I don't think this game has had enough dev time

I wouldn't say that this game hasn't had enough dev time. But I would say that there are many design flaws.

Many aspects were too focused on like:

Water puddle lighting

Skyhold layout (they said in the twitch stream that they redid the layout like 3 times) ouch

Very expansive face customization

Separate feminine and masculine PC movement instead of one neutral stance that everybody can enjoy

30 mounts

Other aspects have been overlooked and unattended like:

Hair

More casual attire

Skyhold's BGM i would much rather have ambient nature noises and torch fire cracklings instead of that slow steady Chinese water torture drum beat

As well as character design (mine personally) issues with Solas, Josephine, and Sera. I really liked some of the concepts.

You cant really have a neutral walking, women walk slightly different to men due to differences in centre of gravity

Well, ideally each race should walk based on their skeletal and musculature structure. The Dwarves are much more low down and solid, so perhaps hardly any difference?

This is a video game. It would've saved a lot of resources to make one neutral walk for both genders. Save the over feminized and over masculine walks for later and be a choice not a gender trait.

Some characters (Cassandra) look awkward with the current female animations.

Go to that other thread if you want to further discuss this. Some people have brought up some very good points for pro neutrality.

I guess every race has its ideal of femininity... if you look closely, even a dwarf woman is... a woman... act like some sort of woman... speak like some sort of women version of a male dwarf... for sure fight better then a male...

Some people don't like diversity. *sigh* Where is this world heading...?

I did agree that Cass looked a bit odd while walking

Except at the part where I specifically said "Save the over feminized and over masculine walks for later and be a choice not a gender trait."

I'm all for diversity which is why I don't want my male elves walking like bruisers.

You look to far away in the future... an utopistic world where every one can freely choose the degree of his/her/it walking style...

I'm sorry, when I first read your comment, it was more of a skim-read and I didn't quite understand you quote. Sorry, after reading it again, it makes a bit more sense.

Almost everything you listed is a design decision, not a bug or glitch.

There's nothing to "fix" about your list. None of those things are problems that have to be resolved, they are choices that the devs made that some people like, and others don't.

Adding more time to the game wouldn't give you what you want, because those decisions wouldn't change. More time might result in fewer bugs, but the devs (for now) seem to think that the remaining issues that need to be addressed don't warrant another game delay.

Given that they have all the information about the design and technical issues, and we have, at best, a loose collection of speculations, I'm going to go ahead and take their word for when the right time to release the game is. My opinion won't change anything, anyway, so I'll wait and see reality before I worry about getting what I want. If it turns out I'm disappointed, I'll revisit the subject. But I'm not going to spend time or energy criticizing a game or its development before I have any real information about it.

People come in a variety of shapes and sizes. There are cis men who are very small, short, and have wide hips. There are cis women who are very tall, broad-shouldered, and have narrow hips.

Also, sex and gender isn't binary, so there's an entire demographic of trans and intersexed people who exhibit a variety of sexual characteristics coupled with a variety of walking patterns.

tldr: It's not that black and white.

I was going to add that everyone has distinct gait. But then in-game that's a lot of work

I don't recall which interview it was, but I remember one of the devs mentioning that BW has been working on DAI since before they even finished DAII. The total dev time is probably more like 4 to 4.5 years so I think they've had ample time.

An IGN E3 video, I believe. They said that as soon as they finished Origins they started working on Inquisition if I recall correctly.

Ah, found the link:

DAI has had plenty of dev time.

Any problems it has now is on them, not deadlines themselves.

And I do hope it has at least less problems than DA2 did.

I'm fairly optimistic :)

Where is this polishing though? I still see significant amount of bugs a month before release. That's why I said I have a feeling it will have lots if bugs at launch and will need many patches for months.

When DA2 came out it was the buggiest game I have ever played. It was unplayable with the slow down bug.I had to quit and wait about 4 months for them to patch it and it was an incomplete one at that.I know that Bethesda games are buggy but at least they put out a creation kit so that enterprising modders can improve and solve the problems.Anyway I pre-ordered so I'll have to wait and see.

LYNX!  Sorry, but Chrono Cross is one of my favorite JRPGs I've ever played.

Quick derail and I'm out.  Have you ever heard his boss theme from Radical Dreamers?  He has one, but they didn't redo it for Chrono Cross, for some reason:

in any case, DAI probably has twice as much dev time as DA2 so we can defintely say EA at least decided not to rush this project as much as they did for DA2.

and regarding all your 'concerns', valid or not, we do not know how the game will play out without those features, let's not be too negative too quickly and then breed more negativity. give it a shot with an open mind. if you are going to something, thinking it would suck, let me just say it would suck for u even if it is actually enjoyable. u will never be happy.

That's usually why studios don't tell people what they left out. As people focus on those rather than what the game has.
