You guys aren't happy with filler drums on a loop right before the game goes gold?
You ingrates! I was certainly not expecting the blimey inquisition...

Agreed, I kept waiting for the drum music to fade out and actual ambient 'Doin' Stuff And Thangs' music to come in. I can't imagine that's the actual Hold music, right? Just a placeholder or for the video?
That being said, the tavern music was awesome, although I couldn't tell if it was actually haunting (the echo on the audio gave it a sort of awesomely weird vibe) or just lovely. But with that music, I'm digging that the bard apparently has different jams. That was cool ![]()
I'll most likely turn off music while in Skyhold. Then, put it back on when I'm back out on the field. It's a shame and a chore to do every time, but if that's really the music that's going to play in a loop, I'll have to put up with it. ![]()
I'll be used to it after an hour or two. Eventually it'll trigger Pavlovian desires to craft and change drapes.
Maybe they should change the theme to this.
Yea...yea I went there.
lol
Okay I'm showing my age I'll stop now.
Maaaaaaan, when will they release this game on the PSN store? I really want to play it again.

If that's filler drums, I'd be overjoyed when a dev actually says so.
Until then, we have to assume it's the permanent soundtrack for Skyhold.
I'm fortunate enough that I just don't really notice background music in games (also unfortunate in that it doesn't really set the mood for me), but after all the posts about it, all I can say is: I want this to be the sound of the door bell at Skyhold:

Well... if they ran out of time, it would be nice to have some variation in the future. I don't mind the drums that much.
I'm less concerned about the music than the casual outfit. That really doesn't look good. It looks too modern and particularly uninteresting, and it's even more of an oddity because everything else looks fantastically impressive. With the color I associate "Early 20th century archaeologist" and the close cut pantsuit-like thing is incongruous with the setting.
I guess it's difficult to come up with something that's dignified enough for a ruler while also being practical enough to be believable as casual clothing. I may get used to it with a significantly darker coloring but I would prefer a less modern cut. Just a little less closely-cut trousers would probably help a great deal.
Dragon Age protagonists are destined to be jealous of Shepard's closet.
At first that was my reaction too. But after a while it kind of "blends" in... It doesn't bother me.
I actually love it, it gives the feeling of an epic scale.Though I can see why some find off-putting.
Casually strolling through your garden planting seeds?
*DRAMATIC DRUM BEAT*
Playing chess and engaging in playful banter?
*DRAMATIC DRUM BEAT*
Picking the color for the drapes in your bedroom?
*DRAMATIC DRUM BEAT*
It sure gets the blood pumping!

OH THANK GOD. i LOVE YOU.
Thank the Maker. It did seem weird that Bioware would implement something like that.

Bought my copy for $20 at a Circuit City (back when those were around) when it came out. Still have it, been a fan of the series ever since.
In honesty a lot of things about Inquisition reminds me of the Suikoden series in a good way. Especially the Skyhold mechanic of repairing a lost fortress to be the seat of your power, down to you having a great power that puts you in the seat of that power. Hell if you watch the videos it even almost looks like the inquisitor has a True Rune. ![]()
But yea. I'm really excited about Inquisition. We're gamers so we will always find something in the game that we can say "It would have been better if...." but the bottom line is if you take it for what it is, it's shaping up to be a great role playing game. And being able to own my own fortress like the old days of the Suikoden games is making it that much more exciting.
BTW Suikoden 2 still totally stands up to the nostalgia. It's a great game even today.

Well bring on the game then! After viewing most of the videos out there that was my only nitpick. Bioware, you make good cookies...err....games!

OH THANK GOD. i LOVE YOU.
Back off. Bekkael is mine!
But yeah, excellent news. My biggest concern about Skyhold has now been alleviated. Hurray!
Goood, gooooood.
