I like him in DAA, but I hate him in DA2.... He lives because my Sorrow Hawke was too nice, and like him. But please.... I never want to see him again....

I don't think it would work with Justice since he's trapped outside the Fade. Each time Anders cast a spell in Justice/Vengeance form it will only be for a short time.

He has to *hug them, not cast spells nearby.

Hug them, huh? What if accidentally Anders turns into Vengeance and he hugs them breathless?
Justice is still outside the Fade, the only hugging he'll do will be the squeezing of life out of you.

So far Anders have never turned accidentally, it was always result of anger. I don't see why hes is going to do it now.

Yes, and Justice has been so warped that calling it a demon is basis enough for being sentenced to death.
A spirit's mind is entirely alien to humans even before they are corrupted into demonhood and you think that giving that creature leeway and acess to other people's mind is a good idea?
Also, restoring Tranquil who will then be unable to control their emotions and become easy prey for every demon without any means of containing them is a good idea? What about the fact many of those Tranquils became so in the first place because they were psycothic blood mages?

He has to picky then and I suspect he will be considering how both Anders and Justice were against blood magic. Also I think psychotic blood mages are executed most of the times as are most maleficars.
And honestly we haven't heard how uncontrollable cured tranquil's emotions are and how long it lasts.

I thought the Tranquils were mostly people chosing to not pass the Harrowing? I'm pretty sure bloodmages get killed upon discovery, since it's against Chantry law to make harrowed mages tranquil. Templars in Kirkwall broke that law but I was under the impression it wasn't the norm.
It seems with apostates, it varies, though if they aren't violent, they are more often than not brought back to the Circle.
Obviously Anders would get a specific treatment, though if he has been taken by Templars, I'm tempted to think they would kill him rather than making him Tranquil. It would be interesting to know if he's been caught, and what they did. Maybe they did decide to make him Tranquil and something unexpected happened. I'd like to know that story in Inquisition.

I don't think Anders or any possessed mage can be made tranquil.

It's true that the cured may eventually learn to control their emotions but it doesn't really solve the root of the problem that mages are supposedly made Tranquil because they are deemed too weak to be able to resist demonic possession. Curing a Tranquil who was inherently weak-willed to begin with may not be the best idea. Although I do question how Tevinter manage such problems since I doubt they use the Rite of Tranquility.

In Tevinter its a tool to control the rivals as its easier to make someone a tranquil than to kill them.

They probably came up with the stuff.... Suffice to say, that the Rite of Tranquility sees its fair share of use in the Imperium.

Really? I've never heard of this. Wouldn't it be easier to kill them since making them Tranquil would require a lot of work and it would be difficult to put forward a case for it if the rival is already a powerful mage?

Not really, tranquil are for the most part unable to object and are quite content with their life. So if someone were made tranquil and the claim was they were a danger the tranquil wouldn't object. Its removing a rival without facing much consequence.

Karl wasn't like that, so clearly it's not universal, almost certainly isn't permanent (and we need to test it to learn whether it's true or not anyway), and I've never known any blood mages who've even made it to being Tranquil, with the possible exception of Jowan (though not in my universe), who didn't have any mental illnesses. So I'm not worried, no.
I do think that Justice should be separated from Anders, though, for both their sakes; while Wynne and Faith could harmonize effectively, Anders' Grey Warden status seems to be very unhealthy for Justice, judging by Corypheus being able to control Justice in Legacy. I don't know if spirits can become ghouls, but this seems distressingly close.

I don't know, it's seems like something that goes against their who pro-mage culture. I always thought they just had a better way of securing against demonic possession, like better training. Or perhaps it's to do with the fact that magic is seen as a gift in Tevinter, that must make it much easier. Looking at this particular journal you see that this Tranquil was brought up to fear and believe that magic was a curse.

Keep in mind that they're not pro-mage, per se, but pro-magister. Tranquility is entirely in keeping with their hunger for control.
However, I've little doubt that they're better at safeguarding oneself against demons anyway.

Most pro-mages are in favor of Tranquility in game as well. You know, since they're the ones who profit from it.

Their attitude may be different, but the Rite is still useful. After all, even the Tevinters still need Tranquil to do their Lyrium folding and enchanting. And also, even in Tevinter, some mages are simply a danger, no matter what amount of trainning they recieve.

I'm pretty sure Tevinter is culturally pro-mage, they've always considered magic to be a gift, it's how the Magisters were even able to take power in the first place and why the Imperial Chantry never accepted Andraste's mandate on magic. Anybody, even a slave, who shows magical aptitude is allowed to join the Circle and the respect that comes with it. It's far more than simply pro-magister.

Considering the close relationship Tevinter has with the dwarves would they really need Tranquil?

They see magic as a gift, to be sure, but culturally, they have no problem with ripping the gift away from anyone they deem unworthy.

Probably not, but they also have a system of slavery that they never bother trying to reform.
