i've tried to solo with just using the cobra missile launcher......but i only got as far as wave 2.

There are other older video's of players doing duo's and solo's with crap weapons for weapon build characters.

 

Really, it doesn't look like the gameplay changes much from people using powerful set-ups, it's still kiting enemies to the few places per map where you can use RHA most effectively .. it just takes much longer because of gimped damage output. Patience and incredible spawn / map knowledge make this possible ..
