Hi,

I know nothing about meshes and stuff like that. This dress has a weird thing sticking out of the front of it. It only happens on the elf, not the human or dwarf. Is this the mesh file? I have no idea how to even open a msh file...

Anyone know how to fix this? It is not a big deal, but it does bother me a little.

Thank you :)

Eeep. That's... weird. And probably painful.

Did you use the meshes and etc from my wedding dress attempt? They used a renamed vanilla noble dress mesh - or was it tmp's? I can't remember now.

If so, maybe I made a mis-click somewhere when I was editing fields to make the standalone? My computer is in pieces all over the room right now, else I'd try to figure out what's what for you.  :(

Hi,

This is the elf version, the human and dwarfs are fine. I think it was the renamed Amaranthine noble dress... It is not that bad, but just thought I'd see if there was an easy fix :D

In fact let me grab your Amarathine dress off Nexus and swap out the elf msh file... I'll get back with you asap. thank you TSM :)

Sorry about your PC.. did you take a hammer to it?? :P

Never mind Am Dress has no msh files in it....  :D

It would be a weighting issue presumably. Do you see any mesh distortion/stretching as you move backwards and forwards? If you post a link the mod in question, I'll take a peek up its skirt, so to speak.

This is the dress before alteration (bottom file). A tiny diamond shape in the front of the bodice looks like it is sticking out only on the elf female when she walks. TSM fixed the dress for the wedding, then I re-textured it. Thank you.

Yeah, the dress on the Nexus hasn't any meshes included, it references the Bioware meshes instead... the wedding dress meshes are just re-purposed copies of the ef_cth_nbl_0/2/3 meshes (as are the MMH/PHY/MAO files). All I do is rename files and change the internal cross-references to  build the standalone clothing.

I'll extract fresh copies of everything from DAO + DAA - the assets are spread out across both games - and rebuild the female elf version.

(And I apologize for not getting back to you sooner... I think my computer is dying.)

Yes, the problem is the mesh. The little diamond section on the stomach is not weighted properly. Interesting that nobody ever spotted that a vanilla game mesh had that problem for the last 5 years (that I recall seeing anyway). It only affects the elf female mesh, the human and dwarf ones are fine, so I can only assume female elves wearing noble clothes are not a big thing.

I'll see if I can reweight the affected area and release a fix.

The diamond shape on the back is screwed up as well. It really is bizarre nobody ever complained about this before. It's glaringly obvious once you know it is there.

Edit: Here we go, try extracting this into your Override and seeing how it goes - http://dpmods.wheb.o...Clothes_Fix.zip

Thank you so much DP!!!

TSM, I knew it was nothing you did since you never touch the meshes. I downloaded and will rename the files... I'll send you a PM TSM to make sure I do them right!! ;)

There are 3 mmh and msh files for the elf female in the wedding dress... Do the others need to be fixed also, or can the same file be renamed for all 3 of them?

ef_cth_wwed_0 = (ef_cth_nbl_0)

ef_cth_wwed_2
ef_cth_wwed_3

It's just the LOD0 mesh, so the _0 is the only one you need to replace. Keep the original LOD2/3 files.

Btw for future reference TSM, if you are not making any mesh modifications, you don't need to have a custom named copy of the MSH. Just have your custom named MMH reference the original. For example, if you look at the vanilla elf female noble clothes, you'll see that there are 6 variant MMH/PHY sets (ef_cth_nbla_x to ef_cth_nblg_x), but only a single MSH that they all refer to (ef_cth_nbl_x).

*nods* I only did the meshes that way because people complain about glitches/things bugging with the dress  when they also use tmp's proportion's fix... I was trying to avoid making that Luna's problem, too. (As I mentioned before, the standalone mod I did with a similar dress does reference the Bioware mesh.)

Ah, fair enough. I forgot about the proportion mod.

It doesn't look like you actually need those troublesome bits in the first place with that texture mod. Both front and back pieces are actually separate groups of polys not attached to the main body. I could easily delete them, if you wanted.

That would be up to TSM (deleting the poly thingys)... It is working good now. the problem was not noticeable at all with the Dwarf and human ladies.

HEh! I was going to say that it was up to you, Luna! I say if it's not noticeable, don't sweat it. (And many thanks to DP for sorting things out. *raise a glass*)

Here are the meshes without the jewels on the stomach and back, in case you want them. Includes all three races.

Once you see the wiggly worm it cannot be unseen.  Thanks for the fix!
