I mean like just toggling entire armor off and on but don't have the helmet on when walking around in Skyhold so you're more like Cullen or Cassandra who are still wearing theirs.

Ah.  Well, so far nothing that the devs have said have indicated that we can do that.  In fact, they seemed surprised that folks were asking for more options.  I would be okay with that, but it doesn't seem likely.  With the exception of the old screenshots from E3, we haven't seen the Inquisitor in armor when in Skyhold.  Still, it's a pretty good idea to suggest to the devs.

I just can't understand why they thought that customizing Skyhold took priority over a causal outfit.  This is just my experience, and I'm not claiming to speak for anyone else.  The first mod I downloaded ever for DA2?  It was a dress replacement for the home outfit as well as for the MotA party.  The first one I downloaded for ME2 and ME3?  A coalesced file that gave me all of the causal outfits in the game.   I consider that infinitely more important, since I'll be looking at that anytime I'm at "home."

I liked ME's approach for the captain's cabin.  In ME2 and ME3, you can pick up some fish for your fish tank, and model ships.  Later, you can even get your dog tags on display as well as a husk (read: space techno zombie) head and yes, a space hamster.  I liked that, because it added a little personalization to my cabin without feeling like I was getting sidetracked.  To me, that was one of the best examples of mild customization for a homebase without going overboard.  Yes, I know that the ME team and the DA team are mostly different (members of the ME team did work on DA:I) but it strikes me as a good idea.

Even being able to change colors of that outfit would be nice, I personally don't like it and don't have any Inquisitors planned who would like it either and I agree with Natashina that it is odd that they Keep itself is so customize-able  but our causal outfit the main thing we will be looking at since its on our character is not? That is a odd choice to me. Don't get me wrong I like that we can customize the keep, but not being able to customize our casual outfit even slightly is kind of going to stick right out and just seem very bizarre. Then again I would be a lot happier if we could get the option to change the color of it at the very least the mud brown is a very strange choice of color.

I actually would've preferred if we could craft casual outfits the same way we can craft armor.  Its seems weird to me that we can make all the armor and Mage robes we like but can't create our own pants suit.

That way instead of BioWare going for something with a neutral tone that suits everyone & no one, they couldn't just used the crafting sysytem that was already in place.

If there is an outfit DLC, I'd prefer if where like that, rather than a pack of random outfits.

That is not a bad idea at all. I was hoping that we could craft causal wear like we could armor actually. That would have been very nice and though I don't really like buying just cosmetics DLC I'd probably buy it if it like that with being able to craft casual wear rather than just getting random outfits available to you.

Is ManQuisitor's outfit going to be skin tight and flesh colored as well?  Somehow I doubt it.

Personally, I find it just...silly that I can customize curtains and such.  However, the one thing that I'll probably be looking at the most, my clothes, can't be changed.

I thought exactly the same during the stream. I don't care how how my throne looks like - it's just a posh chair and I will probably rarely use it if at all.

However, I want to look fabulous when I will visit Josie in her chamber.

I hope the devs make it so we can at least change the color.  Personally I found that outfit to be uglier than the casual outfits you're forced into in DA2 (yes, even the ugly thing female Hawke wears).  It's just tan.  I understand that some people like it and that's good for them, but no design is going to be 100% popular, so I'm completely confused as to why the devs thought giving everyone the exact same thing would go over well.

I'd like to see 3-4 designs with either the ability to change the colors ourselves or a handful of predesigned color schemes per design to choose from.  I'd be willing to settle for just a few different sets, because just about anything would be preferable to what I saw in the stream today.  The design itself is decent, but I don't want to run around for hours in the color scheme of the Afrika Korps.

Note: If this cannot be added to the game before launch or in a free patch, I am perfectly willing to pay for DLC to get these options.  I also don't intend to be mean at all with the Rommel photo.  Just having a little fun.  :P

You do kind of have a point.  Those mounts had better be fabulous though.

The matching colors of the top and pants makes it look like pajamas in my opinion which is weird.

I'm sure they will be. But why not divert some of the time/resources that went into designing/creating five of those mounts and instead give us the option to choose from five different casual outfits like in Mass Effect??

Some of Bioware's decisions are beyond baffling...

Will the color of the outfit be customizable at least?  Or is nude the only color available.

I need to see ManQuisitor's outfit now.

If we could modify the color of the one we had now, I'd be happy. Sorta like crafting? Craft a casual outfit with colors or details you liked? Edit: someone beat me to it xD

I'd love a skirt or dress option for females, as well as a more Dalish option!

Yeah that's kind of a "wait...why?" moment. They could've halved the mount count and given us an extra casual outfit for some choice at least :(

Your statement doesn't make any sense in this instance.

"Different strokes for different folks" would be applicable to say if Bioware had given us multiple casual outfits to choose from and I still thought all of them were ugly. THEN you could say "different strokes for different folks" to prove that it's a matter of opinion in determining what qualifies as an "ugly" outfit.

In this case, Bioware only gave us ONE casual outfit to wear when walking around Skyhold, which is something we're going to spend countless hours doing.

Then they designed THIRTY different mounts, when most players won't even bother unlocking/purchasing/using all thirty in a single game.

That kind of logic makes no sense.

I am...somewhat bemused by a few of the customization priorities. There are apparently a ridiculous number of things you can change in Skyhold; there are multiple throne designs, a dozen drape options, and so forth. Yet when it comes to the player character - arguably one of if not the most important fixture of the game - there are some elements where customization is incredibly lacking (and I'll keep the others out of this thread). Shouldn't something like this have been prioritized over drapes? Even if the outfit doesn't look bad (or at least doesn't look bad to a number of people), why is there only one? Especially when a number of interesting garbs have been shown and thus already exist as assets (such as the Orlesian fashions - hell, even regular NPC costumes), and when armours are so customizable? I assume we're going to be spending quite a bit of time in Skyhold - several hours of play time, at least. It would have been nice to be able to have something to fit different character concepts.

The mounts are fine, but the fact that the companions vanish in a puff of smoke once you decide to ride, it really puts a damper on things. Plus riding will be a hassle if you have to take precious seconds dismounting as enemies get free pot-shots at you in a game with limited healing.  So I may not even use the mounts.

At any rate, I would gladly sacrifice some mounts for not having to be put to shame by Dorian and Vivienne while perusing the grounds of my crib.  I mean, how can I even properly face Vivienne looking like this??!!!  No, this simply will not do....  ARMOR IT IS.  Hopefully I can actually keep armor on while walking around skyhold.

Good for you. If, however, you can't agree that it's bizarre that Bioware would spend the time/resources to design 30 mounts while only giving us one casual outfit (which we can't even change the color of!), then your judgement is suspect.

Also, since when are more choices/customization options a bad thing in an RPG?!?

You sound like a Bioware apologist to me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. My inquisitor will subconsciously avoid Vivienne's little perch just because of the internalized shame of only having one, monotone, pantsuit.
