Ok I am not going any further with this, because I don't want to derail the thread. You just don't want too understand why he killed Elthina. He killed her because of the fact she wasn't helping the mages and the fact is blowing up Meredith would also kill the mages, as both are in the building.

I never said anything about blowing up the building. I was more meaning using his and justices powers against her directly, not using a bomb.

Also, Elthena may not have been doing the most proactive job, but she was keeping Meredith from just killing the mages because she thought there were BMs in the circle.

Is there an option to turn away any companions?  Like, if you feel Vivienne isn't going to be a good fit for your Inquisitor or Cole is too much of a wild card (Really, Bioware, yet ANOTHER possessed person/spirit companion?  Is this going to be a 'thing' since this makes the third installment in the game world with one?).  Barring parking the offending companion in the Skyhold, can you just outright refuse to bring them with you?

Personally, regardless of my liking them or what, I plan on at least recruiting and talking to them, getting to know them, bring them around for banters just because it's silly to not take advantage of a wealth of writing skill that went into each one.  But it doesn't mean i will like all of them equally.  Some I am already more interested in, and those will see a lot more face time on my runs.  Some, less so, but i still plan on getting to know all of them.

Different inquisitors will have different approaches.  I read there was supposed to be like 40 different endings to this game...SO sure I will never see them all but willing to see a lot of them.  I'd never be able to stomach even a quarter of that many runs with the same companions all the time.

I believe Cole's writer confirmed that you don't have to recruit him.  The devs have also said that you can drive away all of the companions except one based on your actions, though in that case you've already recruited them.

Not really blasphemous when she is being a pro cricle person that benefited from a system like this to say which too say I don't hate people like this is not telling the truth. When you benefit from the oppression of a another person rights, then I'll hate your guts.

"Rights" don't exist in Thedas.

Yea, I can't supply a reason for that since I didn't trust him.

Different strokes for different folks?

At first I disliked Zevran because he just wasn't my type but he grew on me after I did his romance same with Anders.

You can choose to not recruit Cole and Bull when you meet them.
Also, Cole is different from Wynne and Anders. He's not possessing any body.
And for The record, We had a Warden in our party in every game as well.

Inquisitor:  So, I invited Iron Bull because he's got a mercenary band, Sera because she has a group of brigands, Vivienne because she's got power and prestige in Orlais, Cassandra because she threatened to stab a map... but... what exactly do I need you for Cole?"

Cole: "I can hide turnips in your pillowcase."

Inquisitor: ... what?

Varric:  He said he could hide...

Inquisitor:  I KNOW what he said Varric...

Or both.  Circle mages live most of their lives in a bubble.  We will likely never know how many of them fell victim to simple things like hunger or exposure.  Not to mention that talking about fighting and actually fighting are two very different things.  No wonder the MP character from Ostwick defects to the Inquisition.

Two things have occurred to me in recent weeks. The only reason Anders plans worked is because Meredith was strung out on Red Lyruim and the Divine letting the mages go peacefully was a good move. Had the Templars not gotten their murder on and let the mages go I'd be willing to bet that most of the mages would've come back to the Chantry within a year or two. Those that didn't die of starvation, get knifed in a gutter for a few coins or end up lynched by the furious mobs of scared commoners. At which point the Divine could be:

It still doesn't mean I don't hate that Charcter for being a slaver. So they got some rights after all.

The current Divine, Her holiness Justinia the Fifth, has been trying to work to improve the lives of mages, including tranquility research to figure out how to reverse that effect, and ways to protect mages from demonic possession. Of course as a reformist, there are quite a few in the templar order, Lambert i am looking at you, who hated that; just the same mages such as fiona didn't want to work with her(fiona is one who said "**** the divine" so we can see her opinions here)

Yes, if you do things that they dissagree with then they can be driven away if you do it enough time that they just go and leave.

@herkles:  And I WONDER who might have been helping with research against Tranquility... I wonder if the chief mage consultant to Empress Celene - the progressive educated empiress - "might" have been assisting in some of this research.

Maybe not - but I'd love it if she was - and the rebellion ruined everything.

No she was not keeping her from killing mages, in fact, she went behind Elthina's back too get permission from the divine for the Rite of Anuliment. I love how you just skip over parts of the story to fit your view point. Vivienne was not even there in the first place, so how could she know, how many were killed in the blast?

Oh yea, I forgot about Wynne.  So a spirit possessed person in EACH installment.   Didn't think of Alistair as a warden, since Origins was all about the wardens, but yea, we've had at least one of those in each game too.

...again, Cole isn't a Spirit possessed person. He's a spirit. His body isn't really real.

@The Elder King:  Well - it might be real now.  I mean - it is a solid form capable of stabbing and jumping on top of sleeping Templars. But it's not the body of the boy he was mimicking.

I thought I read he possessed the body of a mage who was left to die of exposure/starvation in the dungeons from neglect/negligence and the templars covered up their mistake.  He comforted the boy in his dying moments.  Does that mean he just took on that semblance instead of possessing the body?

I definitely want to get rid of Vivienne now. Not because I disagree with her, but because her comments will inevitably result in some mad apostate trying to blow up Skyhold.

No, wait, I forgot. The rebels only assassinate moderates. ;)

Possibly he is like Justice whom basicly took over his body after he died. He is a charcter that has my interests.

That's how I took it to mean.  However, we have seen a spirit manifest in human form in the Blackmarsh (Baroness).  So it is possible I guess...I wonder if we question him it will be elaborated on?

See, I am not too keen on him, but even Cole has aspects I'd like to further explore.  I plan on eating up everything in this game till I'm stuffed with Bioware goodness.

Just in time for Thanksgiving/Christmas too... :D

Who wants to bet on whether mages are going to be content to live as common folk(aka serfs with about as much in the way of rights as the mages had except without the free food, shelter, education, clothing, and protection)?

As it currently stands, mages can't even survive without either pillaging or being subsidized by an outside entity(Tevinter being the most likely candidate). Probably both will end up happening.

@Ryriena, I've noticed a lot of double/triple posts for you.  I've been getting some serious lag issues too.  Try hitting the refresh button after doing "post" and see if that posts your replies so you don't have to strike "post" more than once.  It's working for me anyway, my likes are also lagging terribly.  Probably all the traffic on the boards the past few days as this has been going on for a while for me.
