One thing that I have noticed with many custom female Commander Shepards is that they generally are overly beautified if that makes any sense. Rarely have I seen any female Shepards (including many female Hawkes and Wardens) that looked like average women. Attractive, but not like Maxim cover attractive or anything to that nature. It seems like when you allow people to create their female characters, men normally create someone who is overly sexualized while women while a bit tame, still go for extravagance in a way. You rarely see female Shepards/Hawkes/Wardens that are more on the Cassandra scale of things; attractive, yet not the typical "Hollywood", mainstream, or western ideals of what female beauty is. I am saying that most Shepards/Hawkes/Wardens I see (female) typically all have long hair, thick makup, straight and angular features etc...again, not like a Cassandra who has angular features, but is also....."normal" looking, Scout Harding as well.

For my female Elf and Qunari Inquisitors, I want to break the mold a bit. I want them to be attractive but not like OMGZ attractive. The type of female whom you may not break your neck to stare at because she is JUST SO attractive, but the type of female who you hang around with after a while and begin to find beauty in her, with the personality having a lot to play in that, not superficial features.

Again, I get the whole idea that if you are going to be playing a 100+ hour game, you would want to create someone that looks good, but still, I want to try to be less mainstream and more unique.

Theres no reason you cant make a female version of this monstrosity lol.

I plan on making my inquisitor look as though they could be related to myself.
I've never done such a thing before, but with that freckled option, I have to. I'm so
glad to finally have a character with just as many freckles as me, if not more.

That's not too hollywood in itself.

You can make pretty ugly Warden and Hawke as well as Shepard, so I don't see why you can't in this game. As shallow as I am, I can't play as an ugly protagonist.

Looking badass is essential for my femquisitors so that includes sharp hooked&bridged noses, scars and tattoos, so my toons tend to be a little less mainstream. Never really use make up unless it is for contouring cheek bones to give a fiercer look.

they said you'll have more options this time around.

you can have scars or look like your nose was broken and never set right if you want.

I'll play as one of the default options the first time around.

Not sure what the op is really asking.I never have any issues to create NON super-model looking femshep or femwarden or femhawk, in the previous games.

Since we have this

and broken noses, I think you can totally make a Inquisitor that not conventionally attractive

<--------- Ahem. My original (and canon) Shepard, who transferred quite nicely through the games.

My Inquisitors (all female) will follow the tradition of being regular women. That said, if runway-fabulous is what floats someone's boat, that's the beauty of RPGs with character creators. We're not locked into someone else's version of a character. <3 Bioware.

Actually yes she can. Devs confirmed female dwarves can have beards(at least stubbles from what weve seen) in a twitch CC Demo. They even show it.

I can understand where you're coming from. I'm told that I'm a really pretty girl but I think I look like the horrors from the deep. I guess how I feel about myself makes me create characters that look like glamorous super models. I did it in all Elder Scroll games and into the Dragon Age games. No matter how much I would like a normal looking girl in DA:I, reality isn't going to match and she's going to end up looking like a CoverGirl model. I just can't stand being normal. I suppose that if I have someone in a fantasy world why not make her beautiful?

I guess the only thing you can do is wait until the game is release or if they have a demo to see what you can do with the tools they present you with.

Same with my FemInquisitor. This game is about killing demons so my protagonist has to look the part.

Well hes not unattractive, he just looks like he went to a salon run by 5 years olds. He looked fine b4 the devs went into the makeup section.

Question: In what way does how other people make their PCs look affect you?

Really, all my female PCs are pretty average looking.  The Sheps/Wardens/Hawkes I've seen that are 'overly attractive' usually require mods to create.  I can understand using mods to add in a few extra hairstyles, but to completely overhaul your PC's look?  That's unnecessary.

Considering since we've seen plenty of DEFINITELY NOT SUPER MODEL looking inquisitors, yes you definitely can. :>

Well, you've never seen my Commander Shepards. My femsheps wear usually very little to no make-up and typically I try to err on the side of realistic.

Same with maleshep, although I only played him like once.

With wardens, same. I'm more likely to beautify male protags, to be honest.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you created a female Inquisitor that you thought was a 5, but I told you I thought she was a 10, would you feel upset about that? Who gives a crap in the defaults look attractive? You know for an absolute fact that you can customize the hell out of your face, so there's no sense being concerned about this.

Of course I plan on creating a couple everyday women inquisitors but I also plan on some being drop dead gorgeous because why the **** cant my inquisitor be a badass warrior and look like a supermodel, why is it either-or?  Supermodels are normal women too.

Stubble is not the same thing as a beard as anyone with a beard can tell you. I like that you can give Female Dwarves facial hair stubble but that is it.
