You certainly are not the only one. I still get the drums, Anyone has any idea after which quest it goes away, if it goes away at all?

Edit: it appears that entering and exiting war room fixes it.

But I do hear the report that it breaks the other ambient music that supposed to play...

From EA FAQ forums:

The music stops playing when we entered and exited the war room, but other ambient sounds do not work as they should in the rest of the game. Combat music, relationship in skyhold etc. This is really annoying and makes us lose the immersion in the game. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please ...
If not, I hope this is resolved in the next patch.

The first time i heard this music, i thought Skyhold was under attack.

I enjoy this game alot for it's narrative & enviroment, and everytime i sit looking at my war table i dream about how many other better pieces of music i could fit.

Please, just give me something else, im running around in a castle talking to people and it sounds like im under siege.

I wouldn't mind it if i didn't have to go into options and turn it off each time i enter Skyhold, just atleast give me an option to disable Skyhold music.

The Skyhold ambient music should be changed to the Top Gun Theme on loop... then give everyone Varric's legs glitch so it looks like they are all jamming away their worries on top of a mountain.

Yeah, kind of disappointing that this bug is still present. And even when its not, there really isn't any ambient music in Skyhold for when you're just making the rounds checking in on your companions. Certainly nothing like the camp music in Origins.

The game in general really needed more ambient music. There just isn't much music in the game, or when it does play its in tiny 30 second loops. I guess that was a design choice but for as much exploration as there is, I think they needed to emulate Skyrim more in terms of having a lot of ambient music.

Amazing game but horrible job with the ambient music. There is barely any ambient music in the game and whenever a music starts, it gets cut in like 10 seconds. This is really annoying.

You guys aren't happy with filler drums on a loop right before the game goes gold?

And it turns out they weren't filler after all... despite a dev quote stating they were.

*reads first post*

...

What?... There's no music at Skyhold. None at all. Zip. Zero. Nadda. Is my copy glitched, or was the music removed with a patch after enough complaints?

Actually, I think the drums playing in Skyhold was a glitch that happened early on. I'm fairly certain their was a patch to fix it thereafter. However, this does win the Necro-award.
