I hope we can change at least colour... That outfit looks pretty dull.

I don't mind it but I think it will look a bit odd on a qunari.

Looks eh..ok. It's not really straight up ugly like the mota outfit. The color is passable but it's be nice to be able to change it. If it was black it would actually look pretty cool imo

Think of it as camouflage. When a horde of darkspawn comes pouring through the gates, just stand up against one of the dreary beige walls and they'll run right past you!  ;-)

I don't know, I guess I'm just one of the few that actually like the look of it. I don't see anything wrong with it honestly, different people have different aesthetics.

How about they put more of this stuff like they did in previous games like mass effect and not nickel and dime us for dlc?

Why is the first notion for some people to always jump to "make this dlc", you guys just want to be scammed...

This game has obviously not had enough dev time, games that have enough time in development are noticeable where all the little things are perfect.

i am betting there will be more annoying things like this at launch (some of which may actually effect enjoyment more) and the game will have to be patched over many months.

Dragon Age and Mass Effect are both Bioware games but they're not the same. In DA:O we didn't have a casual outfit at all and in DA2 we only had one... why is it such a shock that we only get one in DAI? I don't really think it's a matter of too little dev time.

I find the casual outfit ok. It isn't great but it's passable. The problem is mainly that the whole outfit is one single colour, if perhaps the pants were a darker shade or if we could chose the colour it would be better.

Unlike the previous Dragon age games, the time spent at camp or the mansion was limited. Mass effect spent a large amount of time on the citadel so the casual outfit choices came in handy for the frequent and long term stopovers. Dragon age inquisition has followed that with the introduction of Skyhold, think of it as the citadel, you'll be there frequently and for long periods of time.

Is Vivs room going to be open above the throne room like that the whole time?

Additionally, in DA:O (where you could actually waste frickin' hours in the camp, as I did), you were not forced to wear a casual outfit at all. You remained in your armor, and could change that which you wore at whim. You could even put on casual clothing if you had kept, say, the City Elf wedding dress or the Dwarven clothing.

I enjoyed the mandatory casual wear of Mass Effect, it made sense. However, it's honestly never had a place in my DA games. Even in DA2 I modded my game to allow Hawke's armor in their Estate. Danger and action always seems a bit more imminent in Dragon Age, and since military duds aren't particularly appropriate outside of the ME 'verse, the armor always had more presence and weight..

Unclear. The Hold, as we were shown, was in the midst of being rebuilt - so she could end up walled in. She may not. Tbh that area seemed more along the lines of her study/lounge zone rather than a bedroom - but I could be wrong.

You guys should check out the (casual apparel thread). We are trying to keep it going so the Devs take notice and hopefully come out with a DLC to give us more options. :D

I know this is for casual wear but would anyone here happen to know where to find a picture of the ball wear? I hear its pretty awful too and would like to see it for myself to decide if I should just throw out my dress loving Inquisitor or not since she can't seem to get pretty clothes :P

Well there is this picture:

Spoiler

It's male Inquisitor but we may assume that female will get something similar.

I feel bad for asking this but which one is suppose to be the Inquisitor? The one in black? I ask cause they both look like they have breast just the one in black less so unless that is a very puffy top they are both wearing. Also thank you for posting a picture of it.

Oh well I feel like i need glasses then because in the picture that person looks like they have breast. And can't say much seeing only a back side of the outfit so I suppose I'll have to wait until I see it in game.

She looks great. Why does she get a dress I want one too. (yeah it looks like she did a lot of cutting to it but the top half is still quite pretty and I'm a little envious of it)

That's a woman, she has breasts. Look under her outstretched arm.

I don't know why I thought it was male. You're right it's female. This outfit mislead me.

Well, so that's what we'll get. :(

Why can't we have stuff like this? Just make it a little more neat and it'd be great.

Yep, that's what the Female Inquisitor gets. I was looking forward to the ball, but not anymore.  :(

oh dear. they are both pretty dang bad. I'm usually able to cringe and bare it (ME2/ME3, DA2/Mota), but the Skyhold casual and Orlesian Ball formal are just really, really bad to me, in a game where so many things look so freaking cool... it's much more glaring I think.
