Hey.

Something that bothers me the most in BioWare games with voiced protagonists are the inaccurate summaries in the dialogue wheel.

How about when we hover the mouse over the option (which in the summary would say "No", for example) we get a small text at the bottom of the screen or something which would say what the Inquisitor ACTUALLY says (which in this case would be something like "I don't think that's possible"). This would help with role playing A LOT.

I know they've introduced a system where it explains your choice in the dialogue wheel in situations where you have to decide something, and I think they could and should give us the option to see the whole dialogue option instead of a short, and often inaccurate, summary.

While I agree that's a good idea since I actually like to know what my character is going to say when I pick an option rather than guessing, I believe that it was mentioned that feature was tested and it went over poorly for whichever reason. So as far as I know unless it's been changed which I kind of doubt we'll only be getting actions explained if hovered over and not dialog.

I agree with the OP. It's very annoying trying to guess what the meaning of the blurbs will be. And I don;t know what they mean by the longform dialog options not going over well, but it seemed to work just fine in Deus Ex HR.

Bioware has repeatedly said they won't feature this option. Whether or not it is a good idea is sadly beside the point.

That picture doesn't work because the options aren't confusing for the DA2 wheel. The problem is that sometimes they have no connection to what is sai . That doesn't make them ambiguous, just terribly implemented.

The problem isn't that the options are confusing. The image doesn't say that DA2's dialog is confusing. It says that it is ambiguous. From none of those words are you even able to tell that your brotherhad just died. That seems to me like a pretty big failure on the writers' part.

That's not what the word ambiguous means when it comes to dialogue. The following are all very clear, pithy and crisp reactions:

1. We'll get through it. Together.

2. They'll pay for this!

3. It's my fault. It's all... my fault.

None of this mention a dead relative, but all of them could apply in that case.

The point of dialogue isn't to literally remind of about the last thing you just saw.

I do also hope that when I play through the game there is no options that make me scream hysterically because the dialogue I chose was not what I wanted to say.

Would be fun to play a Dragon Age game without having to reload because a dialogue option that seemed appropriate in the blurb turned out to be something horrendously out of character.

The dialogue wheel of fortune needs to stop.

We talked and talked and i agree paraphrases are blight on gaming, but developers just not listen.

Spoiler
