I can't wait to see my old buddy Anders again in Inquisition. Everyone blames Anders for Kirkwall but that wasn't his fault! If Anders didn't blow up the cathedral then Grand Cleric Elthina would have probably just keeled over from a heart attack a few weeks later and Meredith would have just found another excuse to use the rite of annulment.

Blasting bad guys with fireballs, snatching lyrium from templars, and using blood magic to make Gabe work on Half Life 3. Mage bros forever!

Half of us choose to kill Anders, either out of pity or punishment.

Ahaaaaa no!

Anders coat makes a nice little carpet for the Templars supported. The fur from it a cape for my Hawke as a trophy for finally silencing that broody, angsty, dull, broken record of a mage.

Justice will be the spirit coat for Cole, or maybe fused into lyrium as a nice little enchantment for my Quizzys weapon. :)

And in the Void as punishment, Anders has to watch Fifty Shades of Grey Wardens, with Templars Rylock and Meredith as the leads.

The only reason I'd keep him alive is for my Inquisitor to kill Anders.

Ahaha.  Unless I see his grave, I won't be seeing him in my game.

I'm sensing a lot of hatred for Anders.

I didn't mind him at all. He may have gone a little overboard,

but it did stir up Thedas into a movement. People were forced to make

decisions, because of what he did.

I hope he's in Inquisition.
I kept him alive in mine for various reasons.

I'm curious how his binding to Justice will affect him in the future along with the possibilities of how it might affect the taint.  Then, depending on how that goes, if he gets along fairly well or meets a tragic end no matter what.

He is either the biggest troll of his own fanbase (knowing him - totally plausible), or... kinda upset.

People choose death as a 'punishment' way too easily. When my Hawke does not romance Anders I allow him to live with what he's done and most likely he'll spend his life regretting all the mage deaths he's caused for his part in the inevitable Mage/Templar war as well as on the run from both parties alike. Death is not a punishment, at least to him in my eyes. Especially when you give the guy basically what he wants.

My canon play male Hawke agrees with his actions and allows him to live anyway, so I hope when Hawke shows up Anders will be right beside him.

This sounds a bit hypocritical considering the fact that Hawke's body count is at least in the high hundreds.

It isn't just a punishment. It's a relief, for me -- me the player. I'm done with Anders. I simply don't want to see him again.

Agreed.  Getting him to help stop the mage threat is the best way for him to make up for his actions and afterwards can hopefully put his life in his own hands instead of Justice.

I'd be down to see Anders in DA:I if you spared him.  Or, for that matter, Justice since we don't really know what happens to him if you knife Anders in the back.  I spared Anders in DA2, and I want some nasty consequences for that in DA:I.

He'll probably go into hiding. I think a lot of mages hate him as much as templars. Still, I want him in the game. Just to see how living with the guilt has done to him.

Well doesn't he wish to become a maytr of the mage revolution, thus dying fullfills this?

That being said, my hawke killed him, if i had a healer and could kill him when he tried to kill ella, who in my play-through was bethany's apprentince, I might have killed him then. Also my hawke was romancing sebastian, so I chose to kill anders.

I think I'll skip Ander's pity-party.

Apparently killing hundreds of innocent Kirkwallers and the majority of the Kirkwall Circle to send a message and attempt to spark a war = "may have gone a little overboard" now.

Anders is, by definition, a warmongering terrorist.

If it makes you feel better, my main world state kills Fenris too. Even though I don't like Anders, I still side with mages (and Fenris wasn't a friend).

I would be curious to see what became of Anders in the playthroughs where he was left alive. I imagine we will get if not appearance than mentioning, at least.

I have a suspicion for the playthroughs where he died we'll probably see Justice. Would be interesting to see what separation from Anders did to him.

I killed Anders on all my playthroughs. He just made things worse for the mages. Who blow up the Chantry? A Mage? Wow... good going Anders. This is going to make people more supportive towards the mages? I don't think so .

You... don't have a problem with letting him live because it's hypocritical to do so?  I don't get it.

My Hawke romanced Anders and ran away with him. I can't bring myself to kill Anders, honestly. He's right about most things.
