I compartmentalized the hype and it is safely contained. I've already ordered it, will pre-load as soon as I am able, and will play it the next day. Life gives me plenty to worry about already.

The hype train is usually more fun than the actual train.
Just ask the Destiny fans....
or Watch Dogs fans....

Well, the people you're talking about probably aren't on the forums either since they're another source for news.

How could I possibly get off when

I got off the hype train, but I'm still soaking in information.
For me, hopping off the hype train was just a way to make sure I won't be disappointed
when DA:I comes out and it doesn't live up to the hype I built up.
Yes, when. Because almost no game can live up to the hype some of us have for it.
At some point, I think, we should back off and allow ourselves to be excited... in moderation. ![]()

The problem with that is the hype cast a shadow over those two games.
Just read anything from people who contained their hype, or had none to begin with;
They were completely happy with those two games because they didn't have insane expectations.
To be happy, try not to expect everything.
Which I guess was hard to do, because gaming companies were really selling the whole "THIS WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER."
I like to believe that we're wising up to that, considering...

Getting off the hype train and not scrutinising every morsel about the game that is put out before the release is not the same thing. I am also not sure why you need a disclaimer ".... with that out of the way". Cannot your post speak for itself? What air is there to clear?
You are the originator of your own thread....
Answer to the original question: no. Was never on it. Since early trailers/demo and nixed healing to name a couple of my concerns, I already have enough to worry about. If anything, I am taking on board less info not more. Perhaps I would say I am even further away from the hype train than I was before, let alone not being on it.

I've been riding in coach for the last 6 months and I won't get off until I reach my destination.

I didn't board the hype train until about two weeks ago and its already derailed into insanely high expectations land. It looks like we'll be crashing into a shelter full of kittens pretty soon.

I feel like I'm just on a different train. All I've really gone out of my way to see is the D*C 2013 panel(super early gameplay preview, probably no longer to be trusted) and the chargen preview(only mildly disappointed in the Qunari hair options). Only thing slowing my train was the no healing spell announcement. If there's no plot explanation for that, it'll just be cheap.

I totally did. I did not even order one of these: http://www.biowarest...itor-hoody.html
Nope, did not do it. *hides invoice*
So totally off that train. Heh. Yep
*marks calendar for when said hoody will ship*
Totally off that train.

I was more or less.... Until learning from a Devs comments that pc controls were screwed up.
same, I tried to get off until they started dropping bombshells on us with really annoying design decisions:
Major:
- no auto attack in 3rd person
- 8 ability slot
- annoying healing methods that imo will cause problems for exploration
- the incredibly small list of active abilities
- enemy characters standing still/their animations look like they are from years ago.
- the overly flashy attack effects that may obscure vision during combat
Minor:
- skyhold no casual dress customization
- background music is all over the place with large battle drums in a supposed "home" location.
- footstep echoing doesn't sound right
- overall sound design doesn't seem to be that great.
I have a feeling that game will have to get patched for months after launch, i also have a really strong feeling that da keep will crash or be extremely slow at launch for many hours.

I've left a certain DA community for fear of artbook spoilers and I've avoided anything related to the twitch streams. I'm not really interested in learning more about the game at this point, I just come here because this last month of waiting is killing me. It's hard to get off the hype train when it's almost reached its' destination ![]()

Since my DA2 train crashed completely, I am avoiding any hype trains. And I thank god to this day that i did not bought Watch Dogs:)

Heh im just happy seeing that bioware genuinely put a lot of work into this. Im loving the companions, and the graphics in the game, both the character models and the environment looks beautiful... which leads me to the CC!! omg the cc, if there is anything im hyped about is that ill be able to easily create the sort of inq im visualising. I like what bioware has to offer in their games, the story telling and character interaction, having full cutscenes and meaningful interactions with companions, the same goes for other parts where you have full cutscenes and are able to pick dialogue options, makes me feel immersed in the game. It has all of those things i care about strong CC, interesting companions, beautiful graphics and immersive interaction, so i wont be disappointed. I think people get disappointed when they expect every single feature to be absolutely perfectly to their liking, which is oddly more common than i initially thought it would be. I might participate in some of the ****** fests on the forums and put my 2 cents in, but not being super onboard with everything isnt something that will have an impact on my enjoyment.
So.... no im not off the hype train, i want a proper bioware gaming experience, including its flaws. I just want the game to be out already!! ![]()

what makes you say that? I replayed da 2 two times in succession when i first got it. I disliked it for the sloppiness, the reuse of assets, and the dough like facial textures, but was still able to enjoy it for what it was.

- enemy characters standing still/their animations look like they are from years ago.- the overly flashy attack effects that may obscure vision during combat
- I'm hoping that since the gameplay footage we have seen was either console or very brief, that camera control will let us see enemy textures closer up.
- I hope there will be a toggle for this also. Especially for those non-magical attacks that still generate state farm level fireworks.

I think my station is coming up and i plan to get off. At this point I'm clinging on to the back of the hype train and it's going to give me a nasty rash.
I did not watch the entire skyhold video, skipped over the character stuff. I think I will avoid the companion video as well. Some games it's easy for me to avoid getting on the hype train, DA3 it's hard to get off.
