Along with many other folks, I just finished watching the most recent Twitch stream focused mostly on Skyhold - http://www.twitch.tv...are/b/580107736

The hold looks wonderful, and I can't wait to see how much I can shape its aesthetics to suit my Inquisitors... However, I did hear the designer with Cam (I am so sorry I did not catch his name), say that the clothes your PC wears are not customizable. Since she was running around in an outfit the color of dried mud, and buttoned so high she should be suffocating... I'm a little saddened.

Was his statement accurate? Or will we at least be able to chose between that outfit, or wearing our armors around the hold? I would prefer the latter over the former, if it's true that we're stuck with the dog-food toned suit.

Yes. I'm vain.

I thought it was a pretty boring looking outfit, too. Brown on brown on brown, with barely any decoration at all. The way she squirmed while walking didn't help either.

Also, I got pretty tired of the music, too. It's not bad music, it's just that drums like that are not very backgroundy. I found them pretty intrusive while trying to listen to people talk - I can see myself having to turn the music down every time I want to have a proper conversation with someone, just like I had to shut up that stupid Mabari every time I wanted to talk in camp in DAO. XD

Yep, not a fan of it either but that's what we are going to get, no options. I wouldn't mind so much if only it was in another color. Hopefully someone will mod it (even though I keep hearing people saying it will be impossible to mod this game).

I'm just praying that we'll be able to choose what to hear to the Orlesian ball (assuming that our Inquisitor will even wear anything special) and not stuck our Inquisitor in an awful outfit like Hawke got in MOTA. But seeing that we can't change the Skyhold outfit, I'm pretty sure the same thing will apply to the ball. Anyway...

The drums weren't the soothing 'You're Home' type it was battle music.

It looks like the Inquisitor and the companions have a base cloth outfit which their armour is layered on top of. It's a very uninspiring outfit to stick the pc with for the entire game and it doesn't make sense when you can customise everything else.

Hopefully like DA2 some sort of file swap mod can be used.

So the outfit went from a really bright white to a damp brown? (at least it looked white to me last I saw it could have been the lighting) Still not thrilled about not being able to change our outfits to something we prefer while in the keep just seems odd when they make it sound like you can customize so many other things in the keep. Not having a lot of cash I'll be playing on console so even if a mod is made its really moot to console players like myself. If that outfit really is our only option I would have much rather be also given an option to wear our armor around the place instead. Maybe a vain complaint to be worrying about one outfit just seems so odd to me since to me that outfit looks like a mix between pajamas and a marching band uniform. Changing the color at the very least would be nice wouldn't make it seem really any less odd but at the very least you can look at  a color you like instead of a damp brown.

Gosh I hope there can be something as simple as the DA2 fix. I much preferred running around the Hawke Estate in my armors over the rather dull (though oddly better than the Inquisitor's) 'relaxed' wear.

In my land of make-believe, I would have hoped that each race had a different relaxed outfit. Dalish could be barefoot in loose tunics, humans in something reminiscent of the above mentioned Hawke outfit, Dwarves in clothes similar to those from Orzammar... and Qunari in leather leggings and a loose vest of some sort...

Though I understand the logic behind this under-armor wear... it's particularly unimaginative and bland in appearance compared to the armors we can make, and the clothes the companions themselves get to wear around the Hold.

Also re: drums. I agree, though I have a habit of tuning out game music. I watch shows whilst I game - I have a wonky attention span.

I've said this before, but I would rather there be one sub-par outfit in game, and then get a clothing DLC that gave me 10 to 20 options, than have three options present in the base game.

So really, I guess I'm just asking for a casual clothing pack.

How about they put more of this stuff like they did in previous games like mass effect and not nickel and dime us for dlc?

Why is the first notion for some people to always jump to "make this dlc", you guys just want to be scammed...

This game has obviously not had enough dev time, games that have enough time in development are noticeable where all the little things are perfect.

i am betting there will be more annoying things like this at launch (some of which may actually effect enjoyment more) and the game will have to be patched over many months.

Really? That's our only casual outfit? A turd suit? *sigh* I thought this game was all about customization? How did this get overlooked?

Looking at it to me it doesn't even look like its suppose to be brown just looks like it hasn't been washed in a long while. As much as I want more causal outfits to wear in the keep I wouldn't buy a DLC of it unless it came bundled with another DLC I wanted. I don't like the brown suit or the white suit that just got dirty. Again even giving us the ability to change the color of it would better it a little bit for me.

My point is that I would rather have them dedicated to working on a way for us to get a large number of options, rather than give us a couple options and just call it a day. I wasn't a huge fan of any of the options in Mass Effect.

I'm also not sure that wanting DLC that I will enjoy is wanting "...to be scammed...". If Bioware decides to develop something fully while making the game, then decides to cut it at the last second JUST so they can release it for DLC...well, I still don't think that's the same as getting scammed, but it's problematic. But if they have something that they simply can't devote a lot of time and money into, like casual clothing options, and decided that instead of using what time and money they have to just cut the feature and then devote extra time and money into it after the game comes out, I have no problem with that. That's actually one of the best things about the ability to have DLC.

Add it to the hairstyles and Mirror of Transformation pile. There's plenty of fodder here for a customisation DLC somewhere down the line.

I never thought I'd say this, but I wish I had the option to have my Inquisitor wear either the casual clothes that Hawke wore in his/her house or even the garish MotA "Orlesian" outfit...

Damn. I can't believe Bioware actually gave us an outfit that is uglier than either of those two from DA:2...!

Seriously, that drab brown color is depressing. And what's with the random coins glued onto the pants?!?

I wonder how they come up with these outfits. I love the devs very much, the game looks awesome, but damn, they have poor taste in clothes.

I think the outfit itself looks pretty nice but I'd prefer change to switch it. Again the problem here is that it doesn't fit to everyone's Inquisitor and their personality. It'd be nice if the outfit was customisable similarly as casual outfits in ME.

I also wonder what kind of clothes other races and genders have or is it same outfit just in different size?

It looks like it'll go great with the Qunari hair! It's stylish on two levels.

Though I don't actually mind the outfit itself, just the colour.

I loved the outfit. It looks so much better than that horrendous orange robe Hawke would wear. I'm more into earthy tones, so the color doesn't bother me, the design is really nice as well. I can't wait to see how male inquisitor looks in it.

What happened to crisp off-white with those shiny gold arms? It looked different and cool to me...

wartable.jpg

I'm just sad it got reskinned into all over brown. What happened to a white shirt and dark brown pants? Isn't that generic fantasy that looks good on everyone? The worst problem is that this would look 'better' with certain skintones and worse with others. In MotA I felt like I was being 'rewarded' for choosing to be a person of colour with an outfit that clashed with my own skin. It's embarrassing...

Honestly, if they made it less monotone, it'd be 'fine'. Not great, but fine.

Hmm not too fond of the casual wear either, the colour is too uniform and I don't like the buttons.
