It seems that we wear the casual attire while preforming the judgments.

It really doesn't look that bad, and the colors look lighter

Yeah, on the Male Inquisitor it is not that bad.

It seems everything is looking better on male Inqusitor. xd Sooo not fair. xd

Yeah, I really am sorry if I come across as rude. I'm blunt. It's a flaw.
And I agree, those styles have clearly been an influence , but it's sad to note though that your examples are all male. I don't actually mind the outfit on the m!Quiz, it seems so off for female though - ignoring the poor colour choice ofc.
I don't think any aspect of customization should even hypothetically need to sacrificed just to get some choice in casual clothing. I don't want 'clothes instead of x'. I just want... clothes. I'd be happy with just a 'wear armor around keep toggle'.
You haven't become the bad guy to me, you were just someone who happened to ask a pretty obviously answered question (seriously, so not trying to be rude, just don't know how to word this better).
I'm aware I am allowing these small things to bum me out. I know the game will be great, but disappointment is disappointment. I expect I'll still dislike the things I'm disliking now, once I get the game because they are flaws. I just hope that these sorts of vanity issues are as big as the problems get, man.
The problem with The Outfit is it's the same for male and female - which means I couldn't find any real or TV versions of similar female clothing as there really isn't any, or much of it at least. This, then, is unavoidable.
It's pretty safe to say that it really is just "vanity issues" at this point, which is a good thing! Mind you, the other main vanity issue is the qunari hairstyles... and we see the Inquisitor's head all the time!

There's also these other images from that sneak peek thread which show The Outfit looking a little better, I think.
There seems to be more differentiation between the doublet and trousers, for starters.
(I do miss those high boots we've seen in older images though...)

I disagree with that.
As I thought.
That outfit looks pretty good on the human male. It looks like a vest or a doublet over a shirt. I am perfectly fine with it. DAT POSE IN THE PICTURE WHERE HE IS SITTING ON THE THRONE. HE LOOKS FABULOUS.
Femquisitor's looks like a pantsuit. Not a good look IMO.

I still wanna steal Leliana's boots for myself ![]()
They should just enable the option to wear armor in Skyhold. No work to do for the devs and the customization would still be there. That is literally the most simple thing for the devs to do to appease the players.
Good point!
....eeeeexcept for all of the cinematics they'd have to redo, and the effort involved to be able to accommodate any size and shape of armour or robe or coat or whatever.
So, actually, no, not at all, not very likely, nope.
Sorry. If it was easy, it would be easy.

I think why they don't do this is the clipping issues. Skyhold is likely where the more personal scenes take place, romances for one, where the models will likely have closer contact. Therefore it presents a whole plethora of issues when animating to accommodate for robes, whether there are any shoulder pieces, etc. I know many do not care about clipping (at least I do not), but Bioware wouldn't be able to publish it without complaints. So, any new casual outfits they do add will have to be constructed specifically so that they do not clip. Which I really hope they do end up adding, I'm not a fan of the current one.
I've been trying to find a pic of the gown style I wish they were offering alongside the red outfit but the closest I can find is bad quality pics from 1997's Anastasia. ![]()
Basically keep the military aspect but turn it into a dress.
I actually like the casual outfit. I just want to change the color of it.
I don't know why the 2 inquisitors need the same type of outfit anyway.I've been trying to find a pic of the gown style I wish they were offering alongside the red outfit but the closest I can find is bad quality pics from 1997's Anastasia.

While the neutral, matte tones of ManQuisitor's vest and shirt have a certain classy quality to them, he may very well end up getting lost among the gleaming armor and more bold colors of the companions' and advisors' outfits when grouped together in cutscenes.
Clipping issues I can kind of see why they stuck with one outfit since that seems to be a big fear but I don't see why that would keep it from not being able to have the color changed. That alone i think would give a good number of people a look that they could deal with. Though maybe it would be hard to implement I have no idea how any of this works so maybe it is hard but I imagine it would be easier to change the color of the outfit than it would the outfit itself.

A lot of people wont be happy if they force all female pcs to wear a dress which is why I wish they were offering options instead of dictating what we wear when out of combat zones.

Sorry the image isn't loading for me, I've been having trouble with BSN all week.
But look at the things our companions wear cullen wears armor.
Yes, he only has one armor though, and his scenes would all be animated in order to accommodate for that. The inquisitor, however, has a variety of armor to choose from. Problems would be presented in animation such as a hug, where if you were wearing heavy plate, then the two figures hugging would likely clip through, due to the scene having been animated for an Inquisitor in the current casual option. I am definitely not against wearing armor in the base, as I really don't care about clipping, I am just saying why it's likely Bioware had decided against it and probably won't add the option.
