Is it me, or does Laidlaw sound kind of annoyed?
Think about it this way: he's in crunch time for a massive product that's probably a career maker or breaker after DA2.

It wouldn't really have to be through a new UI, would it? It could be a silent dialog interaction with a wardrobe at most minimal.

That's a new UI, because the UI isn't just the flashy graphic interface but the underlying code that actually does the thing you want it to do based on your interaction with the flashy interface. So someone has to come up with a way to get the dialogue wheel to trigger a clothing change, presumably by piggy-backing it somehow to the equipment system, but that all might lead to the system breaking because it might not be able to handle more than one item of clothing at a time unless it's hardcoded.

I see...

Ah so we can't change colors at all then?

Well maybe during the first playthough I'll be too busy looking at everything else to look at the Inquisitor, at least I know they'll blend into the back ground well enough where I can make myself ignore them.
On the up side this might be the reaction of the nobles that see that get up on us both the casual and the ball wear.

If this happens I might be able to handle that mud color ![]()
This one. It looked like a dark gold and white, with some brown, to me:
I would like a different color palette for the casual wear based on today's stream.
I actually do not see a need to switch between different kinds of outfits, but I certainly would welcome it if it's a post launch DLC.

Well I could understand it, if he would. Most of the time you're out in the world, fighting monsters in your armor. So the focus with the game had been more about the different choices in armour for you and your companions, than your skyhold outfit.

No, it makes no sense... You could change your curtains in Skyhold but no for the outfit. And believe me we will spend a lot of time in skyhold.
Well, it's settled. I'll wait with playing in game until some mods will show. ![]()
I have to say, I am quite happy with the armor we have seen so far. The mage armor that has been shown off in the streams is very pretty! It has delicate designs on it, as well as some lace or at least embroidery, I cant quite tell.
So despite the awful ball and casual one, at least we have that to be thankful for!
Here is the one I'm thinking of btw,
Spoiler
If that was our mandatory casual outfit at Skyhold, I'd be fine with it. What she's wearing underneath that beautiful trench vest is actually quite similar to the outfit we got, but the colour makes all the difference. *Sigh* With gorgeous clothing like this available, I wish we could just wear the outfit of our choice everywhere, including Skyhold and the ball.
I'm confused. Has anyone else noticed these are different from each other? Look at the sleeves and boots, plus the design on the pants. Has Bioware commented on that? Top doesn't look like an armor set.
Could be different iterations of the game in which the design of the outfit has changed from one to the other.

That seems to be the most likely reason for the difference.
Another thing I want to say is, look at those two pictures: one is much clearer than the other. I think that if we could've seen the clothing in the bottom picture as clearly (and unfuzzy) as the top picture there would be less complaints. The low resolution in that stream has not done it much justice.

Better quality pics have been in this thread for a while. The low-res stream is not the issue.

I'm not sure, even during the cutscene it looked rather different. The outfit at the war table looks like it has dark brown pants with a beige/white top, the one from the recent Skyhold stream looks like they've gone for the same colour all round. It could be the lighting I suppose? Even then though, other things seem off. I wish they'd gone for something like the war table outfit, it doesn't look quite as bad with the different tones.
I just watched the whole thing again, focusing almost entirely on the outfit, and I think the lighting makes a big difference.
In the first five minutes (roughly) the top was a lighter shade than the pants, which also seemed too have a bit of a grey tone to them, I did not like the boots in those five minutes they seemed almost pinkish to me, then we left the bedroom and they weren't as pinky anymore and I stopped noticing them. The colour definately changed a lot as we moved around, in some places it al looked like the exact same shade, and then we'd move somewhere else and I could see the dfference again - side note: I thought the shadowing was really cool in the Leliana-Jospehine scene.
Honestly, while looking at the pictures in this thread (and all the other threads they keep getting posted in) I wasn't a big fan, but watching the Inquisitor I quite liked it. Would still love more options, though.

Then if it doesn't matter because we are outside the inquisition so much why should curtains matter is what I think shes trying to say. They already said the Inquisition itself is like a character, and they gave us the ability to customize Skyhold to fit the way we wanted it to look
And while we will spend some time in Skyhold we'll still spend the most outside Skyhold

I can even see where the Isabela boots used to be, which is really depressing I would would put up with that outfit for those boots.
The lines of the outfit are the same the one in the HQ pic is just an earlier version imo.
If possible I'm going to put off going to the ball and hope a mod comes out that lets me swap the red suit for a pretty dress (why wont you give me a pretty dress BW!?!).

I never said it doesn't matter

So if we have ability to customize Skyhold to fit the way we wanted it to look why we can't have choice in how our character will look in it. ![]()
I guess I just had to high expectations. ![]()
But in this pic it looks so much better. It's not so much bland.

It would be great to have a little neckline though...

Looks great to me - plenty of detail. So what's the problem?
