Anders: "I'm going to attend the girls' funeral. Perhaps her parents will believe she died at the templar's hands."

Anders even thinking this shows how much of a scumbag he is.

To be fair, that's the closest Anders ever gets to taking responsibility for his own actions.

There... really isn't. The templars, again, already have a terrible reputation.

Ella was attacked by magic and stabbed by a spear like blade. Keep stretching though. This is amusing.

And if it's that conclusive, how would Anders talking to her parents even help?

Which makes this even sadder.

It didn't. It was just adding insult to injury.

If Anders is in Inquisition it could make for an interesting cameo.

Before a great many people just look for the "KILL HIM OPTION"

But... he's not planning it, there's no evidence whatsoever to claim he is.

Most people looking for the "Kill him!" option took in in DA2.

Saved my Hawke's ass with his healing. I could hardly get to the Gallows even on normal without his help since I had to go through a pride demon and an army of Shades. And I couldn't kill that dragon and its drakes without his healing and magic.

Well, I can go anywhere without Anders at any difficulty (and without being a mage), but I don't think it means he is completely useless. It is just game mechanics.

He leaves Hawke if not romanced in any case, does it mean Hawke is going to die without his help?

So his cause was not damaged, BECAUSE THAT'S ALL HE CARES ABOUT. If he really cared about mages as he likes to claim he would not have forced every mage into a fight they do not want.

BTW, the use of the word "Believe" is telling.

"Think" is a conclusion you can reach yourself, "believe" is more commonly used as accepting what someone else tells you.

So, we have "I will go to the same space as couple AB" followed "I hope they'll believe something". Anders has no problem lying to a romance Hawke, so he would obviously have no problems lying to the parents of the girl he murdered.

And yet, somehow, this does not mean he is going to do so.

You know, at least we don't defend our Alriks.

And we don't defend our Tarohnes, so I don't know where you're going with that. As for "believe," it still seems far too flimsy to draw a definite conclusion.

Depends. I'm assuming the only reason you'd need anders help is if you sided with the mages in the Last Straw. That means you are a wanted fugitive of the Chantry and the Templars. Normal people aren't exactly lining up to help wanted outlaws and since Anders is a powerful healer and mage who owes his life to you and also happens to be an outlaw, his skills could come in handy. Outcasts are likely to stick together. Sebastian he isn't an outcast. And his family, Starkhaven are heavily devoted to the Chantry who apparently blames Hawke for what happens in Kirkwall. My intuition would tell me Anders would be more useful to Hawke from a story standpoint.

But if you sided with the templars then you pissed off a lot of magi all over the world that thinks Hawke is templar Hitler. So, Hawke could draw the ire of someone who is sympathetic to the mages and no magi would willingly want to help Hawke (excluding Merrill and they're sister.)

Even when they are mass murdering terrorists who cause the deaths of thousands, including innocents?
