Platinum. Objective were Targets, Packages, Targets.

Things started off poorly when two people had to Medi-Gel on Wave 1. We pulled it together after that, and the three biotics did a lot of damage in combination, while I (the Turian Havok) tried to Raider everything that wasn't being exploded.

Even the crappy weapons (Locus and Mattock) were able to apply ammo affects, though frequent runs to the ammo boxes were annoying.

Wave 8 was where it all went disastrously wrong. a___1 missiled a spawn, which caused three Geth Pyros to spawn on top of me; I then needed to use a Medi-Gel and two Ops Packs to escape. Meanwhile the others were having trouble with the bosses.

We got to Extraction Wave, but we spent too much time one place and got overrun by Dragoons. Poor E______ B____ was the last to survive, but after he was dropped, he couldn't stand up and missile (even though holding it!) thanks to enemy stagger spam.

I'd like to see the next game give a player who gets up with Medi-Gel immunity to stagger for a few seconds.

Anyway, despite our poor results and embarrassingly low scores (except for a___1), we had a blast.

Conrad Verner Squad Version 3 finally managed a full extraction!

JRandall0308 was the (Female) Quarian Engineer with the Indra and the Geth Plasma SMG.

R____B______02 was the Human Engineer with the Arc Pistol [and not the Widow]*.

P___G__ was the Human Adept with the Claymore [and not the Viper]*.

a___1 was the Salarian Engineer with the Talon [and not the Striker]*.

(*) We flipped a coin to see if each person was required to use both weapons, or got their choice. Personally I think it's more fun, and difficult, always to use both weapons.

We fought Reapers on Vancouver. Platinum.

Given the generally excellent weapons on offer (Talon? Claymore? Arc Pistol? heck yeah! ... even the Indra is not bad), this was a fairly smooth run. Also with 3 Engineers in the party, we got a lot of explosions.

Objectives were Targets, Packages, Hack. The Wave 10 Hack was somewhat annoying, but we all had plenty of missiles left -- some of which even got fired at different enemies.

Funny stuff that happened during the match:

* I got the last few point I needed for the Sentry Turret challenge (again)... from killing a Swarmer.

* R____B______02 lagged out, left, came back, rejoined the same game, and put up 40K points in just two waves.

* P___G__ tossed off the Conrad Verner quote about searching through crates for spare credits. LOL!

Next time we do this, I demand that everyone uses both weapons. And if I'm feeilng cruel I might also demand that we use the Randomizer's suggested Gear.

Conrad Verner Squads Versions 4 and 5 had some... issues... but were still fun.

v4

Reactor Hazard vs. Geth, Platinum.

JRandall0308 as the Battlefield 3 Soldier with the Phaeston and the Mantis

marksmad as the Vorcha Sentinel with the Incisor and the Collector SMG

ark171 as the Vorcha Soldier with the Shuriken <-- he chose this over the Lancer!

RustyBuckets02 as the Human Infiltrator with the Claymore

With two Flamers going, we got a lot of Fire Explosions using Carnage. Also the Claymore is a beast.

Towards the end of one of the later waves (8?), someone told us -- repeatedly -- "Guys, I have to go to the bathroom real bad." Too. Much. Information! Anyway we agreed to leave the last Banshee alive. Hey, she teleported up into the ductwork at the back of the reactor. We'll just leave her there. Oh wait... she just fell out of the level and the kill was attributed to... the Shuriken. Guess you'll have to hold it, someone.

There were also some glitches in this game. ark171 could pass through the reactor doors, and a couple of people could not go into hard cover (which was surprisingly annoying given how much we make fun of it and say "use RHA instead").

I was the only one to extract. I may have closed the reactor door behind me on my rush to the extraction zone....

-----

v5

Ghost Hazard vs. Geth, Platinum

JRandall0308 as the Geth Juggernaut Soldier with the Kishock and the Hurricane

marksmad as the Volus Mercenary Sentinel with the Sabre

ark171 as the Asari Justicar Adept with the Raider and the Argus

RustyBuckets02 as the Quarian Female Engineer with the Piranha and the Collector Assault Rifle

I would like to apologize on behalf of Puggernauts everywhere for my atrocious play in this game. I blame it on all my inability to climb the ladder at the beginning of Wave 1 to remove my missile launcher. That unsightly... thing... on my Juggernaut's back distracted me throughout the match.

More glitches: ark171 got the "Waiting for other players" message, so he quit and re-joined. When he re-joined, I couldn't see him at all -- not his character, not his powers, nothing in the killfeed. Apparently several times he put the Justicar's Bubble on top of my Juggernaut and I backed out of it. D'oh! I also couldn't see the rain, so I tried to remember which waves have rain and which don't.

It all went wrong on the Wave 10 Escort. Of course the drone chose to take us right through the middle sunken area of the map. We actually managed to get it to the ending point in one of the buildings near the LZ, but then everyone but me went down. OK! I'm the Juggernaut! I can do this! Or not. I chumped out against the two Geth Primes.

-----

We're still grinding Platinum for credits, but at least this way it's more fun and crazy than if we choose our own classes and weapons. So if you find that your Platinum (or Gold, or Silver, or Bronze) matches have become routine, spin up the Randomizer.

We laugh about hard cover...but then one takes a warp ball to the groin and wants to restore shields...tough without being able to get into cover.

I don't know if I could pass through the reactor doors, because I could not see them at any time.

I also could not see the rain on Ghost. But hey, shield boost FTW :)

You should also point out that after several evenings of getting away with it, I managed to do what I'm most famous for, and died on wave 1. Everything is now back to normal.

I don't know about the Volus Sentinel (his lack of a good attack power bothers me), but the Volus Engineer with Sabre X seems totally viable to me.

You can either use Power Efficiency Module III to have a 3.85s Proxy Mine cooldown, 4.07s Shield Boost, and 6.78s Recon Mine.

Or the Cyclonic Modulator IV to actually have some shields (1600! with Shield Booster V) and have cooldowns of 4.35s Proxy, 4.53 Shield Boost, and 7.55 Recon.

I'll play this tonight and let you know how it goes.

Interestingly I always use the Sabre on the TGI. Way more stylish than the Harrier.

Plus the firing noise that the Sabre makes is the most badass in the game. Well, for the person using it -- for other players it sounds kinda dinky.

It's fire glow. It's been there since sometime before BF3, because the artwork for BFBC2 also has the glow. I haven't researched it beyond that.

The BF3 soldier was one of the first characters that allowed me to improve my Gold game, since he requires one to develop better reflexes than the TSEnt I had been mosty playing until then. The HSol is also awesome but I just really like fire explosions.

For sure. This makes the game quite enjoyable - and often hilarious. The plat credits (and difficulty) are just an added bonus
