Err... sorry, but after squinting hard at the pics for five minutes, I still can't see Anders. Except for the last triple picture, of course. Where do you think to see him? ... uh, you mean the person under player control?

Also, @those people who claim that by condemning Anders for his actions, we/I/they/... exonerate templars for what they're doing: No, at least I am not. I'm killing Templars left and right for stepping waaay over the line. Hell, I kill Meredith for what she did (not that I had a choice, but...). I would have killed Cullen if I could have, for being her willing second-in-command right until the very end. Numerous other templars come to mind.

Templars are to protect mages both from without and within. If they don't, they must be removed.

On another note, given that we see templars turning into abominations quite a few times, I believe the distinction between mages and templars is becoming increasingly blurry. I always wondered why the Right of Annulment only called for the death of the mages of a circle; I'm beginning to believe that the Annulment, as ultima ratio when fighting an enormous case of rawr, should call for the elimination of both templars and mages. That'd make both their jobs even more impossible than they already are, though.

A good number of playthroughs I side with the mages, but disagree with Anders and kill him...

That being said, for those playthroughs he's not dead, it'd be great to see him again .

I want you to go back and read the post they were responding to again and reread their response. Then, think about what you just said.

That would require taking a break from beating this dead horse.

No doubt, the outfit is the same, but they already released the only male human mage's name. Rion (the Elementalist). The others are Neira, the Keeper, the Necromancer (a human female) and the Arcane Warrior (an elf). Considering it's been confirmed we only have 12 multiplayer characters until we get DLC, I don't see how Anders can be one of them.

Also, Anders is so ridiculously polarizing that I doubt they'd force him into the Inquisition in any form, as many people would complain they'd never let Anders be one of their agents.

Anyway, here's what we know on Rion:
Horrified by the abuses he saw in Kirkwall, Rion was one of the first mages of his Circle tower to take up the flag of rebellion. Seeing the amount of lives that the Mage-Templar War had taken, he went to Haven to await the Divine's outcome but when the temple was destroyed, his hope for resolution was lost. Rion signed up with the Inquisition; seeing it as the mages last chance for peace.

You know, Anders is just a nickname.

If what you said about Anders is true I will faint and it will take a few days to recover  :D

Anders is indeed his nickname which simply means from Anderfels.

I think if you have chosen to kill him in the end of DA II, he will not appear, only mentioned by other character as the one who destroyed the chantry of Kirkwall. If he appears if you have chosen to spare him, I will just expect you will hear about the prince Sebastian tracking down Hawke as he said at this moment and the fact that event will have an impact of this new game.

They could so trip people up by this.

Cullen: Anders Get in here now!

I don't see why Anders shouldn't show up again, for those that spared him. He is after all a major character if he is still alive. However, he won't show up for those who killed him (duh). I think Vengeance no matter what should show up again at some point, though maybe DA:I is too soon.

I agree that a dead Anders is not likely to come back.  If he's alive and he does, he's not going to be very popular with many of the followers, Cassandra, Cullen, Vivienne, maybe Varric, and probably Leliana might have a lot to say about him.  I think it would be kinder to just let him stay a historic figure.  I can't imagine they're in a huge hurry to throw another log on the fire when it comes to fan debate.

Many of the items, including armor and weapon styles, are carryovers from the last 2 games (I was very happy to see Athenril's armor) and it might just be the screenshot was a similar reuse.  Even Anders' black outfit is pretty similar to the black Tevinter robes from DAO.  The collar and cut are the same, but the chestpiece is a bit different.  There isn't enough detail to get a look at the face, so the robes pictured could be a similar reuse.

I kept him alive, even romanced him with one of my Hawke's, just to stick it to the Templars.  I can't abide religious excuses to kill innocents.

Cassandra is likely going to hate me.

But secular excuses to kill innocents is A-okay?

Since Anders is a nickname,
what if he came back with his actual name to throw people off.

No one would know it was Anders until it was too late.

Plot-twist.

that would be rather interesting. I still think it would be funny to do this though:

I'm pretty sure my not liking religious justification for killing isn't a pass to go ahead and murder for secular reasons.

No. It is your specification which implies that.

Not really, it makes no sense for it to be Anders when:

A. He can be dead

B. Not that many people would recruit him

C. They already revealed the mage Agents

See even if Rion is Anders, that would be his romanced outfit, which not everyone did, it wouldn't make any sense for him to wear that if he wasn't romanced by Hawke.    -shrugs-

Yeah, Anders always ends up with that dark outfit. It's happened in both my romanced and non-romanced files.
